Mine? I’m thankful for the fun day ahead of me with my awesome students. We have our zipline field trip today and it’s always so much fun! And these kiddos this year, although talkative, are so darn nice! All of them! So nice! I’m looking forward to this awesome day of memories we’re all about to make.
I'm thankful that Thursdays are Dada Days, and I get to not parent again until Saturday. Other than, you know, doing his laundry and cleaning the house from kiddo mess and working on planning his bday party and all the parenting shit that still happens when he's not home.
I'm thankful for my MIL. This weekend, I planned a getaway for me and my husband to celebrate his birthday. My parents were supposed to stay here and watch my daughter. My mom got "sick" (this is a pattern...) and bailed. So I was either out a lot of $$$ with a very disappointed husband or my MIL would step in to save the day. And she is.. She's driving down after work (4+ hour drive) to spend the weekend here with my daughter. And hubby and I are off to enjoy some R&R in the mountains. WIN!
I am thankful that it is a gorgeous day and my occupational therapy appointment was cancelled so I can go home after work. I asked my hubby to go for a walk with me and I hope he does.
I am thankful for a good first appointment yesterday, and also for my husband keeping DS entertained in the evenings so I can rest for a little bit after work. I’ve felt like complete 💩 these past few days, and he’s stepped up to keep him somewhat out of my hair.
I am thankful my H is coming home early!! We have open house at 5-6:30 and then boy scouts at 7 tonight and I was not looking forward to dragging all 4 boys to both. Now he can take the older two. Woo-hoo!

@nopegoat I love how only having 2 kids at a time is a break... superwoman!
@bluesky24 Your getaway sounds so relaxing! Hope you guys have a great time.
I'm thankful for an awesome boss. I told her I wasn't feeling great and she immediately said I should head home and either work from home or take a sick day tomorrow. She's so supportive and I haven't even told her about the pregnancy yet.
I'm so thankful for my H! He's really stepped up the last few days while I've been sick and entertained/fed the toddler and cooked our dinners. It's been nice to rest a bit more.

I am thankful that I no longer work at any of my previous jobs! Including all the retail and previous schools I have worked at, there have been some real dumpster fires. This job isn't perfect, but I know it can be sooooo much worse.
I am thankful to have morning sickness LOL! I know it sounds weird but for the past few days I haven't been feeling as pregnant because I was only tired and not feeling any other symptoms. Today I woke up feeling horrible and it put a smile on my face.
I'm also soooo thankful for our new sleep number bed... Oh how I love my bed!
Omg I needed this thread today. I am so very thankful for the midwife I met last night❤️ She has completely put me at ease and really ramped up my excitement about my VBAC/HBAC. I wanted to come gush about her last night but didn't know which would be an appropriate thread lol.
@zuuls_mom completely agree! I usually do the majority of things for DS in the evenings, but husband helping more has been awesome. I could really get use to this! 😂
I am thankful my husband is finally getting some overtime. Even though it means I'm doing all the bed time stuff with no help so I can't get a break.

I am grateful that tomorrow is a PA day which means I don’t have to deal with any kids tomorrow. I love all the kids, but it will be so good to have a break.

