Oh yea! I’m so glad you started this. I’ve been looking for some cozy pjs for my baby girl to come home in. I bought these headbands and am bringing a gray swaddle to swaddle her in for some pics.
I also saw these stickers on Etsy and thought they were cute to stick on top of the swaddle. There are several colors to pick from and the person writes your kiddos name in whatever font you pick.
Don't really know about the outfit yet, but baby boy is coming home in this hat. Out was made my another loss mama for D's and now it's going to this sweet miracle. (Also, excuse the mess, H wanted to sort all the baby clothes. He's freaking out it's almost go time.)
I think baby will come home in one of the Lou Lou and Co knitted gowns. I ordered two today so am excited for them to arrive. I need to find a hat or bow to match.
@runningyogimama what are the name of those booties? Someone gifted us a pair for DS but I can’t find them anywhere.
@wannaflickone Just keep in mind that baby can't wear a gown in a car seat (can't buckle them in between the legs without pulling it up around their waist).
I'm sorry if that's obvious and you've already considered it, but I almost did the same thing myself last time and then realized that it wouldn't work.
And those are Zutano booties. Check Amazon. We had two pairs and both have gone missing.
@wannaflickone Yes, Zutano booties!! I had a pair for DD2 (she had the skinniest little feet until she was like 2), and they are like the only socks or booties that would stay on her feet. I got a few pairs off Poshmark for this baby!
This was hard because we are team green, but I found this on Etsy (it shipped this morning!) and I got both the hat and bow just Incase!

@mojiejo I'm terrible and may just change baby into one of the white gerber onesies for the actual ride. Don't judge me! The only people who ever see us leaving are our nurse and then our dogs and the kids welcome us at home with grandma, so I'm not super worried about how baby looks for the actual travel. If it's cold, I'm planning on just bringing a blanket to cover legs. But... Texas, so it will probably be 90 degrees. Thank you though for looking out for me! We are doing a fresh 48 before we leave, so my plan is for baby to wear the gown for that. And thanks for the bootie name!
@mojiejo OMG I never would have thought of that, and I would also probably consider a gown for a going home outfit. Thank you for saying it!!
And I love this topic, but it's also giving me cold sweats b/c I have to make a decision (or at least narrow down the options) within the next few weeks!!
I did read that you should plan on bringing 2+ "going home" outfits just in case there's a bodily fluid incident in the first one--just mentioning in case someone else wouldn't think of that!

We're team green, and I have lots of boy outfits from DS, but only a couple girl outfits and a couple gender neutral outfits. Baby will likely go home wearing a cute sleeper of some sort. The going home outfit isn't a huge deal to me.

The thought didn't even cross my mind until the last minute and then it suddenly clicked that there was no way to safely buckle my kiddos in if they were wearing gowns (we have some very cute black and white striped kimonos with teal trim that I was strongly considering). It's such an easy thing to forget about when you're caught up in imagining how cute your little one is going to look in their new outfit.
Couldn’t get the best picture of it but we have a white footie with pink blue and yellow flowers on it with a white cap with pink trim. Since basically all her other clothes are hand me downs from DD I wanted this baby to have something of her own.
@lostarz14@mojiejo@runningyogimama I had the Zutano ones all picked out on Amazon and then I went down a rabbit hole in the "what others have bought" section. Found some cute ones that look to be made exactly the same and are half the price. I bought two pairs of those, so will let you know! Reviews on them were really good: booties
@wannaflickone I had some off name ones on my list to buy...but just couldn’t pull the trigger and also got some for less than half price on Poshmark - also, if you ladies aren’t on Poshmark, you’re missing out!! For both buying and selling.
@MojieJo Hubs totally just ordered that sleeper the other day! It's so cute!
I had the coming home outfit all picked out for when we though baby was a girl but now I'm having a hard time deciding! I'm leaning toward one of these!
And with this last one, this adorable hat!

I got these really cute jack o lantern outfits for them to come home in. Originally my induction date would have been the last week of October but it recently got bumped to the first week of November...which is why they are Halloween themed. But I really like them so even if they are born in November I plan to use them!

@linz36 I'd be cool if it were Halloween all year long, so I support your decision to keep the jack-o-lantern outfits!
This thread got me thinking about my own LO's outfit, and I think I have one picked out. It's pretty simple, but cute, I think. Will post a photo later today!
@ftm_jen@linz36 That’s the one that I’m leaning toward! I just love the ears!

@lachnessmomster Halloween is my favorite holiday and I would love for the twins to have their birthday around it lol. Might be a little selfish of me but I think Halloween is the best birthday theme ever!!

Since we're due the fourth, I have several options packed. I love florals, so I have a couple of floral sleepers. I also packed a unicorn option, and then a Halloween set... just in case I tend to over pack though. My girls have always gone home in something comfy, so I didn't buy anything specifically for going home.
I am not too huge on the coming home outfit, either.... I just wanted something easy. DD1 came home in a cat outfit so we are keeping with the theme. This time I made sure it was kimono style (easy on, less rubbing on cord stump) and footed so I don't have to think about socks. We will have a hat on hand but I am sure the hood will be adequate for a 5 minute car ride (we live down the road from the hospital and in GA where it stays relatively warm until Jan/Feb).
@linz36, my daughter's birthday is 10/10 and we did a Halloween theme for her 1st birthday. It is also one of our favorite holidays and I am sad that this LO will likely miss it this year (due 11/15)!
Torn between the mauve and the beige cozy pjs. I bought both. They both have built in hand covers which I’m a HUGE fan of for all newborn clothes, and both are also footed, which I like for winter months. Bows are for pictures only. She’ll just wear the hospital hat home.
