EDD? 1/2.... but OB scheduled my repeat C-sec for 12/26!!
Symptoms? swelling has been a bit out of control especially after being on my feet cleaning so much this past weekend.
Upcoming appointments? I have my GTT on 10/6 and next bi-weekly 10/8
R/R/Q: I was hardcore nesting last weekend and "spring cleaned" my entire house. It was a fabulous feeling when it was done!
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? looking at and shopping for itty bitty baby stuff again. I keep seeing babies everywhere and it's making me super excited again. Also, watching DS#1's reaction to all things baby. He is so excited, loves to feel baby kicks, has been loving going through his old toys and clothes to get ready, etc. He's going to be such a great big brother and helper!
Symptoms? A bit of achiness in my lower back, still fighting off this cold (3 weeks now). That's pretty much it.
Upcoming appointments? Glucose test next month.
R/R/Q: Like bradleysmommy28, nesting is setting in a bit. I'm getting serious about buying a second vehicle, full out planning the nursery activities, and eyeballing changes around the house. I like that I'm finally starting to feel something akin to eagerness, but now I'm annoyed about having to be at work instead of turning my plans into a reality at home, haha. Might take a week off coming up to get some serious progress made.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Oh gosh... I'm not really a big fan of being pregnant, so I don't know that I have a favourite part... I'd probably have to say just feeling and talking to baby.
Not too many symptoms ATM! Some mild constipation, insomnia, and heartburn. Today I'm having some soreness/mild cramping down low but I think that it's bowel-related. Yesterday I hit a wall of pure fatigue around 330 pm but the tiredness doesn't seem to be a daily thing.
No appointments until Oct 4th.
Now that the weather has cooled I've been getting out for some leisurely walks. Even walked the rubber track at the local highschool on the weekend (so nice on the feet and back!). It feels so good to feel well enough to be more active again. I hope it helps keep the weight gain in check, too.
I love the belly. I've always felt my most attractive when pregnant. Even though this time I started off way overweight and unhappy with myself, I still feel prettier than when I was just overweight and not pregnant. And it helps that DH loves me pregnant too. He said it's when he finds me sexiest and he turns into a total horndog even more than he already is (haha) so that definitely helps the self-esteem. And ppl are nicer to me too when I'm walking around with a big ol' bump.

U/S 19May - one bean measuring on track with a HB of 125! EDD: 07Jan2019 Team Green My Rainbow Baby Boy born 03Jan2019
Symptoms? Heartburn, occasional charlie horses in my calves (I flex my foot and they go away), waddling when I walk, constipation but magnesium helps.
Upcoming appointments? October 5 with my new OB
R/R/Q: Rave: I thought I was getting a cold and braced for the worse. I constantly used my sinus rinse so it passed quickly. I did have a coughing fit the other night and coughed so hard I threw up.
Rant: Summer refuses to die here.
Q: Anyone have a good magnesium supplement? I was using Natural Calm but I’m almost out.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Feeling the baby kick. This is my last one so I’m enjoying feeling all of his little movements and kicks. I can’t wait to get out the baby clothes and start hanging them up again. All of DS’s clothes will get worn again!
EDD? 1/6/19 -Keep hoping for a late-Dec baby, but doula told me 1st-time-mom average is 8 days late
Symptoms? Heartburn
Upcoming appointments? Last 4-week appointment on 10/18, with diabetes screen. Then move to biweekly appointments.
R/R/Q: Our anniversary is coming up (11 years this Saturday!) and DH made reservations at a place I've been wanting to try, and basically planned a weekend of fun. I'm pretty excited
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Feeling her kick.
Symptoms? Surprise diarrhea last night. Always fun. Sleeplessness. General feelings of wanting to crawl out of my skin. Not because I'm itchy or anything, but I'm just uncomfortable in this body. My boobs also leaked a smidge for the first time and it was disgusting. I cried.
Upcoming appointments? Tomorrow!
