  • I don’t mind it being one long thread as long as it stays on the first page on mobile.

  • @3rdtime_charmed I'm almost always on mobile too.

I got my panorama results today (sort of).

The babies are fraternal (not surprised since I ovulated from both sides and they are di/di) and are at low risk for the trisomies and downs.  However, the tech forgot to check the little box about gender results... so that part is still a mystery.  She called Natera to ask for the results but said it is a few day turn around.  Yay for low risk though!

  • After two weeks of waiting I finally got my panorama results. I'm low risk and having a boy and a girl! 🙏 Now to figure out names and keep them in until after Valentine's day! Lol

  • Fraternal twin girls!  EEK 4 daughters.

  • @Pooka8 I am excited for you!  Our twins are girls and they are absolute, inseparable best buddies and it's the most amazing thing to watch.   :)
  • Hi all,
I'm late to the party here.  I'm 14 weeks with di/di twins. This will be our second and third kiddo. I just got my MaterniT results this week and it came back low risk. We also found out at least one of the babies is a boy.  My due date is March 28th.

My first son came at 29 weeks (my appendix ruptured at 27 weeks) and I am very nervous about another extended NICU stay.  I want to badly to experience a happy, stress free pregnancy and delivery!
    Nice to meet everyone!

  • OMG I gained 5 pounds this week! I’m 15 weeks and feel so huge! I read that early weight gain is good with twins so I’m happy to be gaining but I’m worried it was quite the jump in one week!!

  • I feel your pain @3rdtime_charmed! I've gained 18lbs since getting pregnant! I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow lol. I feel huge too!
  • My doc decided to test me early for gestational diabetes because I have a strong family history. She also thinks I may just have big babies in there, my husband is very tall and I’m not short.  On the plus side, she confirmed that I am definitely feeling movement. She said it happens earlier in multiple gestations.

  • Measurement check in?
Is everyone tracking? My doc says I’m measuring about 3-4 weeks bigger on fundal height that I would be with a singleton. I’m defintiely showing, and she says that’s why I am feeling baby move early. Its fun now to be rocking the baby bump, but I’m worried about how big I will be at the end.

  • Hello! di/Di update! These are our first babies, girl/boy due March 16 Everything seems ok so far, but I’m definitely getting those back pains and hip pains, using body pillows to help. The other night I had a dream that they came early and we had nothing ready, so I’m already in full panic mode, any other new moms of twins experiencing this? Any advice on the level of which we should be prepared thus far? Am I wild for being panicked about not being prepared this early on?
  • @3rdtime_charmed my ob hasn't done a single fundal measurement and I read that many don't for twins.

@akdv I'm not a new mom (these are babies 3 and 4) but I wouldn't stress too. Much about not having stuff ready yet.  You have lots of time.  We move around Halloween so. I haven't done a Thing and what I have left of baby stuff (most was given away) is in storage.  We didn't even use things like cribs in the first couple months with my older girls.

We close on our house tomorrow and I have my anatomy scan with mfm on Tuesday.  It's an eventful week.   Every u/s the babies have been transverse stacked/ on top of each other.  I don't doubt that they still are because I feel like my belly is expanding sideways and am so much more uncomfortable at this point than I ever was with my singleton pregnancies. Last pg I climbed all over neuschwanstein castle and walked miles at 21 weeks in Germany with a 2 year old on my back.  I'm currently getting winded just sitting up too fast. :-/

On a positive note I'm. Eating more normally with minimal sickness and hopefully will be gaining weight now (was 12 lbs below pre pg at my appt 3 weeks ago).

I'm excited for a cold front in TX Monday! Sunday was 90 and Mondays high is 58.

    Sorry for the novel.

  • Anyone still feeling gross? I will be 17 weeks Thursday and I feel so bad after every meal.  I'm not as tired these days and not really nauseous anymore.  I just feel crummy after every single meal.  I don't remember what it feels like to enjoy eating!!

I'm also still having a hard time with water intake. Some days I can get a bottle or 2 down, most days I'm lucky to finish one.

I know every pregnancy is different but with my first I had been feeling better for weeks at this point.  Starting to feel like this may be my new normal.  :(

    Anyone else?
  • I'm not sure we get much of the 2nd trimester boost with twins. I'm still really tired, and I hurt, and the heartburn is real.

