  • 1. How many weeks are you? 17 weeks today!

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Really good! I have more energy right now and I’m not terribly big yet, so I really feel pretty normal.

    3. Any appt updates? Just had an appt. on Monday, so anatomy scan is in about 3 weeks.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave - I completely cleaned out, reorganized, and labeled my bathroom closet and coat closet yesterday. It feels so good to have those projects done.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume!

I will dress up at school. My team and I are going to be the book character Fly Guy.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 16w3d

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Feeling good! Not as tired as 1st trimester, so going to enjoy this time!

    3. Any appt updates? Nothing til AS on the 1st.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Excited for cool weather this week. DH is out of town til late Tuesday night, so going to take advantage of some "me time" and my house staying in order for a couple of days :)

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume!

Not planning on dressing up. Wish I could get away with dressing up at work, but won't be home until after kids have started. But I am looking forward to next year when will finally have a little one to dress up!

  • 1. How many weeks are you?

    19 Weeks

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally?

Physically - sore, and tired, but good otherwise
Mentally - I am alright, but I go a little crazy when it’s been a few hours between feeling pokes on the inside. Im ready for the defined kicks, rolling, and punches. Even if they hurt.

    3. Any appt updates?

AS next Monday on the 22nd. Fingers crossed baby still is a girl because I went and bought girl clothes yesterday. My 16 week anatomy scan the tech said girl and I went down the internet rabbit hole of how it could be wrong.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?

    kind of both above.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume!

I was going to dress up, but eh I don’t want to put the effort in lol. My son is going to be Charzard the Pokémon. He’s super excited.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.
Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016.
Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Not too bad. I'm still throwing up once a day/maybe once every 2 days, but it's no where near as bad as I was expecting it to be. My hips are starting to get a bit crappy, but that's too be expected.

    3. Any appt updates? I have my 20 week scan tomorrow. So will have a definite baby does or doesn't have LUTO answer tomorrow and will find out the sex by the end of the week. If the baby does get diagnosed with LUTO (which is unlikely because DS1's was likely a random thing) it's treatable. So I'm not as concerned as with the 12 week scan.

Also have an OB appointment on Thursday, to discuss vbac vs repeat c-section, and probably more about my model of care.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Nothing ATM. But chugging along.

    5. Anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume! Halloween isn't big over here (Australia). I think there's a dress up day at daycare, but I haven't thought about it yet.

Little boy due July 31st 2016

  • 1. How many weeks are you?

    19 + 5

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally?

Feeling great both physically and mentally!  My stomach is a little heavier and more awkward when I workout and there's a teeny bit of heartburn when I lay down, but I am not complaining!

    3. Any appt updates?

Had the anatomy scan last Monday. Stayed strong, still team green and everything looked great. Right now my placenta is previa but my OB says it's likely to move up and they'll just keep an eye on it. No restrictions and assuming it moves, I am officially approved for a VBAC.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?

Rave: most of the way done building the changing table for the nursery.
Rant: the crib I want that matches the changing table has been out of stock foreeeevvver and I can't buy it online so now I'm stalking inventory levels at Ikea.com.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume!

Not dressing up this year, I got complacent. I really wanted to be Morticia and Gomez Addams with the husband. One year it will happen.  One of my girls is going to be a witch and the other a fawn.

My favorite year was when my sister, BIL and husband all went as the ninja turtles.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 18+3

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Hitting the second tri sweet spot physically - improved energy and overall feeling decent, if big. Mentally I’m still back and forth, very ready to feel baby moving regularly.

    3. Any appt updates? 20 week OB appt and AS next week.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?  Rant/Rave: I was feeling good yesterday so got a bunch of chores done and got a decent walk in as well. However being on my feet all day translated into some delightful low back (really almost pelvis/tailbone) pain. Stretching was not making a dent either.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume! DS is going to be a firefighter. In the past I’ve done something to coordinate with him, but I’m thinking i want to do something bump related (and can’t come up with a coordinating idea). Might just do a bump pumpkin tee.