R/R/Q: Rant: I'm exhausted. I work a 9-5 that I really don't enjoy. I also have my own business, so after a soul-sucking 9-5, I come home and make dinner, then work for another 1-3 hours depending on the night. I know it's just a short term thing to juggle all of this, but it's hard. Especially with the hormones, sometimes I just break down in tears. I really appreciate this community though. I so look forward to each week's thread.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Eating cake whenever I feel like it, and not feeling guilty about the calories. We'll see how I fare with tomorrow's scale at the doctor. I lost some weight during first trimester, so I haven't been too concerned. I think my weight pacing is now back on track, so maybe I'll have to start watching what I eat a little more closely in 3rd trimester.
@Kabazaba I'm with you on wanting a December baby! I keep telling him 12/30 sounds like an excellent day to be born.
@bradleysmommy28@leighbrek I can't wait to join you both in nesting mode! We are waiting for a friend to come take our guest bed and then we can start doing up the nursery.
Symptoms? Starting to notice some hormonal changes, waking up in the middle of the night to pee and not able to go back to sleep,
Upcoming appointments? Standard prenatal tomorrow then I go to bi-weekly with my follow up anatomy scan in two weeks to see if my placenta has moved back (it was bordering my cervix at my AS)
R/R/Q: Speaking to the hormonal changes mentioned above, I went out to brunch with DH this weekend and the waitress told me that what I had been ordering for the past 3 years at that same place (an egg scramble but substituting fruit instead of toast and potatoes) was suddenly against their policy to do. I told her I don't care how you ring it up but I want to eat what I want and she gets very huffy with me and says "that's not possible" and storms away without giving me a chance to then change my order so something that apparently is "possible". She then stomps back to the kitchen (where we can all still see her) and is arguing with the kitchen staff over it and sends some other poor food runner over to bring out the food when it was ready. She had entered in a completely different meal that included toast and a side of potatoes that she then charged me extra for? Anyways, I was really upset and started tearing up because 1) The whole point of going out for brunch is to have a nice relaxing morning 2) I was worried they were going to mess with my food and I would get sick after her really confrontational responses and subsequent argument with the kitchen staff and 3) she came back over and proceeded to argue with me again about the policy instead of leaving me to eat the monstrosity that they had served me in peace and 4) they still charged me for the whole thing plus extra sides that I didn't order or want! Didn't help that my DH didn't understand why I was so upset which then caused another argument on the way home...worst brunch ever.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Getting to see my DH get really into and excited about being a Dad and doing all the preparing for baby stuff together
Symptoms? Heartburn is #1 right now. Not being able to sleep through the night because I have to get up to pee at least once. Definitely have that pregnant waddle going on.
Upcoming appointments? Glucose screening sometime next week, then next OB appt isn't until my 28 week appt.
R/R/Q: Anyone else sick of everyone asking how you're feeling? I feel bad complaining about that, but it's replaced "what's up" as a conversation starter. It's more annoying to me when it's from casual acquaintances because I'm not going to say anything but "fine" either way and I know they really don't want to hear the details of my heartburn and how often I pee anyway.
I'm also waiting for nesting mode to kick in. Mostly because my house really needs to be cleaned and I have no motivation to do it lol.
The only person who applied to sub for my leave is coming in to teach a sample lesson tomorrow. I REALLY hope it goes well so I can at least stop worrying about who's going to cover my classes.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Feeling baby kick. For the first time Sunday I actually could see the kick from the outside which was pretty surreal. Unfortunately I don't want to tell DH about it yet. He's traveling for work and really wants to be home and not feel like he's missing out on any part of this pregnancy, so I feel like telling him will just make those feelings worse. I tried to get a video of it that I could send him but the kicks are too unpredictable. My other favorite part is watching DH talk to baby. He'll ask baby if they can hear him and tell baby he loves them. I always knew he was a big teddy bear but it's just so awesome to see how much he already loves this baby.
@Ghostie625 The waddle is real! Holy smokes. For getting baby movement video, try shining a flashlight on your belly and record at the same time. The camera might not be able to pick up the actual movements of your body, but if you put a light object on your belly, you'll be able to see it bounce when baby kicks.
