Re: Group 1 Check-in (EDD May1-7) Week Of 9/17

  • Due date/W+D: 7 w, 2 days

Baby is the size of a(n): altoid

Any appointments? Questions?:  Still waiting for my appointment on Oct. 4.  It seems like the waiting is so much longer this time around!

Rants/Raves?: Can't wait to tell people.  This secrecy thing is killing me at the moment.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good.  No real symptoms yet other than tiredness and more frequent nosebleeds.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be?  Time with my husband away from our almost 2 year old.  I love DS to death, but I could definitely use some time away from him...lol

  • Due date/W+D: may 1, 7 weeks 5 days!

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry! App also says it's the size of an earphone bud. Is getting so big!

Any appointments? Questions?: had an ultrasound last Friday that was perfect! Was able to hear the most beautiful heartbeat. We are now done with the fertility clinic, first OB appointment is on the 26th.

Rants/Raves?: my allergies have been awful lately since I stopped my allergy medication! I checked the med and it says it should be ok to use, but I'm still hesitant until I can clear it with my OB.

How are you feeling?: I get tired very easily, nausea hits in waves, and I vomited for the first time at work on Friday! I feel like I've passed a major milestone lol I am starting to feel like I have to pee like often, even though it's never really a lot.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Hawaii!!! My husband and I have been tentatively planning a trip to Hawaii with my parents for a while now, hoping we can swing it as a babymoon. Only problem is that i won't have enough PTO until February, but by then I'll be 30 weeks along and I'm not sure how late they let you travel.

  • Due date/W+D: may 3rd, 7w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Any appointments? Questions?: we had our first ultrasound on Friday, everythinh was looking great and we heard the heartbeat. TW my loss was a MMC, baby stopped growing at 8 weeks, we found out at 10 weeks, so I’m still super nervous. End TW. Our next appt is oct 4th at 10 weeks, hopefully everything is still on track then.

    Rants/Raves?:

How are you feeling?: so tired all the time, nausea on and off and already popping tums all day for heartburn, so that’s fun :)

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Before the hurricane I would have said Charlotte NC, now I’m not sure!

  • Due date/W+D: May 4, 7w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry according to Ovia, blueberry according to TB

Any appointments? Questions?: Coming up October 9.

Rants/Raves?: It's book fair week and I feel like craaaaaap. I'm very fortunate to have a dedicated volunteer to help me out, but I wonder if I should tell her so she knows why I'm dragging my butt everywhere. She was chatting with me about book fair things this morning and I seriously felt like I was going to vomit on her shoes.

On the rave side of things, turns out nature valley crunchy granola bars are the perfect things for morning nausea.

How are you feeling?: Terrible. I've started puking every morning, like the kind that would be vomit, except that there's nothing in my stomach. So... I'm vomiting bile. I had this with both my previous pregnancies, so I expect it will continue for the next 7 months, even with meds. Which I can. not. wait. to get my hands on at my first appointment.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? I'm not big on traveling far distances, so maybe a week for just DH and I at a cottage on a gorgeous, quiet lake.

@sagems10 don't quote me, but I think they let you travel until 36 weeks, assuming no complications.

    DD2: October 2016
    DC3: coming May 2019

  • Due date/W+D: 7 weeks 5 days

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

    Any appointments? Questions?: today!

Rants/Raves?: None atm. Other than constantly throwing up. Like 8-12 times a day. I have work and school and an almost 2 year old and I just want to not be sick.

How are you feeling?: See above. Pretty awful. But hoping it goes away soon.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Bora Bora. That would be a dream vacation in general!

  • Due date/W+D:  May 4th 7+2

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry!

Any appointments? Questions?:    this Friday but probably won’t get an ultrasound until the week after

Rants/Raves?:  Faking feeling ok at work, I had to leave a meeting abruptly to puke. Then I had to make up some bullshit excuse. I’m sure I looked crazy.

How are you feeling?:   feeling so much sicker this time around, but I had a bad cold last week so not sure how much that is playing into it.

GTKY:  What would your dream babymoon be?       Greece!!!! A girl can dream

  • Due date/W+D: 8w1D

Baby is the size of a(n): "Denise's Pygmy Seahorse"

Any appointments? Questions?: No appointment until Oct. 11 which is so long away.

