TTC After a Loss

RE question *TW*

Hi Ladies

I have had a total of 5 losses. Three CP, one MC and one MMC. *TW*!I have two live children end of *TW*

I saw a RE yesterday. I went years ago and nothing was detected wrong with me. This time he was worried about my shortened follicular phase. He thought Clomid could help normalize my cycle thus having an adequate environment for pregnancy. I am super nervous about this plan even though it makes sense. I am just trying to process this all.

I am on the fence if I want to take it or not.

Thanks for any input
Sara

Re: RE question *TW*

  • I have no experience. But many ladies here have and I'm sure they will weigh in (but dont panic if it not right away, weekends are slower). I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your losses. I am sure your doc isn't leading you wrong. I hope you are able me an informed decision that you are happy with.

  • I also have no experience with clomid. I am so sorry for your losses. I hope you can find information and support here, though.
  • I’m so sorry for your losses.  I have no experience with clomid but used femara.  They work similarly. There are a few things I’ve read about clomid.  Clomid sometimes doesn’t work for women.  The research I’ve read says that for the women where clomid doesn’t work femara will work for a lot of those women.  The other thing I’ve read about clomid is that is can cause mood swings.  I only know one person IRL to take clomid and she got pretty moody.  She hated how she felt and told RE so he switched her to femara and she had no issues.  I went to same RE as friend on clomid and he never recommended clomid but I’m over 40 so I think that’s why.  There are several women on here that have used clomid with no issues and a few on here with similar experiences to my friend.  I would just pay close attention to your body and if you notice any changes I would discuss with RE so he change medication.  Maybe discuss both meds with him/her before starting clomid.  Hopes this helps
  • I’m don’t know anything about clomid but I wanted to say I’m so sorry about your losses.
  • I’m so sorry for your losses! I have also never been on clomid but my sister has it gave her a regular 28 day cycle. I have been on femara as the latest research does recommend it over clomid in my situation.