@leighbrek I'll have to give that a try. Right now it's a timing issue, too. Baby will give a couple good strong kicks, but by the time I get my phone ready to film it baby's done kicking.
@Ghostie625 That's what the flashlight is for. Have your camera ready, then press the flashlight to your belly. Babies tend to start kicking when there's a bright light shone on them in the womb.
Symptoms? Feeling baby kicks! Although I don't think that's a symptom. I have been irritable, peeing a ton and getting Charlie horses
Upcoming appointments? Oct 17th for my glucose test
R/R/Q: I don't have much to report. Baby boy has been super easy. I'm planning on having a relaxing weekend. My baby shower is coming up. I'm a little nervous and unprepared registry wise. But anything we are given is appreciated so I'm trying to not get too type A about it. Anything we don't get I'll just use my completion discount and/or order on black Friday.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Feeling baby kicks! I was really freaked out by it at first but I kind of like it now.
Totally going to try the flashlight trick tonight!
EDD? December 30 Symptoms? Heartburn, mild constipation, insomnia Upcoming appointments? Next Tuesday I'm in a group midwife thing, then birthing classes start the week after! R/R/Q: I think I passed my glucose test last Friday! It wasn't very pleasant, but happy I passed as my dad has diabetes. DH is out of town this week for business, which is kind of lame. GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? I feel very connected with my baby, which I wasn't expecting. I always thought the kicks and having something moving inside you would freak me out, but it doesn't at all. Not sure I'm explaining that well, but I can't wait to meet her!
EDD? 1/5 Symptoms? The heartburn is unrelenting! I honestly think this is the worst I've felt all pregnancy.
Upcoming appointments? My next real appointment/GD Screen is 10/12. But on 10/5 I scheduled a 3d ultrasound just for fun and so my husband can experience it! (He was out of town for my A/S)
R/R/Q: Rave: Once again I got sucked in by targeted advertising and bought a pair of Birdies shoes. They're basically cute slippers that are designed to be worn outside of the house and after weeks of stuffing my feet into too-small flats they feel like heaven! I got blush pink velvet slides with tassels and they're soooo girly and cute.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? It's been rough but I'm going to cosign that I love feeling the baby kicks! I already feel like this little guy has a personality and it reminds me that the end state makes all the struggles of pregnancy so worth it!
Symptoms? Really bad symphsis pubis pain, which I’ll be getting physio for. Other than that, I’ve been feeling pretty good!
Upcoming appointments? I just had an OB appointment today. She confirmed that baby girl does have a small (2mm) VSD. There will be no further monitoring until the baby is born, at which point she’ll have an echo done on her heart to see if it closed on its’ own before birth or if she’ll need to have it monitored. I have to go for my glucose test sometime in the next couple weeks.
R/R/Q: None at the moment.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? I love feeling the baby wiggle around and kick and have recently really started to enjoy my baby bump now that it doesn’t look like I just ate too much.
EDD? 1/5/2019... A December baby would be great for the tax break but as a Christmas baby myself, I'm really hoping for January. I'm sure I'll regret saying this come January but a week after my due date would ensure that DD would not be on winter break for her birthday come school time. I always thought going to elementary school on your birthday was the best ever! TLDR: early or late would be great!
side note: has anyone seen the New Year's Eve movie? I want to ask my OB if there is a cash prize at our hospital for having the first baby of the New Year
Symptoms? I haven't felt great in the evenings this week, not so much heartburn but more nausea / no appetite. Nothing sounds good to eat. Then I wake up starving in the morning.
Upcoming appointments? Oct 4th
R/R/Q: I ordered our car seat when it was on sale at BBB... its so cute just sitting on our dining room table! I also hired a painter to paint the nursery, things are coming together!
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? I LOVE seeing DH's reaction to the kicking and just baby stuff in general. He's been playing music for her and created a playlist which he titled 'baby's first mix tape'. Swoon!