All time favorite Halloween costume- 80’s dancer! Shiny leggings, leg warmers, high legged leotard, off the shoulder ballet slipper sweatshirt and a side pony. Comfortable and warm too!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 16+5

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Physically, good! Appetite like a teenage boy  Mentally, the emotions are raging! Every little thing right now seems to send me into a meltdown. Our new cat (we've only had her 2 weeks) met her sisters this weekend and it's been lots of spitting and hissing, but no moves for an actual attack. I legit spent 20 minutes crying because I just wanted them all to get along and ignore each other, and the new kitty is hissing whenever she sees another cat. I'm definitely mentioning this to my OB. I know I'm going to be more emotional, but I kind of feel like this is a little more than normal. If it's normal, she'll tell me, and if not, then she knows about it and we can see if there's anything to do.

    3. Any appt updates? appt next monday! Too early for anatomy scan, though. :(

    4. Rants/raves/questions? i finally have an appetite! gimme ALL the food.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume! Nope, no Halloween costumes here. We live out in the country and aren't expecting trick or treaters. My favorite halloween costume as a kid was an angel outfit - a long white nightgown, wings, and a halo made of tinsel.

    2. Physically: food makes me nauseous, but being hungry makes me sick. Having back pain and difficulty sleeping on my left side.
Mentally: still am not feeling baby move. I think I felt lo once about two weeks ago in the middle of the night. So not thrilled about that. I keep reminding myself its normal and I still have time to feel baby.

    3. Next appt on 29th. 20w plus as. Hoping to stay strong as team green.

    4. Rave: weaning off zofran! Rant: tired my mom keeps asking if I've felt baby move.
Other rant: my mom was there during my last loss at 20 weeks. She didn't want to tell her family about this little one until we got through the 20w appt. I was fine with that. I don't see or talk to them much as they live across the country. Also, haven't told my brother yet as I haven't seen him in over a year, and I'd like to tell him in person. As we've been telling people in person, mentioned you can share, but on dl. Well my wife's aunt put something on FB about us being pregnant. I don't believe many saw it, but we sent her a message saying we're not announcing it yet on fb. Then called mil to reiterate that you can tell people, to share the news as we have huge families, but they need to keep it to theselves.

    5. Not big on Halloween. I'm ready for thanksgiving and Christmas music. That could be due partially to being how far along in the pregnancy I will be.

    2. Physically- my hips are really starting to hurt, but I’m enjoying less nausea and more energy. Not normal energy, but more. Mentally I am doing ok. I haven’t had much anxiety which is wonderful. I have been short tempered and irritable and I’m defintiely blaming that on hormones.

    3. Passed my first glucose screen (I’m high risk and had to test early). Counting down the days until the AS on the 30th!!

    4. Rave- my MIL is being sort of awesome, which isn’t totally normal. Not sure it will last but I’m staying hopeful. Rant- my contract job has gotten really busy, so much so that even a lunch break is challenging. I sit all day, but with my aching hips and back the long hours are getting to me. My boss sent a note to the team criticizing our quality and I about lost it!!!! I couldn’t believe they are asking for more while they are overworking is.

    5. I love Halloween. So looking forward to dressing up 2 littles next year. I don’t get to dress up this year because I am working, but my fave costume was probably She-ra. Hulk Hogan was a close second though.

    2. Physically- I'm feeling pretty good. My back hurts after sitting for a long time at work and is a little stiff when I wake up in the morning. The last few nights I've woken up in the middle of the night when I turn over in my sleep so I'm trying to learn how to sleep on my sides. Its harder than I thought it would be.
Mentally- I'm doing really good. 20 week scan was great so just trying to remain as positive.

    Next Appt in 3 weeks

4.Rave: I did go to a prenatal chiropractor last week after a go ahead from my dr. She was amazing and I set up more appts with her. She is also part of a midwife group and everything was super gentle so I feel very comfortable with her

5.I like Halloween but I'm not a huge fan and we dont really get into it. I more so like to see all the kids and families in our neighborhood trick or treating. We usually open our house as a stopping point for snacks and drinks for parents.
  • @mschanandlerbong1214 Thank you!! My first loss anniversary is this week too. The annual day of rememberance always makes me feel better because of the strong community of others that’s I’ve met that have been through the same. Women like you!!!

