Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How long do you leave baby in the crib awake?

I have a 10 month old baby girl. She does not like being rocked to sleep for naps. So our usual routine is for her to eat, then I'll leave her in her crib for her to fall asleep. Sometimes, she's out within minutes. Other times, she'll stay awake and play in her crib, even through she is also showing signs of being tired like yawning and rubbing her eyes. As long as she doesn't seem upset, I tend to leave her in her crib until she falls asleep. What is the longest stretch of time that would be okay to leave her in the crib awake? I bring her down or tend to her right away if shes upset, but if shes just rolling around or babbling, she can stay up there for quite a while.

If she is awake and content let her be until she falls asleep OR she becomes upset/irritated then I would get her.
