R/R: Rant: No rants today! Rave: It's almost the weekend! My DH and I have a wedding we're going to that should be really fun! The only silver lining to our IUI fail is that I can drink alcohol lol.

CS/Q: Nothing to see here. Thinking about not temping these next 2 IUI cycles. It stresses me out too much.

    From yesterday:
@nomangos23 - I did look at the symptoms of hypothyroidism and I really didn't have any of the symptoms. *TW LC*
I am still BFing my 12 month old, so I'm attributing the rocky temps to that even though I can't find any sources to back up my theory. We are working on weaning in the next 3 weeks (mom-led weaning), so I'm hoping next cycle I might have a better chart.

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 19

WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, CM, OPKs, HIO

R/R: I feel really behind on current events. Someone mentioned something about today being the day for this new judge, and I was like, what? Also I didn't vote in primaries because I didn't keep myself informed. I'm the person I used to judge and I hate it, lol. Excuse me while I go read some news.
Also, I'm behind on my bills and receipts this month, and I'm not going to have any time this weekend because we have another two sororities that we are going to be the "responsible adults" for. I don't feel responsible right now  :s Can they make days be like 30 hours long? Or add an extra day to the weekend, yeah that'd be nice.

CS/Q: Another +opk! How many can a girl have?? A small temp rise, so I'm hoping for another jump tomorrow.

@marebear15 I'm in the same place as you in regards to current events haha. It's a lot to keep up with! I always get 3 positive OPKs and it's somewhat frustrating... so I feel you there! Just gotta keep HIO (:

R/R:  Pretty excited that I've been eating better this week and getting more active. I finally got back into kickboxing, which I loved. Unfortunately though, once I move to the TWW board, I think I should probably go easy in the class.

CS/Q: I'm still confused on the PreSeed situation. Is it just sperm FRIENDLY or does it truly assist the sperm. I'm nervous to use it because it has parabens. I know there are other options, but they don't seem to be tested. I guess I'm just not convinced that any of them are safe and I don't want to risk my own health or the health of a potential baby...but I really want a BFP.
  • Options
@crookshanks10 - Oh good! I'm glad I'm not alone in the long LH surges. We are still doing EOD, so I'm not too tired yet lol.

@chichiphin - It's a private conservative college, so probably not as crazy as you're imagining. But 40+ girls on a bus can be pretty crazy!

@nightdreamr13 - From my knowledge of PreSeed is that it's sperm friendly, i.e. doesn't have spermicide as many lubricants do. The only way it assists sperm is by providing enough lubricant for it to go where they need to go. If your body is producing enough lubricant, than it's not necessary, and your natural lubricant is much better for the sperm.
  • Options
@nightdreamr13 I probably wouldn't add it in just yet. All natural is much better, so unless you worry that you need help in regards to CM, I'd give it a little bit longer! (: That's just my opinion!

@marebear15 30 hours in a day would be nice. Reminds me of the “you have the same 24 hours in a day that Beyoncé” phrase to which I’m always like YEAH BUT SHE CAN AFFORD MORE HELP

MH gets home from a work trip Friday, so I’m looking forward to relaxing and HIO until he leaves for his next work trip Tue or Wed (aka CD14 or 15... so cray that I’ve trained myself to think of calendar days in terms of CD)

    Today is O day!!!

R/R: OPK was positive yesterday! I tested twice with different samples just to make sure. It is exciting but I am also starting to feel blasé about this whole TTC thing. I don't want to get my hopes up. I will test again late this morning and this afternoon. Test should be positive again this morning and negative this afternoon.

@crookshanks10 yeah for the silver lining. I hate being in the TWW, not drinking only to have a BFN at the end. I could have had all the cocktails!

@nightdreamr13 PreSeed is both. It also helps the sperm swim up there and wait thanks to the food it provides. But I agree about the parabens. This is giving me pause. I seem to have enough CM so I only use it as a lube. I don't insert it anymore. Your natural CM will always be better.

@crookshanks10 – I love weddings! I’m one of the few people who actually looks forwards to them, I think! And yay for being able to drink! What is your drink of choice?

@marebear15 – I definitely also need a 30 hour day here and there. I feel like the moment I feel “on top” of things, something else comes up and I’m back in the wilderness! 3 days of + OPKs? Have they all been the same level of darkness/positive?

@nightdreamr13 – I believe that PreSeed just is sperm friendly. I don’t think it gives the guys a boost, or anything. FWIW, I could be wrong.

@heml – Add me to the calendar days in terms of CD club! That’s how I think of everything now! Lol

@rikiteacup – Happy O day! I hope this cycle does the trick. :-)

@mamanbebe – Are you doing meditation and spiritual work that focuses specifically on TTC or is it just “general” work on your spirituality?

@crookshanks10 Cheers! Hope you enjoy the wedding and have some wine for all of us who aren't drinking, lol.
@marebear15 I'd take a long weekend over a longer day. Adulting sucks sometimes.
@nightdreamr13 kickboxing sounds like so much fun! It's something I've always wanted to try but was super intimidated by it. Maybe someday.
@heml yay to YH coming home tomorrow! and you can't see me but I'm nodding my head vigorously over your comment about counting days in terms of CD. When someone asks me what day it is, I have to catch myself and not tell them what CD it is (because it definitely isn't the 33rd of the month, FML).
@rikiteacup your timing is fabulous, FX for you! The TTC rollercoaster is so tough. I try to tell myself we're doing everything we can to increase our chances but it doesn't soften the blow for the let down every cycle when you see that BFN or AF. Hugs and high fives for O day today!
@mamanbebe I love receiving packages, even when I know what's in them and it's nothing to be excited about. Yesterday the new water bowl for my cats arrived and it was like Christmas, haha.

