@echo-charlietango Oooh I didn't realize that insurance may cover PP support belt. That's good info to follow up on!
Tomorrow morning I have to do the 3-hour GTT I failed my 1-hour last Friday (cut off was 134 and I was 147). I've passed both a 1-hour (pregnant) and 3-hour (not pregnant) previously, and am hoping that I was just having an off day. Wish me luck
I have my 28 week appointment today that also starts every 2 week checks. Besides getting my flu shot and TDAP vaccine, I assume it will be uneventful. I also have a dentist appointment today which I'm slightly concerned about because pregnancy has caused my gag reflex to be ridiculously awful.
I have my gd test on wednesday. So we will see how that goes. I also start my every two week checks since ill be 28 weeks tomorrow. Although my next appointment is in 3 weeks because my doctor is on vacation the 2nd week my appointment would have been. I passed my gd test last pregnancy, fx i pass again. Since i still havent gained any weight this pregnancy i wonder if ill have anything said to me on wednesday. Ive seen multiple doctors in the practice, and all of them have a different opinion on it.....
@hannelorre Good luck with your test! I called my dr as soon as the office opened (at 8:30) since I wanted to speak to the dr before starting the test. The nurse had me leave a message and I haven't heard anything back yet. I gave up and had breakfast. I can do the test tomorrow if need be. Hoping to be able to talk to a doctor soon and get it sorted out.
ETA: I just heard back -- the dr says I can monitor my blood glucose (fasting and 2 hours after each meal) for a full week and then go in and discuss my results with her. I am supposed to keep track of my diet too. Hopefully it goes OK and my numbers look good!
30 weeks today - appointment on Thursday. It'll be my first since the GD diagnosis but I've been doing great with my eating and monitoring so I hope it's uneventful.
@PensiveCrayon Not yet! I’ll print it soon though - thanks for the reminder

I've got my 28 week appointment on Thursday! 1 hour glucose test, RhoGAM antibodies check, checking thyroid and platelets again, TDAP, flu shot, RhoGAM shot, normal 28 week stuff with the midwife. Also, need to ask about:
pediatrician/family doctors (we don't love ours)
the nether region itching continues without any infection or bacteria or yeast (we keep checking) so they said they could prescribe a safe low-dose steroid cream to help (not too fond of that, but it's getting really annoying!!)
sleep - I'm waking up every 1.5-2 hours now for a mix of peeing and baby dance parties
I haven't gained weight in a few weeks and I know I lowered the amount of processed foods I'm eating. Just wondering if it's something to worry about when I'm eating a ton (and a good mix of nutrients) but it's all healthy?
I keep seeing these 30 week appointments and can't believe that is where we are. It seems so far off to me still, but it's really only 2 weeks away. I have my 28 week appointment today, should be pretty uneventful as I did my glucose at 26 weeks. I just need RhoGAM and Tdap in addition to hearing the HB. So, I'm also hoping I'm in and out. The interesting thing is my doctors office does a 26 week, 28 week and then not again until 32 weeks. I'm kind of ready for bi-weekly checks, but I have to wait one more month to start those.
@Hollyyyyy@hannelorre good luck with the 3 hr test! @kadeephd glad your doctor was able to give you another option. @hoosiermama-2 glad your first week monitoring has been going well.
Excited to see all these 28- and 30- week visits! Crazy how fast everything is starting to go by. The registration packet for delivery from the hospital arrived in the mail last week. Is it really that time already?
AFM, no appointments this week, but next week I have PT, growth ultrasound, and 28 week OB visit.
GL to all those taking their 1- and 3-hour tests today/this week! FX you will all pass without a problem!
@kadeephd Glad your dr is willing to work with you - GL!
I have a regular 30-week check-up on Thursday. Not expecting too much for this one since TDAP will be at the next one. I also need to stop somewhere to get a flu shot soon since my OB doesn't administer them.

Thanks, everyone! I'm so relieved not to have to do the three hour. It took me a while to figure out how to use the lancet but I think I got it. My first 2 hours post-meal reading was 92 which is great. It was a pretty average lunch for me so that's a good sign. I'm going to eat some carb heavy meals soon and see how they go.
Another good appointment in the books! No protein in the pee. My blood pressure has been steadily increasing, but well within normal ranges. We talked about my *barely* low iron, and improving it with diet. My weight gain has been oddly ideal, I've been eating like there's no tomorrow and only gained 2.5lbs since last appt (four weeks ago) - this was the biggest surprise to me. I got my flu shot in their office, and my two prescriptions. Pew pew pew!

@kadeephd It does have iron...so maybe I should get back to taking it regularly I got out of the habit but felt that my diet was nutritious enough (and it seems to be, minus this little dip in iron).

