  • @indigoheightsblog While I am not having a symptom free 2nd trimester, I'm with you, others should not tell you how to feel. Personally, I am starting to get triggered by comments along the line of how things are better now that I am in the second trimester. This has not been my experience and I wish people would stop telling me how things 'are' or how I should be feeling. Every pregnancy is different, let's not assume you know how I feel because of your own experience or what you have heard about the experience.
  • @mayoduck totally. and when you really look at the nitty gritty, i can't say i'm completely symptom FREE - but my symptoms come and go and when they come they are so minor and fast fleeting. it's common to have a "good" 2nd trimester but when you had a "good" first one as well.... what does that exactly mean? and in your case too - when you go from feeling great to feeling less great... you're also in the minority! definitely goes to show you that all pregnancies are different, but sometimes (for me) it's tough to remember that through a cloud of anxiety.
  • @indigoheightsblog mild symptoms for sure is not the walk in the park others make it out to be! Hang in there! Hopefully baby will give you plenty of kicks between your next us and now to ease your worries!

    Any appointments? Questions?

Anatomy scan next Tuesday, super excited for that last ultrasound (I only get 2 this pregnancy, and had them at every visit with my MFM last time, so this is an adjustment)

    Rants/Raves?

Rant: there is a mom in my girls' 1st grade class that I cannot stand, and my girls are friends with her daughter.  I took one for the team back in January and took them to her birthday party, and the father of the birthday girl had decided to bring his toddler son to the party (while holding him in a bjorn that he was waaaaay too big for) while this poor kid was actively barfing with the stomach flu (had to step over a barf pile while leaving).  I was pisssssed.  And then she didn't rsvp or show for the girls' party, or write a thank you for the gifts the girls got her kid,  which is just terrible manners. I saw a note on the table this morning with this lady's name and number, asked what it was about and my kids told me it was for scheduling a play date.  HEYYYYLL NO.  I told my husband to have fun!

    How are you feeling?

I feel great!  Hungry for all the food  :)

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life?

I am not a drinker (hardly ever), but mimosas and good sushi. And my normally tiny waist.

  • Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions? A/S is in 10 days and I'm anxious/excited. I just want to know he's growing okay in there.

Rants/Raves? Rant: I've been MIA here because work has been beyond stressful. I can't really explain it, but I've been barely holding it together. Today is better than last week, but still rough. Last week I wasn't eating or sleeping at all and crying from the time I left work until about midnight every single night. My anxiety has been higher than ever. I couldn't even concentrate on a tv show. I know that kind of stress can't be good for the baby, but I really couldn't do anything about it. I've lost the four pounds I had gained so far and my (usually low) blood pressure was at the very top end of normal. So I'm a little nervous, but I'm still feeling him move around in there, so FX it's all okay. Rave: My BFF is coming for a last minute visit. I have never needed to see her more than right now. She's seriously the best.

How are you feeling? Mentally, terrible. Physically, okay. I can't stop pooping, so there's that. lol

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Pre-TTC, not stressing about every detail of life and my body. I did that while TTC both kids and breastfeeding the first, so this has basically been going on for over 4 years. When I'm done breastfeeding this baby, I'm really looking forward to not having to pay attention to every tiny detail of my body at all times.

(Sorry this post is such a bummer. I'll be back to cheery one of these days.)

  • @indigoheightsblog If it helps at all I had a basically symptom-free first pregnancy, and I can relate to the anxiety. And then on top of worrying I felt guilty that I was worrying about not feeling terrible. It helped a lot for me when the baby started to move so I could feel it every day.

I hope your baby girl will start to move and shake in there so you can have some daily reassurance.
  • @lovesclimbing YAY for your first appointment!! I don't know how you waited this long without going crazy.
    @mayoduck Feel better!
@mamaoftwomonkeys Yes to margaritas. I really miss margaritas.
@indigoheightsblog I feel you on the not being able to hang. DH's cousin was in town this weekend and wanted to go to the bars downtown after the football game. Normally I would all in for a night out with her, but I seriously can't hang anymore.
@maggiemadeit Congrats on the half marathon!! I'm supposed to be running a 4 miler in 3 weeks, though as of right now I'm not sure how that's going to be possible since I haven't trained at all.