Upcoming appointments? 10/3 for a reg. Check up and he will give me the paperwork for the GT
R/R/Q: question: (tmi?) is anybody having bloody boogers? Seems like everyday for the past week my right nostril is only producing bloody ones. Rave: My Dad is in town so my house is soo clean. I wonder how long that will last lol
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Of course the kicks!
@gorgeousariel TMI maybe, but I've had the bloody boogers too. I've had a cold that I'm just starting to get over, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
@gorgeousariel No cause for concern! Because of all the extra blood circulating in your body, the small capillaries in your nose can burst more easily because of the pressure they're under, leading to some bloody mucous. If you're having multiple full on nosebleeds, I'd talk to your OB about that, but just bloody boogers are NBD.

EDD? got moved to 1/8 but I'm sure she'll come early so I'm staying here
Symptoms? still really irritable with every little thing. I'm trying to take deep breaths and not flip out at anyone but I know I've been really short with lots of different people lately. Also still having tummy issues, which sucks. And insomnia, which isn't helping my irritability.
Upcoming appointments? next Thursday I have to do the glucose test in the morning and then have a regular OB appointment that afternoon. I'm hoping the glucose test goes better than it did with DD- they had to take me to the back to lay down because I felt like I was going to throw up and pass out at the same time.
R/R/Q: I'm also getting the nesting bug and making big plans for cleaning and organizing our house but I have no energy to do any of it most of the time. I did finally get down DD's 0-3 month clothes so that was a lot of fun to go through and remember when she was itty bitty.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? It's weird because I feel both uncomfortable in my body when I'm pregnant but also more confident. I never wear fitted shirts when I'm not pregnant but I have no problem rocking the fitted t-shirts on my baby bump. I also like having this time that is just for me and baby, knowing that when she's born I will have to share her with the world.
@sfgiantsgamerbabe I don't think I'm that far from you (a little north of Sacramento)- I'm hoping today is the last 100* we will see!! @Ghostie625 did your district post your long-term sub position? I'm not having any luck finding someone to take my class by just asking around so I'm wondering what my district is going to do. I hope I get a say in who they decide on!
@jandd2014 They posted the position about a month ago, shortly after school started. We knew it would be hard to find someone because they would need to have dual certification, so they posted it pretty early. We got one applicant who we interviewed and called back to teach a sample lesson. He didn't blow me away but he's qualified and I think he'll be fine so our principal is going to call his references and most likely hire him. Good luck finding someone! Hopefully your district will post the position publicly and you can get some applicants.
Hi everyone! I miss being able to check in here more often. School has been kicking my butt. I had back to school night and a wedding this week and have been so insanely busy I'm passing out on the couch by 9pm each night. And since I don't have phone service at work and my work computer is monitored I can't log in during the day usually either. Hoping things will slow down a bit now so I can be more active again!
@tosh24 Yes to feeling the best in my body when pregnant! I was also disappointed in myself for being even heavier this time than I was when I was pregnant with DD. I was worried because of the extra weight I wouldn't feel good about my body again. It took a little longer but thankfully I also popped earlier and am loving the way I look. At least when I'm clothed haha.
@Ghostie625 I'm glad to hear it seems like you've found someone! My supervisor is hoping to grab a december grad for my position. We already talked a bit about how I'm going to need to lessen the difficulty of my exams when I hand them over to whoever covers me (3 of the 5 course I teach are a rigorous freshman honors course and we're afraid the sub will be persecuted by the parents if we don't).
@galactickates Ugh the charlie horses have started for me too. I feel like I just can't drink enough water. I am holding water weight in my body but it's not getting me hydrated. I'm at a loss.
@gorgeousariel Yes to bloody boogers. I also actually had a bloody nose one day which I have basically never had in my life.
@Kabazaba I was so grumpy when I went past my due date with DD. It didn't help that basically everyone around me went between the 37-40 week with their babes. I have no idea how late she would have been if I didn't get induced. This time I will probably have a December baby because repeat c-section.
EDD? 01/06. 26 weeks today!
Symptoms? Swelling! I think because it has been SO HUMID here and also I had a busy week and was basically never off of my feet. Also I'm starting to just kind of slow down, need more sleep, and am out of breath faster.