@echo-charlietango The iron is one of the reasons I remind myself to take my prenatal. I was surprised my levels weren't low when they tested me because I'm prone to low iron. I've been turned away from giving blood several times because of it.
Appointment went pretty ok over here. Got surprise flu and tdap (i forgot that was this appt). My fundal height had chilled and is right in line with 29 weeks, for however much stock you can put into that. Dr also suggested magnesium and benadryl (I was surprised) for restless legs.
@lippy625 Hope your dentist appointment went well, and you didn't puke on him/her!
@morgantu Glad your appointment went well. Does that mean you're not measuring a week ahead anymore?
@snugglyduckling25 +1 I can't believe we are already approaching 30 weeks, and some of us are already there! So exciting and crazy at the same time!
@echo-charlietango I second @kadeephd re: taking prenatals with iron. I always have low iron, and usually have to supplement with pills, but my prenatal alone has been keeping my numbers up since first trimester (TMI- I had to stop taking the iron supps due to constipation issues, lol).
@Hollyyyyy yay for passing the 3 hr! Hope you got some ice cream to celebrate. My Dr said today I was measuring 29 weeks and I'm 28+4 (duh, you know this lol). So it's about right. But that's also based on fundal height, so I don't know how reliable it is.
@morgantu Glad you're measuring right on track. They measured my fundal height for the first time at the last appointment and said I was measuring a week behind where I actually am. I guess they don't worry too much unless it's off by a lot. At this point, our babies are diverging in size anyway so I don't know why they'd expect everyone to measure exactly the same. A future 9 lb baby is likely taking up more space than a future 6 lb one!
@kadeephd right? Plus I'm tall with a long torso so I feel like I have more room vertically than needed to grow out. I'm not really sure that's how it works though. Whatever, the Dr isn't worried so im not really giving it too much thought
@Hollyyyyy jealous that you got your results so quickly! Hooray for the good news!!
Thank you all for the good wishes!! They gave me lemon lime flavor for the 3 hr test (i had the orange flavor for the 1 hr) and I much preferred lemon lime flavor. It was clear, too (I remember someone was allergic to orange dye glucola?) I did feel headachy and a bit nauseous during the test but ok. Worst was all the bruises from 4 different blood draw bc my veins suck.
My midwife told me that I wont get the result for a day or two so now the waiting game begins.
@hannelorre My veins have some nasty track marks on them, too The phlebotomist did tell me that I would get my results in 24-48 hours, and it only ended up being about 4 before they uploaded my results in My Chart. Do you have an online portal you can check? I think they may say it takes longer to get your results just to give themselves some cushion time. Good luck!!
@kadeephd so glad your doctor is willing to work with you so you don't have to do the 3 hr. And even better your numbers have been looking great so far!
@omnommer good luck Thursday, hopefully you get the answers you want and things are status quo. Good luck finding a new pediatrician.
Good luck to everyone else with big appointments and GD tests this week.
I'm actually sitting at the lab about 35 minutes into my 1hr GD test. They gave me the clear lemon lime flavor, I really didn't mind it at all. I psyched myself out a bit by reading the side effects on the back of the bottle: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and fainting. How fun. So far not feeling much of anything other than a bit dizzy, but that is kind of typical any morning I wait this long to eat!
Yesterday I got my flu shot at the pharmacy since my OB doesn't administer them. Arm is feeling slightly achy but if that's the worst of it, I'm glad I finally bit the bullet and got the darn thing.
@kadeephd thanks! My OB told me I could eat something small before hand (like oatmeal), but I'm glad I didn't because the tech at the lab told me i wasn't even supposed to drink water! (I drink a LOT of water, especially in the AM with my thyroid pill, so too bad!)
@morgantu my fundal height has gotten back on track too, after measuring 2 weeks ahead a couple of appointments ago. I'm also tall and I think that can "hide" bigger babies. I measured exact with DS1 for my entire pregnancy, so I was a little shocked when he weighed in at over 9lbs! So, at the end of the day, nothing will surprise me when this baby is born because all of these measurements have so much room for error. @Hollyyyyy yay for passing the 3 hour! @scaredunprepared good luck on your 1 hour!
@Hollyyyyy glad you passed your 3 hour!! @hannelorre@scaredunprepared fingers crossed for good results from both of your tests. I definitely liked the clear lemon lime flavor better than the orange too. @echo-charlietango glad you had a great/productive appointment! I have had low iron results before pregnancy and my prenatal with iron has seemingly kept me on track during this pregnancy but I sometimes (ok, often haha) forget to take it too. Also this is a ridiculous complaint but the prescription prenatals my doctor recommended come individually wrapped and they are so hard to get open so sometimes if I forget and I remember while in bed, I'm too lazy to get back up and take one.
My dentist appt went fine and thankfully my pregnancy gag reflex stayed under control! My OB appointment was also uneventful. Blood pressure still slightly high but doctor again said she's not worried and we will just continue to monitor since everything else is good. I got my flu shot but for some reason the nurse decided she'll give me my TDAP at my next appointment instead of both at once.
@lippy625 lol glad your gag reflex was controlled! I've never heard of a prescription prenatal. I just take an iron supplement in addition to my prenatal. I've never had actual low iron, it's just something I'm paranoid about because I don't eat red meat and during pregnancy have barely eaten any leafy greens either.
Yay I passed the 3 hr!! Good luck to @scaredunprepared on your 1 hr and @kadeephd on the blood monitoring this week, and anyone else I might be leaving out. Thank you for all your good wishes while I waited for the result