Rants/Raves?: None so far, only Monday!

    How are you feeling?:

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Before DD we did our babymoon to London,UK, I also did a girls trip even earlier in the pregnancy to LA. This time around I don't know if we will be able to get too far (we're in Canada) maybe to the state's as well? We'll see! I know I won't last all winter here without going somewhere

@sagems10 Each airline is different, some will say the latest is at 28 weeks, you would need to check with the airline you are going on and it wouldn't hurt to bring a dr note since they can deny you boarding.

  • *lurking from week 3*

@sagems10 you can definitely still travel at 30 weeks with your doctor's permission (assuming no complications). The flight might be uncomfortable, though. I think 32-35 weeks tends to be where airlines cut it off. I remember getting a note from my doc for my grandmother's funeral in case we decided to go (appt was right after I found out) but we ended up not going as my flight at 28 weeks was uncomfortable.

  • Due date/W+D: 7+1

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry or raspberry depending on the app

Any appointments? Questions?: not until October 5th!

Rants/Raves?:  I’m wishing I could have my first appt before October 5th haha. But just the usual... nursing school is crazy, toddler is crazy. Lol

How are you feeling?: fatigued and RLP

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Oh boy hmm... I’m just gonna say anywhere without my toddler! I’d miss him like crazy but I need a break! Maybe snorkeling in st Thomas?

  • @sagems10 I traveled to Boston area and back at 32-33 weeks last time. No problems at all and actually was upgraded because of it to business class on the way back. I have a friend who flew to CA for a baby moon with her 4th at 38 weeks. Baring no complications, you should be good to go.

    Due date/W+D: May 7th/6w+6

Baby is the size of a(n): honey bee 🐝

Any appointments? Questions?: no appts. No questions. I just want to see this little bean!

Rants/Raves?: Rant - still a single mom for the time being. I miss my husband and I hope he’s home soon from hunting. Everyone start crossing your fingers he gets an elk on the ground so we have meat in the freezer and, more importantly, my husband comes home! My son and I visited camp this weekend and while we all love being outdoors, camping with a 1.5 year old is no cake walk and seeing daddy for a hour midday isn’t enough to satiate any of us. I’m exhausted and I still have piles of laundry, food to prep, and a crazy busy work schedule with school given that this week holds parent night, an algebra test, the mile run, and I have to tutor on Wednesday. End rant.

How are you feeling?: Eh. Nausea is hitting midday and I’m definitely tired early afternoon. I wish I was a SAHM so I could nap when DS does. That would be heaven right now.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Hawaii! I want to go so badly. To sit on the beach or hike to a waterfall....dreamy!

  • Due date/W+D:  7w1d, due May 5 according to the bump calculator

Baby is the size of a(n): a blueberry

Any appointments? Questions? I start interviewing midwives next week. The first one is highly recommended by the VBAC community here in Washington. Any other VBAC mamas have recommended interview questions?

Rants/Raves?: I'm so exhausted with this pregnancy! Why does caffiene have to be bad!? This mama needs a coffee IV.

How are you feeling?: Other than tired I feel great so far! Super excited to experience this pregnancy with my fiancé which will be completely new conpared to going it alone with my first. He is so excited.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Well we were supposed to be going on our Hawaiian honeymoon in May, guess we will be changing those plans! I would love to have a honeymoon/babymoon in Hawaii earlier in the year or I'm dying to visit Cuba, Ireland, and Australia.

  • @rufflifephilly if you ever get the chance absolutely go snorkeling in St.Thomas! We had a carribean cruise destination wedding to attend this past May and that was the only excision we went on. Turtle Cove was amazing! So beautiful!
  • @fuscok88 have your coffee! You can safely have up to 200mg of caffeine which is a little more than two cups of coffee.

    DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe
    DD2: October 2016
    DC3: coming May 2019

  • new update! They called and said I can have a dating ultrasound tomorrow  I dont need to wait until Oct 11th!
  • @fuscok88 I had a VBAC, and I don't know what the reason for your CS was, but maybe posit a similar scenario and ask about it? With my first kiddo, the CS was because her heart rate was dropping with each contraction. With my second kiddo, her heart rate was a little sketchy, and of course I thought that meant they would whisk me to surgery, but my nurse suggested pushing on every other contraction to see if that helped (thankfully it did, and we progressed like that until the end).