  • Found out at my anatomy scan that they are measuring 95th percentile and now they're thinking of modifying my due date. No wonder I feel so huge! I can't believe how big my belly has gotten. I'm almost as big as I was late third trimester with my son. I expected to be big but this still blows my mind. I'll be 22 weeks Weds and I've already started getting "you look ready to pop" and "you're huge when are you due?" Comments. Here's to hoping they stay cooking for another 15 weeks! Even if it means I'll look like the blueberry girl from willy Wonka 😂. Hope all of you are hanging in there, twin pregnancy is no joke! Sending positive vibes ❤️
  • Any other twin Mamas diagnosed with cholestasis? I messaged a doctor yesterday about a cream for my itchy hands, feet, and ankles and ended up with a call sending me to on triage. They're treating me for cholestasis even though the bile number isn't back yet. I hadn't even heard of it before yesterday. Apparently it's not common but it's more common in mom's with multiples.
  • @katw123 I think everything is more common with multiples... I know in Singleton pregnancies they usually induce early around 37 weeks and do more monitoring, but they would probably do that for you anyway with twins.

I have been absent lately because we moved into our house.  Over 2 weeks later I'm living with a sea of boxes because I have no energy to do anything about it.  I can't Breath half the time because baby b is transverse and in my ribs.  I had a growth u/s this week.  They are both around 1lb 2-3 OZ and growing well.  I was supposed to have an echo u/s to check their hearts on the 27 but it got bumped to December so now I don't see either mfm or My ob for 4 weeks.  With my singleton pg's I enjoyed pg past 20 week, after the nausea let up.  I'm 23 weeks now and just freaking uncomfortable 24/7.  Can't catch my breath, can't stand long because of varicose veins and my leg goes numb with more than 5 min of walking.   So it's a lot of whining but that's where I'm at, I'm sure you ladies understand better than most.

  • @Pooka8 hang in there!
  • Let's talk twin gear.  I know there are other threads for this, but needs are different with twins.  We gave away a LOT because we were done with having babies.

If you've already purchased or registered for this stuff what'd you pick and why?

    CarSeat?:

    Stroller?

Sleep Solution? (PnP, Crib, Bassinets etc.)

    Cloth or Disposable diapers?

These are just core items, feel free to add to or edit the list.

CarSeat?:  We had a Chicco KeyFit 30 that we used for my older girls but had to retire it after getting rear ended.  It looks like it's still the best selling seat.  My only complaint with it was that I wish I had the "kink" in the handle for easier carrying.  It was super easy to install and easy enough to clean when needed.  So I'm leaning toward this.  We have to get a mini van anyway.  I'll have one in a 5 point booster and one in a regular booster in addition to the twins.  (DDs are 4 and 7)

Stroller?  No clue here.  Cheapest option for now seems to be just go to with the (Edit: Babytrend) double stroller frame.  I did this with my older two (the single version) and it was easy enough... then I upgraded to a nicer stroller when they switched seats).

Sleep Solution? (PnP, Crib, Bassinets etc.)
Our Master is the only bedroom downstairs so I forsee the twins sleeping in our room for at least a year because it's a big house and I don't want them on a different level.  We'll eventually have cribs for their room... but probably not to start.  I have one pnp with a bassinet that I loved the first few weeks with my older kids.... but it's not conducive to two babies.  So I may be looking into other bassinet type twin options.

Cloth or Disposable diapers?  I did Cloth with my older girls.  Best Bottoms and newborn prefolds with covers with my second. I  gave all the Newborn and small sized stuff and covers to my SIL (oops).  I'm trying to decide if I can realistically make cloth work again with 4 kids.

I only saved my absolute favorite newborn and little baby clothes (in hopes of a quilt someday) so I'm starting from scratch there.  Man, this was a lot easier going from #1 (where I did all the research because I had the time) to #2 where I just used what I still had.

  • I don't know how much help I'll be here, but just in case:

For a stroller we used a Baby Trend double snap n go that's just basically a frame that the car seats set into. Highly recommend - makes life easier with two. Once we were out of the infant seats we got a double Maclaren, because it folded up small, was relatively lightweight and fit through doors. It was for that in-between stage of not walking to walking well in and out of daycare. For weekends and activities like the zoo, etc we had a double BOB Ironman and it was by far my favorite stroller ever!

Car seats we had the Chicco 30, they worked. Nothing super amazing or awful, but they worked with our stroller.

Sleeping - it's been awhile and recommendations have changed, but ours went immediately into their cribs. We had a small ranch at the time, so it worked.

For diapers, we used disposable (Target brand).  We did daycare from pretty early on so we didn't really have a choice there, but I probably still would have done disposable because we were just totally overwhelmed.
  • I'm dealing with baby B transverse in my ribs as well and it's very challenging to sit or breathe or do much of anything. I can't imagine having to unpack and settle into a new home too. Hang in there momma!
  • @katw123  She must have shifted because I've had an easier time breathing the last couple days and I'm counting my blessing and hoping baby stays out of my ribs now.
