Trouble TTC

Hello all! Introduction :)

Hello all,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I searched for a community like this to get/give support. DH and I have been TTC for almost 11 months now. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 5/6 months ago. We’ve tried OPKs, tracking BBT, and I’ve tried tracking my cycle. I used to be fairly regular, but my cycle has been all over the place for about a year now. OPKs have never given me a positive reading. I never know when I’m ovulating. Sometimes I go a couple months without a period! It’s so frustrating. My doctor wants us to keep trying for a few more months before we move forward with medication of any kind. I’m trying very hard to be patient.

I know my DH is trying to be supportive, but he doesn’t really understand. I’m really looking forward to reading the different posts here, and maybe get some ideas of we can try in the future. Sending good vibes to everyone here! Thank you for reading.

Re: Hello all! Introduction :)

  • @pumpkinp0p Welcome! Sorry that you find yourself here, but glad that you found this board! I’ve only myself just recently joined about a month ago and have really felt welcomed and supported by this group of women, so I hope you find the same level of support!

How very frustrating that your doctor still wants you to continue trying when you’re pretty much at the one year mark and also have a dx of PCOS! I know how hard it is to be patient when you just want to move forward with some form of plan/treatment. I don’t have a dx of PCOS, but have irregular cycles and have definitely felt the frustration of negative OPKs and not having a clear picture when it comes to ovulation, cycle length, etc. Do you think you’ll stay with your doctor and do some rounds of medication like Clomid or are you considering a referral to a RE?

And, yeah, I think I know where you’re coming from in regards to YH not completely understanding. My DH is very supportive, but he internalizes his emotions a lot as his way of coping, so it’s hard sometimes when we have such different coping mechanisms with IF (I tend to want to talk and moan about it non-stop, hence why I decided to join a support board lol).

Hope these next few months fly by fast and that you can start a treatment plan! Feel free to jump in to the weekly check-ins with everyone else!

  • Hello,

Thank you so much for the welcome!

I know! I’m surprised we have to wait so long. I wasn’t diagnosed with PCOS when we first started trying, and I was coming off of BC. She said that the BC can take months to get out of my system, so she wasn’t worried. She thought that the BC was causing my irregular cycles, so I guess she didn’t really start counting until my cycles actually got a little more regular. I really like this office though, so I’m going to stick with her for now. We’ll see what happens once I go back.

I would really like to try Clomid. I honestly have no idea what other treatments are out there, so I’m nervous. The only reason I even know about Clomid is because I have two friends that have taken it.

I am the same way! I need to talk about it. It makes me feel so much better when I can get it out. I’m so happy I posted. Thank you so much for replying. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)
