1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 34 weeks; butternut squash
2. How are you feeling? I feel pretty good with the exception of awful rib pain and lower back pain
3. Any appointments this week? Chiro 3x this week and had my 34 week appt yesterday.
4. Rants/raves/questions? Baby flipped!! I was seeing the other OB in the practice yesterday and she couldn't tell, so she snuck me in for a quick sonogram. Since I had been doing so much to flip baby, she knew it would put me at ease. They all thought baby was still head up, but were thrilled to see baby had actually switched positions entirely. I was so relieved.
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? I am feeling extremely unprepared. With everything baby related currently in storage and our house still about 3 to 4 weeks from completion, I am having a hard time keeping my anxiety calm. This week I decided to buy the things I would need immediately, so I bought some nursing tanks from Target to have fresh ones, ordered baby two hospital tie style gowns that I've been eyeing, and am going to pick up newborn essentials (diapers, small pacis, etc). I'm hoping that will help put my mind at ease a bit.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 31 coconut
2. How are you feeling? Better than I have the whole pregnancy
3. Any appointments this week? Nope next week
4. Rants/raves/questions? Nope
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? Trying to finish up the baby's room. Painting is done so now I need to clean the floor (my 6 year old helped paint) and set everything up. I want to work on a list of anything else that we still need.
@wannaflickone I have been freaking out about how unprepared we are right now. I actually just saw an article that says you really only need a few days to get everything done before a baby comes. It may or may not be true but I am choosing to believe it and see myself as ahead of schedule.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 31, movie popcorn
2. How are you feeling? Not as tired as last week, still a little achy here and there but breathing a little easier.
3. Any appointments this week? Nope, got two next week!
4. Rants/raves/questions? None
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? Starting the process of washing all the clothes and putting them into the dresser. We finally finished moving DD2 out of the nursery and into the big girl room with her sister -she's been sleeping in there for months on the bunk bed, but we added a hutch and put her clothes into the various drawers/little cabinet for dresses. Moved the items that were more pertinent to her like her jewelry box and piggy bank into the big girl room. I'm hoping to get around to the pesky hospital bag soon, LOL.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 32 weeks; baby is the size of a squash
2. How are you feeling? Large haha but pretty good overall.
3. Any appointments this week? Nope
4. Rants/raves/questions? DH is gone for training for a month and his leadership is trying to push back his return date. The original date is already less than a month before baby’s due date and there’s a possibility I could be induced earlier because of baby’s size. It’s already nerve wracking having him so far away with no way to get back quickly, but now they want to prolong his time away.. it’s making me all hormonally rage-y
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? I have been slowly deep cleaning our house one room a day for the last week. Today, specifically, I spent an absurd amount of time on the kitchen. Thankfully I have just one room left, then to wash the walls and baseboards. Otherwise, I stayed true to my painfully type-a personality and have everything washed, organized, and ready for baby.
@wannaflickone Yay for baby flipping! I'm also having bad rib pain. It's nearly impossible to find a comfortable sitting position at this point.
@rosebud1230 That's stressful about DH's training. Hopefully they will be flexible with him so you don't have to worry.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 33 weeks, size of celery
2. How are you feeling? I've been having pretty constant rib pain and hip pain. Other than that, just tired.
3. Any appointments this week? Had a growth scan today to see how GD is affecting baby. LO is already 5 lbs 6oz which has me nervous. Good news is he's in a great birthing position so hopefully he stays put!
4. Rants/raves/questions? None for now.
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? We started clearing out the nursery which is basically storage for us. This weekend is my shower, so hoping to really start making progress after that. Definitely feeling behind.