Obvs. for some CS reasons that won't really apply, like if the baby is breech or something.

  • @k2k2tpg lol thanks! I do still have a cup in the morning but I'm normally a coffee all day drinker, though I did cut back when we were TTC
  • @fuscok88 aahhh... I've only ever been a 2 cup a day person. Any more and I get the shakes.

  • @fuscok88 I'm also a hopeful VBAC-er, so please keep us updated on what  you hear about that!
@brie_and_almonds I'm glad to hear it sounds like your VBAC went well!  Our CS was because of breech presentation, so hopefully that doesn't happen again.

    Due date/W+D: May 2, 7+4

Baby is the size of a(n): Brookeisa micra chameleon (thanks, Ovia) or blueberry

Any appointments? Questions?:  Not until September 28.  I've tried to move it three times now and they have zero openings until mid-October after that.

Rants/Raves?: Just waiting for that appointment.

How are you feeling?: I keep waffling between being hungry and nauseated, as well as tired and dull aches in the abdominal area.  Food sounds terrible, ice cream sounds amazing.  And cupcakes.  And chocolate. I don't really have the sore breasts this time around, but I read that it's not uncommon to not have those in the second pregnancy.  I keep wishing I had more symptoms though, not that it would mean anything more positive necessarily.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be?  Oooh good question! I was going to say I'd like to go back to Iceland, but the (somewhat) limited food options don't sound great with my food aversions.  Somewhere relaxing with a spa with prenatal massages sounds super nice.  Maybe Vegas, for all the food and the spas and pools.

  • @mrsdee15 yep, my VBAC was a success. I was a VBAC baby 30 years ago, so I felt really confident it could be safe and successful. I'm hoping for another one this time around. Recovery was MUCH easier than with my CS, so if I can do it again, I'm all for it.

  • @sagems10 I’ve got an earbud today, too, haha

7w5d and feeling pretty terrible...got sick for the first time Saturday night so that was fun.  It hit me out of NOWHERE and I felt pretty gross yesterday too but was able to keep eating all day.  My stomach feels a lot better today but I’m still just completely exhausted.  Getting really anxious about my next ultrasound which is Thursday, I’ve never made it this far before and I just feel like I’m waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me!

DH and I got to go to a friends condo down in Palm Island last spring (right around the time the baby is due actually) and we are hoping to be able to make it down there again!!!

  • @brie_and_almonds I haven't seen anyone else on here share a birth story so IDK if that is allowed or if it should carry a TW but essentially my csection was likely due to early and unnecessary interventions forcing something my body and baby weren't ready for. Good idea though. I definitely plan to discuss the details of my birth with her more in depth so she has an idea of if I'm a good candidate for a home birth and how she would handle the same scenario. I'm glad you had a successful VBAC and good luck on a second one! Success stories make me so much more hopeful!

  • Due date/W+D: 7w, 4 days

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Any appointments? Questions?: Not until the 2nd week in October

Rants/Raves?: I can’t take my migraine medicine, and Tylenol has never worked for me.

How are you feeling?: Terrible. I was doing pretty well with just the extreme fatigue until last night. I had to miss work today due to vomiting, nausea and migraine. I’m hoping it was some sort of illness and not what I have to look forward to for the next 5+ weeks 😩

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Anywhere there are no kids. I have three older kids and work in a school...I would love a break from aaaaaall the talking.

  • Thanks everyone for your input on travel! I will definitely be talking to my dr. abbot or at our first appointment. The only thing I'd be hesitant about is putting money down and having complications along theway and losing the money... but that's a long ways away so I'm sure we'll figure it out :)

@ashleaf2018 girl, I am so sorry! I felt like a rockstar for handling one vomit and one dry heave session. You definitely deserve a medal or something!

@aels12 I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm grateful that I already passed my milestone so I feel much better, but I know how bad that PGAL anxiety is. Sending you all the good thoughts!