Upcoming appointments? October 9th for a 27 weeker since my OB will be gone for two weeks after that.
R/R/Q: I passed my 3 hour GTT! Which took me two weeks longer to take than it should have. My OB never called me so I was assuming it was good news. But then the lab released the results today and I saw that they were all within range. Though my fasting sugar was on the cut off.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? Baby movements!

Answering these really late, for some reason I missed this post this time around.
EDD? 1/1
Symptoms? Starting to get some insomnia at night and also having problems staying asleep, starting to get uncomfortable in one position for too long
Upcoming appointments? Not for 3 weeks, just a regular appointment. I passed my glucose test this last appointment so I am happy to be done worrying about that.
R/R/Q: Last night we had our yearly camp out at a friends house. They have a large fenced backyard so the kids just get to run around and go crazy. But my DS gave me zero room on the air mattress, like hand in my face pushing me to the edge, it was hard to get any rest. And my back hurt when I woke up this morning, luckily it go better as the day went on.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? I love the way I feel when pregnant, I feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I'm unsure if its because I'm heavier normally so I just feel more confident knowing my stomach is supposed to be big pregnant? But I love dressing myself when pregnant. I'm sad knowing this will be my last pregnancy so I am trying to enjoy it the best I can.

@KLS I’m sorry about your brunch experience:( That’s awful.
My other favorite part is watching DH talk to baby. He'll ask baby if they can hear him and tell baby he loves them. I always knew he was a big teddy bear but it's just so awesome to see how much he already loves this baby.
For getting baby movement video, try shining a flashlight on your belly and record at the same time. The camera might not be able to pick up the actual movements of your body, but if you put a light object on your belly, you'll be able to see it bounce when baby kicks.
Right now it's a timing issue, too. Baby will give a couple good strong kicks, but by the time I get my phone ready to film it baby's done kicking.
Feeling baby kicks! I was really freaked out by it at first but I kind of like it now.
Totally going to try the flashlight trick tonight!
Now I just have to find a flashlight that's not the one on my phone, which I'd have to use to film it lol!
Symptoms? Heartburn, mild constipation, insomnia
Upcoming appointments? Next Tuesday I'm in a group midwife thing, then birthing classes start the week after!
R/R/Q: I think I passed my glucose test last Friday! It wasn't very pleasant, but happy I passed as my dad has diabetes. DH is out of town this week for business, which is kind of lame.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far? I feel very connected with my baby, which I wasn't expecting. I always thought the kicks and having something moving inside you would freak me out, but it doesn't at all. Not sure I'm explaining that well, but I can't wait to meet her!
1/5
Symptoms?
The heartburn is unrelenting! I honestly think this is the worst I've felt all pregnancy.
Upcoming appointments?
My next real appointment/GD Screen is 10/12. But on 10/5 I scheduled a 3d ultrasound just for fun and so my husband can experience it! (He was out of town for my A/S)
R/R/Q:
Rave: Once again I got sucked in by targeted advertising and bought a pair of Birdies shoes.
Jan 5th
R/R/Q:
None at the moment.
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far?
I love feeling the baby wiggle around and kick and have recently really started to enjoy my baby bump now that it doesn’t look like I just ate too much.
side note: has anyone seen the New Year's Eve movie?
Swoon!
EDD for #2 1/28/2021
Symptoms?
Restless leg syndrome at night
Upcoming appointments? 10/3 for a reg. Check up and he will give me the paperwork for the GT
R/R/Q: question: (tmi?) is anybody having bloody boogers? Seems like everyday for the past week my right nostril is only producing bloody ones.
Rave: My Dad is in town so my house is soo clean. I wonder how long that will last lol
GTKY: What is your favorite part of being pregnant so far?
Of course the kicks!

My Rainbow Baby Boy born 03Jan2019
Symptoms? still really irritable with every little thing.
DD- 11/2016
Good luck finding someone! Hopefully your district will post the position publicly and you can get some applicants.
