Hey ladies! Is anyone pretty tired yet? I usually get tired after lunch at work, but this definitely feels more than usual. It's like I'm ready to go to bed when I get home at 6! Anyone else feeling tired yet?
@expandcontract Seriously.....why? I could think of 4 other places this could go before starting a random thread asking if people are tired. Also, the answer is yes. Yes, we're all tired. We're pregnant.
I just joined The Bump. I'm no expert on this; so sorry for all the ladies who are forum Nazi's. Just don't reply next time ok? Maybe you're just hormonal.

K first of all, let’s not use the term Nazis, thanks.

Or maybe you could’ve read the ***READ ME FIRST*** thread like everyone else rather than being rude when someone offered a suggestion on where to post...

Yes, you got it. We’re a bunch of hormonal nazis. The jig is up, you guys!

The reason we don't just ignore threads like this is because we want to be able to navigate the board and find conversations to participate in. If every pregnant woman who wanders on to the bump started a thread about their least favourite pregnancy symptom, we would be drowning in threads about nausea, fatigue, bloat, and constipation and no one would actually be able to get to know anybody.
So, now you have a choice: you can learn from this and start participating in this community, or you can continue to call us names and make no friends here.

So I read this first, and I had to scroll all the way down, I think this is what you wanted me to read? But I'm still not sure b/c that thread was clogged with a bunch of other posts
"For the sake of board organization, here are some simple guidelines for posting threads:
DO: -Introduce yourself in the "Introductions" thread
-Add yourself to the spreadsheet
-Feel free to start one of the weekly posts listed below if you don't see it started yet
-Check to see if a thread has already been started on your topic or question so we can avoid too many threads of the same topic
-Post a thread that would apply to the entire community and doesn't fall into one of the categories for daily threads listed below (Ex: what to pack in your hospital bag, baby gear, etc)
-Comment, share advice and show support for your fellow bumpies; this is a two-way street, to get support, you must show it as well"
First of all, I'm not reading through hundreds of introductions. Then, "Feel free to start one of the weekly posts listed below"... below as in where? And who is the goddess who decides what we are and are not allowed to post on?
"Check if this thread is already started" - when I search for "tired 5 weeks pregnant" I get hundreds of boards... sooo I started one with the question I actually have.
"Post a thread that would apply to the entire community" - Y'all have already split the thread into 4 groups right? That's against the rules
Ok, FIRST of all, I am the goddess that decided to post those rules. They are very easy, agreeable rules that a vast majority of ladies in this community can abide by. The reason why I posted them is because MANY other boards have thrived with these rules. SECOND of all, we broke no rules by splitting into groups because that is what these gorgeous ladies and myself have all agreed TOGETHER to do. And FINALLY, we really pride ourselves on being an open and welcoming community and then you come traipsing in her with your poor attitude calling people names. I'm not sure you can come back from this, but by all means give it a whirl, girl.

Ok so I have found your leader. So please answer the questions. "Feel free to start one of the weekly posts listed below"... below as in where? "Check if this thread is already started" - when I search for "tired 5 weeks pregnant" I get hundreds of boards... "show support for your fellow bumpies" The 3 I quoted above totally jumped on my ass when I joined. Why?

If you don't want to get to know the community and be part of it, then don't participate here at all. Every single BMB on TB is run this way. Every. Single. One. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to post here.
"Check if this thread is already started" - when I search for "tired 5 weeks pregnant" I get hundreds of boards... sooo I started one with the question I actually have.
This question could have been posted in the Group 3 and Group 4 check-ins. Or the symptoms thread. Or the randoms thread. You didn't need a whole new speshul showflayke thread.
"Post a thread that would apply to the entire community" - Y'all have already split the thread into 4 groups right? That's against the rules
Okay, you're just wrong here. The weekly check-ins by due date is a system that was decided on by the group as a whole, and they are standard weekly threads, as listed out in the main board org post. #readingcomprehension
Anyone can click on your username and see that you've only posted one discussion and three replies - all contained within this thread. You have not even attempted to participate here or be part of this community. We're not your personal google. But you've really made a splashy impression as a person I wouldn't want to continue the next 8 months with!
Also, if you get 'hundreds' of results to a search about being tired while pregnant...guess what? It's cause everyone's tired when they're pregnant. Duh.
It's a little sad I have to spell it out since you clearly know how to read. If you had kept reading down, you would have seen the following:
Here are some weekly/monthly ideas that may be good to start with. We can always add to best suit our boards needs, so please let me know if you have any other ideas! Per this BMB's decision, anyone can start any thread on the day.
**OTHER THREADS FTM Check-In STM+ Check-In Due Date Week Groups (ex. May 1st-7th, May 8th-14th, etc) Cloth Diapering
You should be able to search within our actual BMB, but even if you can't we only have three pages of threads. Click through them? I get that we're asking you to read, but it's no more than anyone else is expected to do.
We show support, but don't mistake that rule for getting a pass when you blatantly disregard the other rules. If you had introduced yourself and then commented on the symptoms thread we all would have been love titting your post about being tired because WE ARE ALL TIRED. Instead you decided to be rude and call people names and act like we're the horrible rule breakers.
Also, I am not this group's leader. I am simply the gal that got things started. I am here for the love, support friendship and a tiny bit of snark.

Part of what makes this community unique is the fact that the organizational structure and rules of the board encourage you to actually read through the posts others have made, creating a community where the ladies here actually get to know each other. If you’d actually read through any of the threads here you would see how supportive the ladies here can be.
By your own admission you couldn’t be bothered to read through the introductions thread, or clearly even read the entire first post in the thread clearly marked as “Read This First”. You can’t come on here and basically declare that you have no interest is supporting us and then whine that we arn’t being supportive of you. You get what you put in here.
Rules and structure not you thing? Can’t be bothered to read through other’s posts? Good news, there are plenty of other pregnancy boards out there that have the free for all atmosphere you’re looking for.
I can't help but laugh my ass off, right now. @ravingmad I'm actually a grammar nazi, not a forum nazi. Either way, there's a reason why TB has a 2 week waiting period before you can start posting in the Community. It's to give you time to lurk and get a "lay of the land" so to speak. If you had done that, you would've seen other random posters before you who created their own unnecessary threads and we gently directed them to the "Read This First" post. You wouldn't have made the same mistake if you would have just read, first. Also, we're TIRED and kind of sick of newbs coming in declaring their symptoms and wanting support without providing support. If you're able to digest this and reflect on it, we will still welcome you to our board provided you follow the rules and culture.
Re: Group 3 & 4 Who's Tired?!
With this starting new threads issue.....i just can't, right now.
Suggestions for people who want to start a new thread:
Check the "Read This First" Board Organization thread and see what's scheduled for the day. If a scheduled thread hasn't been started yet, go for it!
Start a GTKY! GTKYs are always welcome and always fun.
Don't start a thread about a random symptom that we've already been complaining about for weeks in the symptoms thread.
And yes. Yes, I'm tired.