  • Ha Ha, I kept looking for this thread, wondering where it was. Apparently I can't remember what day of the week it is!

    copied over from Week 1:

Due date: 3/2 (though moved up to end of Feb. per OB)

Any appointments? Questions?: I don't know where to start. How about, I hate the 20 week anatomy scan. It tends to bring issues to light in my pregnancies and this one is no exception. So they found I have high fluid again. I got referred to a high risk practice 30 min away. The appt was on Monday and after a very long and detailed ultrasound (in which they described my polyhydramnios (high fluid) as severe), the baby's nuchal fold was slightly thick at 6.2mm (they want it under 6). That coupled with the fluid, and they recommended an amnio. I never thought I would get one because they scare me a bit with the risks but if LO has downs, we want to know ahead of time so we can prepare. So I had that done, then I had to have an early glucose test to see if the fluid is caused by gestational diabetes. After waiting around for an hour, they drew 9 vials of blood. I was then tapped and proceeded to do as little as possible on Tuesday to recover. I got the call yesterday that I failed my 1 hr test by a small amount, now I have to go in to have the 3 hour test. Hoping to hear back on the amnio results by Friday.

Rants/Raves?: See above, need I say more?

How are you feeling?: Again, see above. Pretty frustrated by all this, but thankful that LO is still in there kicking away and no other soft markers were found; heart looks great and so does the brain and other features. This keeps DH and I hopeful for our test results.

    End of copy/paste

GTKY: I think I thought of a good pregnant Halloween costume for myself. I'm going as Kirby the NES character. One of my favorite video games as a kid and with my poly, I can totally relate to Kirby when he blows himself into a big balloon to whack his enemies, etc. It will be cheap and easy, I just bought a mens size light pink hanes sweater online and will fashion his face over my bump out of felt and hot glue. :) Husband is going as the great pumpkin (I also thought of this for myself), I'll just decorate one of his orange sweaters with fabric markers. DD wants to be a ghost (got an old sheet from my mom, easy) and DD2 wants to be a unicorn. Got her a cute, headwarmer with ears and a horn made of fleece. Rest of it will be pretty easy to throw together. Think I will fashion her tail out of tulle.

  • @mschanandlerbong1214 - Thank you for lighting the candle on the 15th. I had planned to do this also but my appt on the 15th (see post above) forced it out of the forefront of my mind. So glad you did it though!
  • @Lbloom I am so sorry you’re dealing with all of that! Hopefully you come through the 3-hour with flying colors (just failed my 1-hour with DS and had to do the 3-hour, too) and that you get good results back from your amnio soon.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 17w2d today.

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Mentally I have been doing pretty well. Still get anxious sometimes but I'm handling it. Wish I could feel movements already cause it would be so reassuring! Physically I'm also pretty good, I've had a brief return of nausea but it's not as bad as before.

    3. Any appt updates? Nothing til AS on the 30th.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Anyone else get so annoyed by the baby talk? I'm glad more people in my life know I'm pregnant now but the little baby talk voice people use sometimes is driving me crazy. Like hi we work together, why would you ever comment on how I'm "getting a little pudge-pudge" ?? Anyway that's my dumb rant of the day haha.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume! I'm not a big Halloween person so nothing for me this year. Favorite costume is a bunny costume my mom made that I and both my brothers wore as toddlers. It was so precious! If she still has it and it hasn't fallen apart, I might have to borrow it for this baby in a couple years!

@Lbloom What a tough week! I'll be thinking of you as you wait on the results. Waiting is the absolute worst. FX for good news very soon.
  • @Lbloom So very sorry for everything you're having to go the right now. FX for great test results and that you have nothing to worry about it.

@diaphena I agree! The baby talk esp when they found about the little pudge you get it annoying. One of the girls in my small group...every time she sees me does that! I have a long torso, so not in the cute bump stage yet.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 18 weeks, due date 3/21

    2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Mentally, I've been alright. I had my loss in May 2018, and once I reached my milestone I felt better. Physically, terrible. This week I was diagnosed with shingles and it is painful.