I'm thankful for the day I had with DS. We went to story/play time at the library, the playground, and to lunch with friends. He's still a little young (10.5 mo) for everything but old enough to still have fun. He SHRIEKED with happiness when I pushed him on a swing. It made me think about the limited one on one time I have remaining with him and was a good reminder to be more present and take advantage of right now.
@DuchessOfCambridge thank you for this reminder! DS has been so exhausting lately, but I definitely need to push through and be more patient and present with him.
@DuchessOfCambridge so true! My son has been a gem lately (almost 2 years old) but there have been days when I’ve definitely been happy to drop him off with babysitters or grandma. I’m really trying to savor these moments though. He’s not going to remember ever being an only child, but I will be abke to look back on days when it was just the three of us. Making me tear up now...darn hormones!
It is hard sometimes though, @msb615. DS cried or whined from 3-5 today and it was making me lose my mind a little after we’d just had an awesome morning/afternoon 😂
Im thankful I'm pregnant. I keep reminding myself this because I've been feeling pretty awful. I got to see my pulmonologist today. He did put me on steroids. Im a little nervous because although i had this same problem with DD, i was a little further along (10/11 weeks maybe?) then i am this time. I mean, obviously i know breathing and getting enough oxygen to the baby far outweighs the risks of steroids but you can't help worrying. Also, my nausea has been pretty bad today. Barely ate anything at all.
@DuchessOfCambridge Love that. It’s also like I JUST realized it’s not going to be me, DD and DH anymore. Ahhhh. I keep staring at DD imagining her with a sibling. She’s so little to me still!
Lol @hutterflutter1019 - I laugh because DH and I both have a very complex relationship with her. But as a grandmother, she hits it out of the park every time. My daughter is the lucky one and we just get to benefit from that too!
@DuchessOfCambridge it is a good reminder to cherish this time. My daughter threw a huge tantrum when it came time to get in the bath. They really make it tough sometime! Lol
Thankful for my mom in town. She cooks me meals from scratch and gives my son a bath while I lay on the couch and just live through morning sickness. Thanks, mom
I am thankful my husband has been able to work from home this week so I can be on bedrest. I am also thankful that Whole Foods hot bar exists so that my husband hasn’t had to try cooking. His level of cooking is limited to the microwave.
I'm thankful our boys do listen even if it doesn't seem like it.
Open house was tonight. My oldest's teacher said he was the class role model. He always thinks about and helps others in need, isn't afraid to stand up to and call people out for bullying or picking on others, and he always goes out of his way to make sure everyone is included. 😍😍

Oddly thankful for my wide awake 2 year old, singing at the top of her lungs, “jimmy crack corn and I don’t care” in her crib. She was in speech for almost a year, and it still gets me sometimes how far she’s come 😊
I am thankful for coworkers who are more concerned about me getting to 100% than coming in to work. My students have gone 2 days without a sub and will probably be subless tomorrow. It pains me to not be there but I know that taking care of me and Baby Bear must come first. They rock!
@jessica41879 how long was your daughter in therapy for? My daughter still babbles a lot. She says a few words but not as many as she should be. I think it might have to do with the fact that we speak 3 different languages in our home. Did your daughter babble at all?
@expandcontract that’s amazing you speak three languages in your home! My from limited experience with my daughter. I think its a great sign your DD is babbling. I do know that children from multiple language homes can talk later (our speech therapist actually grew up in one). Our daughter at a little over one year NEVER babbled, not as a baby or ever. That was a major red flag. She also had other mild sensory issues around mouth and tongue that I believe prohibited speech production. Our first step was teaching basic baby sign language, working in sensory issues around and in mouth, then getting her to babble, simple then complex, then other noises like animals cars etc. then came the words.
@jessica41879 thank you for that info! That sounds like a lot of hard work! Thank god for specialists. Yes, so my MIL speaks Punjabi and Hindi. Husband speaks Punjabi, English, and Hindi. While i speak only English and Hindi. Daughter's Pediatrician did have us get an evaluation. We were going to start therapy a few weeks but i canceled it because right then, Daughter said her first entire sentence "oh. my. God." In the most sacciest way, of course. But she hasn't said anything new since then so that's why I'm considering it again.
@jessica41879 Pretty much nailed it, @expandcontract . Children from bilingual or even trilingual homes are delayed a little, because they're facing a more challenging language environment, but the delay is temporary. Your daughter is trying to distinguish sounds and syllables and words between not only one or two, but three languages. So, before she can even talk, she has to be able to decipher between the 3 languages first. For 19 month olds who are monolingual, the average number of words can be from 10-50. So, I wouldn't be concerned right now if she has a few words, as you've said.