  • @maggiemadeit - definitely reassuring to hear! and yes the gulit at NOT feeling awful is soooo real! i hope she moves soon too. I'm 18 weeks on Wednesday so I'm really hoping it's any day now that it starts to become a consistent and noticeable thing......... realistically it could be a matter of weeks though. Fingers crossed!

This thread is for those due March 1 to March 7

    Due date: March 1

Any appointments? Questions? I have an anatomy Scan Thursday. Can’t wait to find out the gender for sure!

    Rants/Raves? Not really.

    How are you feeling? Great.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Not that I drink a lot, but I miss having one every now and then.

@indigoheightsblog moving will become more consistent soon, hang in there. I didn’t have a ton of symptoms my first pregnancy and once the moving started, I felt a lot better.

  • Due date: March 7th

Any appointments? Questions?  I have an ultrasound on Friday afternoon. I haven't had one since I was 12 weeks. I can't wait to see her!

Rants/Raves? Rants: I am still super nauseous and have major food aversions.  I have only gained a few pounds.  I am worried I am not gaining or eating enough.  Raves: I had a great weekend getaway with my family this past weekend.  We lounged by the pool and relaxed for 3 days.

How are you feeling? Other than still nauseous, I am tired all the time.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life?  I miss beer and sex!

  • This thread is for those due March 1 to March 7

    Due date: March 9

Any appointments? Questions? Not until Oct 18!

Rants/Raves? I am FINALLY going days without nausea not everyday but at least having some days without it so that’s a welcome surprise! Also been feeling the baby move some lately.

How are you feeling? Very tired, hungry, and the cravings are out of control!

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? My energy I used to be able to work out no problem at least 3-4 days/week but I haven’t worked out once since I have been pregnant. I miss it.

  • Due date: 3/1

Any appointments? Questions? Had a midwife appointment last week and got to hear the heartbeat which is always reassuring. Anatomy scan not for another two weeks!

Rants/Raves? I'm just feeling overwhelmed with life in general at the moment. Research, classes, planning a wedding, being pregnant, taking on additional projects at work I should probably have said "no" to, blahblahblah. I just feel like I'm being pulled in so many directions and I'm half-assing everything just to get by.

How are you feeling? Tired, hungry, stressed, but overall okay. I think I've been experiencing round ligament pain frequently. I'm getting over a cold and started coughing yesterday morning and my abdomen hurt so effin bad for a few seconds that I wanted to cry. We also went out to dinner last night and I threw on a dress for the first time in weeks and I looked in the mirror and was like.. holy crap.. I guess I do have a bump. I work outdoors and frequently wear field pants and a baggy shirt for mosquito purposes and don't look pregnant at all. The dress suddenly made me feel pregnant which was nice but also bizarre and made me feel a little self-conscious.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Like most other people mentioned, I miss being able to unwind with a drink occasionally. I also miss not having to pee all the time. Working out in the field means I don't always have access to bathrooms, and I'm not in remote enough areas where I can just pop a squat.. This means I spend a lot of time either in pain or in really nasty porta potties. I also used to just not drink as much if I knew I wouldn't be near a bathroom but I obviously need to be more careful about staying hydrated now. Blah.

  • I've been basically MIA since school started at the end of August so I'm attempting to jump back in to the conversation!

    Due date: March 4th

Any appointments? Questions? I have my anatomy scan on 10/15. No questions at the moment.

Rants/Raves? Rave: All of the genetic testing has come back negative and we know LO is a boy. Having good results is quite a relief, as I'm AMA, so it was definitely a concern.