    3. Any appt updates? Next appt is 10/23 for my 18 week. My doctor was on vacation this past week.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Rant: the shingles is making me miserable. I'm grumpy and I feel awful. It all feels very unfair.

    5. GTKY- anyone dressing up for Halloween? What are your (and/or your kids) costume plans? Bonus: favorite ever Halloween costume!

Hi, I've been a long time reader of this group due to my loss. I'm sorry I haven't jumped in before now... I look forward to being more active on the board.

My MIL bought me one of those shirts that have the pumpkin over the stomach, so I'm going to go casual and wear that.
  • @Lbloom Great news!! So glad to hear it.

@karatepickles Welcome, glad you decided to join in! So sorry about the shingles, that sounds miserable. Hope you feel better quickly.

@kristimh80 People will say the strangest things to pregnant people, haha. I've got a long torso too so I feel your pain on that.
  • @karatepickles welcome!!!

I am in the long torso group as well. My fundal height is measuring 3-4 weeks ahead due to the twins so I’m really showing even though this is the first time I’ve made it to the second trimester (I hate the FTM label because I know that even though I didn’t have LO, I am still a mom to my angels. Sidebar). I have a lot of fear that I’m going to be really scary huge with two so it felt really good to have met a couple other pregnant women this weekend also on babymoon and they both told me how great/small I look. Grass is always greener I guess.

I also had my second pregnancy massage on this trip, and this time I was face down on a pillow with a belly sized cut out. For a couple hours afterwards I had a big increase in what I have come to think of as round ligament pain and of course my PGAL brain kicked in hard. I’m so terrified of too early contraction which of course is more likely with these twins. I ate lunch and took a nap... and now I feel better. A winning combination (lunch and a nap) :). The lady that did my massage was very into pregnancy massage though. She talked to the babies and I liked that.

@3rdtime_charmed glad you are feeling better after food and a nap. I too hate the ftm label. Wish there was a different term. I started showing early. Popped at 16 weeks due to making it to 20 weeks last time so my uterus already new the drill, so to say.

  • So I have a question, or maybe just wondering if it’s  just me, and I feel like this is a better place to ask than the movement thread. I’m 19 weeks now and I think I’ve felt baby move a few times now. But I just can’t seem to believe I’m actually feeling baby.  Don’t know if it’s PGAL brain that’s making me struggle to believe it’s movement, or just because early movements can be hard to distinguish. I really want to feel her move, but just not sure I'm actually feeling it. This came out more of a ramble than a clear question, sorry!
  • @lelkot totally understand. I got to feel mine early too, and I didn’t want to believe it and get my hopes up. As soon as I felt that I knew I was in a whole new ballgame of attachment/worry. My doc confirmed mine for me, they move with Doppler.  So I felt the sensation and sure enough, baby had moved from where she had just listened, so she told me I had it right.
As they move more regularly, a pattern develops and it’s easy to be sure. Mine love the orange juice they have been making me crave (I don’t like orange not pregnant).

  • @lelkcot I have been feeling this way too. The movements I have felt (or I think I have) have been so inconsistent that’s it hard to convince myself that’s what I felt. As I approach 20 weeks I find myself worrying a lot because I don’t feel him move much and the times I do it’s easy convince myself that it’s something else. I’m at the halfway mark between appointments and I find I start worrying a lot at this point because it’s been awhile since I’ve been reassured everything is okay. Some definitive movement would be nice for that reason, but I am trying to be patient.
  • Thank your @3rdtime_charmed and @purpleteacher82, it helps knowing others are dealing with the same questions/worries. I have appointments this week and I seem to get particularly anxious leading up to appointments. I’m really hoping the movement get more distinct for us soon @purpleteacher82!
  • I sympathize with those of you feeling anxious for more consistent, reliable movement. With my first rainbow baby I was a bit of a basket case until that happened. Luckily I was feeling movement consistently before the 28 week mark when I was supposed to be officially taking a kick count every day.
