Has anyone’s baby had a tiny cyst found in ultrasound?

Hi I’m a first time mom and very anxious about everything. I had my 20 week scan and everything looked perfect and healthy, there was just one tiny tiny cyst found on her head. My docotor keeps reassuring me that there is no need for worry and this is still considered a normal finding. Naturally I’m freaking out and assuming the worst. She says my little girl has no increased risk of anything being wrong because of this. My husband and I are both young and healthy and we have no history in our families of any genetic/health issues. I am still freaking out. We will go in for a scan at 28 weeks to make sure the cyst hasn’t grown or has gone away all together. Has anyone gone through this? I need some peace in mind to get me through the next two months.

    Hello,

    It may be hard to relax, but I would listen to your doctors advice. They see a lot of pregnancies and if they say not to worry, then I would say you are in the clear. My last kid had a tiny white particle show up on her heart at the 20 week scan that they said was a calcified particle, but it cleared up on it's own before birth. They will monitor it for you, I'd say rest easy. Baby still has a lot of developing to do before birth and many things can change in the next 20 weeks.

    Sorry, @kt2019mom, I noticed that you have been posting around here for awhile. But, as I said, if I were you I would relax. Don't stress for 2 months, that's not good for the baby either, congrats on having a girl!

    I’m a lurker and STM (at least I’ve introduced myself though). So my first pregnancy our lil guy had small cysts on his brain. We went for follow up/3D specialized ultrasound and they cleared up. My doctor, ultrasound tech, and  a few friends have said it’s common and most common in boys. There are so many ‘common pregnancy’ things you don’t hear about until your actually pregnant. Once you have your baby you won’t have time to focus on all the little things😀

    I hope it clears up by my next scan. I’m sick about it and have to wait two months before they’ll even do another scan. It’s just one tiny one she said but I’m still freaking out. I can’t sleep, focus, or eat.