How are you feeling? I'm feeling really good! I think I've felt what basically feels like popcorn popping in there, but as a FTM, it's hard to be sure. I've had what seemed like major allergies basically since I found out I'm pregnant, but I think it's finally letting up a bit (knock on wood).

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? I feel like it sounds really bad, but I really miss having drinks at night and with dinner.

  • Due Date: March 2nd

Appointments: Just had my anatomy scan Friday. Everything looks great and it's a boy!!

Rants/Raves: Baby is moving a TON which is fun but also weird. I seriously don't know when this little guy actually sleeps.

How are you feeling?: I feel like the fatigue is kicking back in and I'm REALLY hungry in the evenings. I'm also having a lot of random round ligament pain.

GTKY: I miss playing flag football and mountain biking. I've always enjoyed a lot of contact sports and I can't safely participate in any of them. I also miss not having this crazy craving for Taco Bell...I didn't even like Taco Bell before I got pregnant!
  • Due date: March 1st

Any appointments? Questions? I have my anatomy scan on 10/9 I cant wait haven't seen anything since the initial scan only heartbeat so I'm getting so anxious and excited

Question: Has anyone seen a chiropractor during pregnancy? How did you find someone you trusted during this time?

Rants/Raves? Rant: still pretty tired all the time. I've been late to work more often than I would like its not a huge deal bc I dont really have set hours by I like to be consistent. Rave: We went to a wedding this past weekend and dressed up and it was so much fun. Hubby was the best date and got me a second plate of food lol

How are you feeling? I'm doing good. Have a few aches and pains. My back is pretty sore in the morning. I try to sleep on my sides but I usually wake up on my back.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Energy, wine, being able to stay out later than 9pm lol same as everyone else.

  • @bluebell08 i've gone to a chiropractor twice during this pregnancy for my neck. i started by making sure it was ok with my OBGYN and they said very confidently that it was fine, so i didn't really think any extra research was ncecssary.... however after taking general recommendations from local friends, i called and mentioned my pregnancy - to which the chiropractor told me she had worked with many pregnant women before. talking to her made me feel comfortable! (i think it also helped to know that the chiropractor was a woman with kids of her own).
  • Due date: March 9th

Any appointments? Questions? My next appointment is October 22nd. No questions right now I don't think.

Rants/Raves? MH is simply amazing. He defers to my taste buds almost all the time for food now. He holds me and let's me cry when I'm feeling emotional and doesn't look at me like I'm crazy. He always tells me I'm beautiful. He is super careful not to wake me up when he gets up super early. I couldn't ask for a better hubby.

How are you feeling? Blah. I haven't felt the best today. I don't technically feel "bad" but I'm not feeling great. I just feel slightly off. Like my stomach has been kind of flip flopping a lot today but for no reason. I have had a headache for two days now. And I'm just grumpy.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Too many things to list. Basically... Everything. I don't like being pregnant.. But I know it will be worth it in the end.
  • @bluebell08 dd and I have the same chiropractor and we started going there to deal with her torticollis and general birth trauma (nothing serious), so you may look into finding a family style office that has experience with babies too. It has been immensely helpful for both of us. I do feel like we lucked out with dd being an easy baby, but it's so hard to distinguish nature vs nurture, and I can't help but feel that her regular Chiro care has played a part.

  • Due date: March 8th (Wait, have the dates for week 1 always been Mar 1-7th, and I’ve just been posting along completely oblivious?)

Any appointments? Questions? Next appointment is not until Oct 12th.

Rants/Raves? Rave: I’ve enjoyed a recent uptick in motivation. Made a lot of progress (mostly decision making) in a few short days. Rant: The uptick was brief and I wanted to ride it out for a couple more days. Now it’s back to doing things despite not wanting to because that’s what adults do :D

How are you feeling? Pretty good, lots of abdominal stretching it seems. And I think I’ve finally “popped”!