@wannaflickone I can relate to housing stress! We had to have some unexpected work done on our lower lever and garage, so I have had workers and noise all week. We had to move quite a bit of our things from the lower level to our main floor so they could work, so now my main floor looks so cluttered and cramped with things everywhere. It gives me such anxiety to look at everyday and makes me feel even more unprepared for the baby, since this is the time I should be nesting and cleaning. They should finish up next week, but then we have roofers coming and we are getting a completely new roof.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 31 weeks
2. How are you feeling? pretty good. Dealing with housing issues/construction/noise is stressing me out though and really putting a damper on my time to nest.
3. Any appointments this week? Nope
4. Rants/raves/questions? Getting very antsy for my 32 week ultrasound, especially since my GD diagnosis.
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? Ive been going through all my sons baby stuff. I finished yesterday, and today I’m going to actually start washing things. Baby’s room still looks like a hot mess though. I just have piles of things everywhere.
@wannaflickone sooo happy to hear baby flipped! One less thing to stress about.
Sorry I've been MIA, just having some difficulty focusing on much besides my work, BP and pregnancy issues lately. Bad excuse and I apologize!
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 31 weeks, coconut
2. How are you feeling? About the same, maybe a bit more tired than I had been feeling
3. Any appointments this week? MFM appointment yesterday, OBGYN on Friday. Yesterday's MFM went really well, baby looked great (+ adorable!), NST was great and my BP was awesome for the first time in a long time!! It seems like something I'm doing is working. Also, per my 24 hour urine and blood tests, I'm not preeclamptic, just have gestational hypertension which is great. Right now they've put 37 weeks as my target delivery date which would put us right at November 6.
4. Rants/raves/questions? My manager has been really supportive throughout all of my recent BP drama and my doctor's decision to have me exclusively work from home, but has asked me to come in to the office tomorrow for a meeting. I asked my MFM about it and she said she couldn't hold me hostage but that something we're doing, either the medicine or the working from home, is working - and she wouldn't be to blame I decided to go in and my OBGYN appointment went poorly on Friday. My manager also casually mentioned he'd like for me to come in at least once/week. Finding it so difficult trying to please your doctors and your work, and trying to focus on the health and wellness of your baby most importantly.
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? Because things have been so up in the air with my health, we went last weekend and bought everything else we need for the baby's arrival. This weekend we are likely installing the infant car seat and trying to relax a bit!
@ginny_203 I am SO happy to hear your BP is under control. No need to apologize; you have a lot on your plate Hopefully your manager can understand that in the long run, this is such a short season in your career.
@BabyBoyH92016 Eek! Sorry you are dealing with housing stuff too. It is so hard having people in your house making a mess when all you want to do is keep your home perfect. Fingers crossed they finish up ASAP!
@rosebud1230 I hope they don't prolong his stay. That would make me all sorts of ragey. I had a dream last night that DH was asked to go on a week long work trip and I was not pleased.
@bswishe4 that is so true! I don't know why I act like I can't just amazon everything I need same day or send someone on a Target run. I think it is just that nesting instinct. It really messes with you!
So late to this week’s party. So happy the baby flipped @wannaflickone 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? Today- 34+4. Baby is the size of a basketball hoop, but I feel that is too big to describe it
2. How are you feeling? not too bad. I’m still exercising 3 days a week. My lunch duty this week was to walk the halls to catch kids not where they belong. I get about a half hour and tons of steps in, which is nice. The ankle and foot swell is no joke and my feet were pretty wide to begin with and I have big diesel ankles when I’m not pregnant due to my younger figure skating days. Shoes are not my friend.
3. Any appointments this week? no but we had a baby care class. I learned some stuff. Most I already knew from being on the board and from the Baby books
4. Rants/raves/questions?I had my baby shower last week. It was great! We had a bumble bee theme. Our family and friends were so generous and it went very smoothly. Pic of cake in spoiler
5. What are you doing this week to prepare for baby’s arrival? go through the stuff from the shower and make sure I got everything correctly written down to get the thank you notes done. We still need a crib and furniture but we know that can wait if needed. We have a bassinet from the pack and play we’ll probably use for sleeping the first month or so. But we have a car seat so we can leave the hospital.
