@Stormiewinter I've always been told sudafed (the real stuff, pseudoephedrine, not PE) is a no any time during pregnancy, which is miserable for me as I have chronic sinusitis and live on sudafed normally. That's really interesting. I'm gonna ask my (new) OB what they recommend bc it would be a lifesaver if I could even take it occasionally when the sinus pain is really bad.
@DressageDarling good to know there’s something (safe) that can be prescribed! I’ll ask my OB at my appt next week. I’ve also heard that acupuncture can help, though I’ve never tried it.
@loon2019 I am so thankful that my migraines haven’t come back because of the pregnancy! I would definitely mention it at your appointment as just about every migraine med the OTC you can’t take!
@Courtster5609 I also got a yeast infection. Monistat 7 worked for me but it's also good to be eating yogurt and/or taking probiotics - yeast infections and UTIs are more common during pregnancy. I didn't have any spotting issues but I could see how that could happen.
I just sneezed and my RLP was so bad on both sides it brought tears to my eyes. I don’t remember it happening so early last time! Lol was so afraid I might pee myself that the RLP caught me really off guard
New symptom in the last few days: I've been getting bad low back pain. Worse at night while trying to sleep. Low, like in my sacrum. I read that constipation can cause back pain too so I'm hoping a good 💩💩 helps! it's too early for static/ posterior pelvic pain at 9 weeks, right??
@kbelly777 a pregnancy pillow really helped with my lower back pain when I started getting it last time. It must have helped align my hips/back better while I slept. Mine started a couple of weeks ago sporadically, thankfully it’s not too bad yet though. I tried to use my pillow the other day but it’s too hot still. Hopefully I can hold out until it’s cooler at night!
@kbelly777 I’ll respond to your 💩 post here! My lower back pain was from a UTI. Just a thought, I’m not sure if you’ve had your labs done yet or not. My 💩 cramps are in my lower left abdomen and through my rectum. They SUCK! But just a thought about the back pain. Hope you find some relief!
Well, my nausea went away at 8 weeks, which is great but making me a bit nervous. Also found out today I likely have bacterial vaginosis, ugh, so I'll start antibiotics tomorrow. Of course I googled and am now more nervous. Just when I was priding myself on how calm and cool I was being this pregnancy in comparison to my last!
Why is the reflux starting so early this time?! This was a late 2nd trimester symptom with my first pregnancy and it was a sporadic thing even then. I get that every pregnancy is different, but shouldn’t there be a rule that no pregnancy is worse than the previous one?! Can we make that a thing?
I usually don’t post on the symptoms threads because I usually don’t have any.. but holy Toledo have I been nauseous the last couple of days! I’ve mever had morning sickness a day in my life and if this is what it’s like.. HARD PASS. I have so much sympathy for you all! This sucks.

I feel like my symptoms keep switching back and forth between extremes. First I was super hungry and wanted to eat everything in sight and now I have no appetite and everything seems to disagree with my stomach. I had really bad constipation and now I’ve got horrible diarrhea. My internal temperature seems to keep switching between too hot and too cold. It’s like being on a symptom roller coaster.
Today I wanted a smothered burrito from taco bell. Then I realized they quit making them years ago and that I hadn't eaten one since I was pregnant with my son.
I still freaking want one!

@honeymorochdubrovsky Same! I'm 10 weeks today and thought things would start tapering down... negative. I had zero morning sickness with my first pregnancy, so this is all new to me.
@loon2019 definitely call your doctor! None of the natural remedies work for me. “Getting in front of it” by taking Tylenol and lying down at the first hint of one coming on helped, as did forcing myself to have at least a little caffeine even when I had a huge coffee aversion. I think up to 200mg is considered safe and my doctor told me to affirmatively keep my intake up because it’s easier to avoid getting a migraine than to safely treat one once you have it.
I confess I took an Immitrex once in my first trimester in my last pregnancy. It was the middle of the night and I didn’t even ask my doctor about it until the next appointment. I was like writhing and crying on the bathroom floor. The babies were fine. But I wish I had asked in advance and had something known to be safe already prescribed and home with me.
If it makes you feel better, I didn’t have any migraines from then (the end of the first trimester) until I stopped breastfeeding at 15 months old and got my period back. It was glorious, and apparently that is common! Fingers crossed that you have the same experience.
I felt great over the weekend (which freaked me out), but I’m back to being extremely nauseous. I am usually a big water drinker, like a gallon a day, but can’t even force myself to drink more than like 12 oz. I had to send DH to the store last night for some Gatorade and ginger ale.
I was so proud of myself for eating real food and then I found a hair in it. This is my leftovers from dinner the other night. It is not my hair. I can't win.
My appetite is out of control it's so bad, you guys. I eat 5 meals a day. Not like, 5 little meals. I'm talking 5 normal-sized meals. I'm legit hungry when I eat, too. My stomach growls and I HAVE to eat or else the nausea gets so terrible. I eat breakfast, first lunch at noon, second lunch at 3:00, first dinner at 7:00 and second dinner at 10:30 or 11:00. I tried skipping second dinner one night and I woke up insane from hunger. If I skip 2nd lunch I get serious nausea. I can tell my body is in over-drive. I get winded walking up a flight of stairs or walking quickly up a slight incline. It's bad. I guess I just have to take it easy and figure out healthy ways to cope with this...
@eatinwatermelonseeds - I'm not awake enough to eat 1st breakfast but I definitely follow the rest of the schedule here. My afternoon tea is a dish of Stoufer's macaroni and cheese.
@expandcontract - I was only on meat for a while but now I'll literally eat anything. I'm lucky that my cravings oscillate between junk food and health food. Like yesterday's first dinner was a McDonald's cheeseburger, fries, and hot fudge sundae. Second dinner was a salmon filet and tomato salad. All of it was equally delicious.
AnyoAnyone else getting awful acne? My face is broken out with huge zits everywhere.

@psychobutthead yessss! I feel like I'm going through puberty again, it's awful. With my son, my skin got gorgeous. I had pretty awful acne before I got pregnant and being pregnant just gave me the most beautiful skin... And it stayed that way! This baby is undoing all the beauty my son gave me 😭😭
@psychobutthead YES! My skin is so out of whack. To make matters worse my normally sensitive skin is even more sensitive and prone to crazy redness, and my skin has gone from slightly dry to both super oily and super dry at the same time, pimples are showing up like crazy and they are all the super painful and deep kind.
Guyzzz....I had a pretty crappy day in terms of symptoms, today. Absolute exhaustion, headache, nausea, stiff heavy neck, SOB. All. Day. I debated the whole time if I should go home early sick. First trimester is hard, dude! It's the only time I've felt like I can't go on and I just want to quit my job and be a SAHM. I struggled the same way when I was pregnant with my daughter, too. Women don't get enough credit for what we endure. And I hate that it's "normalized" because millions of women have been going through this for centuries. Sure, that's true, but that doesn't make it any less difficult.