R/R: I used to think it was so sexist to blame hormones for my mood swings but I'm going there today. I think I need to start bringing my gym clothes to work so I can sweat out my rage at lunch. Just feeling so defeated. Looking forward to the appt with the RE to hopefully get some more answers. Also ready for AF to rear her ugly head so I can start this cycle over again but who knows what my body is doing right now.
Struggling to find a rave today but finally lost enough weight that my work pants are too big.

CS/Q: Shaping up to be another glorious an-o cycle.

@literatureandink I just love weddings too! I'm thinking either craft beer or wine this Saturday (: What about you, what's your drink of choice? I'm excited for you to go meet with an RE! I love mine and am so glad to be seeing a specialist! Is your RE close by?
@kiki047 Thank you! I definitely will! It gets so old when you don't drink and everyone is like OMG you're pregnant... eyeroll lol. I can't wait to see what kind of help your RE offers you. You'll feel so much better after that appointment. Sorry if it was indeed a an-o cycle :(

@kiki047 Every month when my dog's BarkBox is delivered, I get so ridiculously excited to open it! You would think it was for me! lol

@crookshanks10 My go-to is always prosecco or champagne. It gets me just the right type of tipsy with zero hangover. I also love a good gin & tonic if there is Hendrick's involved! My RE has a million offices, one about 25 minutes from my house and one really close to work, which is key. When I was married to my late husband, we went to a different RE office and I liked them but it feels weird to go there with my partner with the history. I'm glad you like yours!!  I think it makes such a difference!

@nomangos23 I have that one too, but I have had issues sometimes with it never beeping with a captured temp and then turning off, but then other times, it captures a temp in like 10 seconds when my temp is still rising. Maybe mine is just a dud. Happy anniversary! I got MH a monthly pass to a float tank haha. In the past I've tried to get something that I know he would use or needs but hasn't taken the plunge to buy himself.. and I also end up taking him out to dinner and a movie or something of the sort. I like planning though :)

@marebear15 Thank you! I have the non-backlit version which doesn't seem to be working but also not being able to see the screen can be challenging. I'll check that one out. Do you have any issues with it?

@literatureandink Both! I have been superbly stressed out lately and although there are other contributing factors, I believe that TTC is part of it and that the elevated cortisol levels definitely will affect it. I started using a subscription meditation app that has sections for ttc as well as pregnancy. On spiritualism, I'm on a journey, and I think that I need to be more spiritual and spiritually solid for this journey of TTC. I'm going a little new age in what my choices are for my spiritual direction but I am excited to take the plunge :)

@kiki047 FX that AF comes asap!

@kiki047-You should definitely try it! They have groupons for kickboxing all the time. It is nothing like I thought it would be, but it's great! When I was doing it regularly I was so tone and maintained a healthy weight. It's a major confidence booster!
  • Options
@mamanbebe - I haven't had any issues with it. I like it because it takes awhile to take my temp. I know that sounds weird, but I'd much rather have a thermometer wait 2 minutes to give me a temp than 10 seconds like my fever thermometer did. The only "issue" I have with it is the memory function is kind of finicky. If you turn it on after taking a temp, it deletes the first one. So you have to hold the button until it reads "Last" and then unhold to get your stored temp. I've accidentally deleted temps like this.
  • Options
@marebear15 Thanks for the input, mine has been finicky and I am not 100% sure it's my own user error because that brand does take longer to read or if mine really is a dud. I might go ahead and order yours though since having the backlit display would really help now that the sun doesn't rise til around 7am.

*lurking from TWW* @kiki047 sorry about your an-o cycle. :( hopefully the RE can pinpoint answers for you. Also, how the heck did you get your resting heart rate graph on your chart? I tried to figure that one out on FF and I’m lost. Do you use a Fitbit?

@rikiteacup I have the same one minus the backlit display (on mobile so no link), which one do you have?

i used to use a cheap pink bbt thermometer that amazon also sells and it worked really well 5+ years ago.

Edit: Actually, I was wrong, it only has a pink battery cover. This is the one I used to use and it was really consistent:

@nomangos23 Europe was even more epic than I imagined! I completely fell in love with every location! Also Happy Anniversary coming up! Does your husband like mushy stuff? How about a candlelit meal with a nice record on? A super mushy idea that my guy lover was when I gave him a mason jar filled with scrolls of paper. On each scroll was a different reason I love him. He was instructed to open one whenever he needed to smile. Super cheesy I know! Lol

@nomangos23 If you want something simple, but cute for one Valentine’s Day I did a heart out of post it’s that had something I love about him written on each one.

@meatballs37 I have an Apple Watch. Do you have a VIP subscription on FF? It’s called Chart Duo. You can select which sign you want to track alongside your BBT. The icon is right beneath the chart. You have to enter the RHR data manually but it’s pretty cool. I use it as sort of a gauge to tell when one of my temps seems off. I find the watch doesn’t seem nearly as accurate as the Fitbit but it’s the trend I’m looking for not the heart rate itself. I also take the HR data from my sleep app and not apple’s health app, again, the third party app seems more reliable and consistent.

Thank you @nightdreamr13. If I can find a gym around me that does it maybe I’ll give it a try.

    @nomangos23 happy anniversary!

WAYDTGKU: I’m taking my prenatals. I feel like they really helped. Honestly, I don’t know about this month. We’re moving so I feel like we’re mostly just not trying and not preventing because we have other things on our minds that are taking our focus. I also might be scared to try again.

R/R: I made an appointment with a different OBGYN clinic! I’ve been putting it off for so long. I’m pretty proud of myself :) I have to thank you all. Your validation about my doctor made me more motivated to make the appointment.