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Being able to walk and move at a normal pace. I swear I slowed down to glacial speed as soon as I found out I was pregnant :D  Also, I was really bummed this week when I realized I wouldn’t be able to enjoy my homegrown pomegranate Prosecco this year. I picked the first ripened pomegranate this weekend and immediately realized the harvest would be all finished before baby arrives.

  • @navete It’s not you, it’s me! I wrote the dates wrong. My brain has turned to absolute mush this week.

So cool that you grow pomegranates! I love them, but I am sure our grocery store version here in New England isn’t quite as good as garden fresh!
  • @maggiemadeit I would have done this too. March 8 is technically the first day of the second week in March and I always thought it odd that our week 1 check-ins included more dates than any of the others (I think previous check-ins have gone all the way up to March 10?  + Late February dates). I never had a problem with it, I just never quite understood how this division came to be.
  • @navete pomegranate Prosecco sounds amazing! Will it keep until you can drink it?
  • I think it's done that way because one group has to have extra dates in it (either the first or last, probably), otherwise one of the groups would only have three days in it. If you did it strictly in one week chunks, you'd have the 1-7, 8-14, 15-21, and 22-28 groups. And then you'd have a tiny group with just 29, 30 and 31.

    Due date: 3/2

Any appointments? Questions? Anatomy Scan on October 16. I will definitely breathe a sigh of relief after that one.

Rants/Raves? We found out Sunday that we’re having a little boy! Our gender reveal didn’t go 100% as planned (hubs and I pulled up a little early and swore we saw the blue balloons being used for the box-the grocery store messed up my mom’s order and she was a little behind fixing the box), BUT I’m over the moon excited for my little guy to be here. I originally thought girl at first but have been leaning toward boy lately, and I have officially embraced the boy mom life.

How are you feeling? Exhausted still. Getting up for work has been a bit of a challenge.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Sleeping on my stomach. I’ve been trying to train myself since we found out just because I knew the day would come that I couldn’t. Well, we’ve hit that way and I just want to roll on my stomach so badly!

ETA: a typo was driving me crazy!

  • Due date: 3/3

Any appointments? Questions? Anatomy scan and appointment on Oct 19th! So excited to find out if we are adding another girl or adding a boy!

Rants/Raves? I am still sick, and I’m sick of being sick. That is about it.

How are you feeling? I am on an antibiotic now for walking pneumonia and a double ear infection. Other than that my appetite is back. I’m still tired but not like first tri. New is this pressure/ligament pain going on. I have started to notice baby moving and it’s becoming more consistent, which is cool.

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? I miss my running community. This past month I’ve had to stop running because I’ve been sick.

    Dx: Non-IR PCOS
    Baby Girl K #1 Born 3/8/14
    Baby Girl K #2 EDD 3/3/19
  • @maggiemadeit I figured it was 50/50 between a typo and me being an oblivious preggo brain, I woulda stuck with you guys regardless  :p

@bluebell08 My post was misleading...the only “homegrowing” I do is pick the ripened pomegranate in the backyard (of which I had no part in growing), juice it, then pour into a glass of Prosecco :D Maybe I could try to keep a couple pomegranates untill March though...
  • Due date: 3/6

Any appointments? Questions? Anatomy scan is the morning of 10/16 and regular check up is that afternoon!

Rants/Raves? My dog is a herding dog and two days ago he nipped me (harder than he ever has before) to herd me away from some dogs barking behind a fence. I cried when I told my DH about it on the phone because it still hurt and he told me that night that he wondered if maybe I was overreacting out of hunger. Um. No. I cried because I was hurting and mad at the dog and worries about him herding the baby. Plus hormones. Nothing to do with hunger. Not an overreaction.

How are you feeling? Other than the above? Either really hungry or really full/bloated after eating. Some tension headaches and hip pain. I don't really know if I have felt the baby moving yet

GTKY: What do you miss most about your non-pregnant life? Gluten free beer, normal sized boobs, my waist/fitting into most of my clothes, energy to work out