@BWhitta yay, DD buddies?! So fun! Good luck at your ultrasound Thursday!
  • Due date/W+D: 7+3 Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry Any appointments? Questions?: Next RE appointment is 9/25 and then I immediately turn around and see the OB on 10/1. Rants/Raves?: I have actually lost weight since this pregnancy started. Nothing sounds good and I have to force myself to eat. Also, DH really wants me to try to eat healthy and he side eyes me every time I try to snag some ice cream or anything with sugar in it. How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Nausea sort of let off this week for some reason. Last week it was ridiculous. GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Probably somewhere in the mountains. DH and I love traveling to tropical places but we typically drink a ton when we do haha

  • Due date/W+D: 5/5 7w 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): Blueberry or a playing die

Any appointments? Questions?: 10 more days until my dating scan! Gahhh hurry up, time!

Rants/Raves?: I miss caffeine. I never had a ton before, just a cup or two of coffee. I switched to decaf once I got my BFP, but I miss feeling alert! I had some iced tea yesterday and the tiny amount I had made me feel weird so my body must not miss it that much.

How are you feeling?: Overall, pretty good. WAY better than last time so I am happy about that. I've been sleeping pretty well and have had a nice appetite. Feeling nauseated and queasy a lot during the day, but eating usually helps. Headaches, dry mouth and post nasal drip are all no fun right now though.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Somewhere with amazing food so I can eat all the things. Maybe Italy? Pasta, gelato, that all sounds lovely.

  • Due date/W+D: 5/5 7w 3d

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

Any appointments? Questions?: First OB appointment is Monday 9/24!

Rants/Raves?: Feeling a little nervous and ready to see this baby so I know everything is alright.  I don't have many symptoms other than being tired, but I didn't with my first pregnancy either.

How are you feeling?: Emotional!  Being pregnant on top of being an already emotion person has be an absolute mess about my baby turning 1 tomorrow!

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Hawaii or Greece!

  • Due date/W+D: 5/5 7w 3d-  Shout out to @jla1018 and @zuuls_mom and all my other 5/5 mama's to be!

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

Any appointments? Questions?: First OB appointment with dating ultrasound will be tomorrow morning- 9/20-  I'm excited!  OB went with the first date of my last period-  it would put me at 8w 3d in their book, but I know when I ovulated, I've been having 34-35 day cycles, so I'm definitely a May mom.

Rants/Raves?: Just feeling the same nervousness a lot of you all are feeling, wanting to hear the heartbeat and get an okay from the doctor.  Also really wanting to share the news with someone other than DH.

How are you feeling?: I feel tired a lot, even though I'm getting a lot of good sleep- I've been having really weird vivid dreams every night, which has been entertaining.  I still have a weird metallic taste in my mouth and I'm starting to have some round ligament pain from time to time.  Some nausea, not a lot.  Been eating a lot of snacks lately.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be?  I'm excited I'll actually be going on a trip this time around!  Missed my girls weekend last weekend because of Hurricane Florence, so we've rescheduled for the end of January-  going to South Florida, where I can hopefully be warm and relax for a few days.  And have a weekend away from the DD.

  • Due date/W+D: May 7  7w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): playing die

Any appointments? Questions?: dating ultrasound in 6 days! Can't wait, but also very nervous

Rants/Raves?: DH just had extensive dental work done today (about 3 hours' worth) that just cost us a TON of $$$, and insurance only paid for 1/5 of it. He hates the dentist, and gets severe anxiety if people are poking around his mouth, so he just doesn't go. He hasn't gone in 5 years, and the only thing that sent him this time was a cracked tooth. He still isn't done with the work yet. I'm so angry this all could've been avoided if he'd just gone twice a year like he's supposed to.

How are you feeling?: off and on between nauseated, feeling "bleh", and super exhausted.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? I'm more of a homebody, and DH is, too. Maybe a quick overnight stay at a nice hotel near us?

  • Due date/W+D: 7 weektoday Due May 1

Baby is the size of a(n):raspberry

Any appointments? Questions?: Had an u/s last week and got to see the little peanut, it actually feels real after this!

Rants/Raves?: Tired of being nauseated all the time, and munchies hormones are making me super irritable. Probably being a tad snappy towards the hubs...

How are you feeling?: see above lol

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? To go back to St. Lucia, just munch husband and I. We had our dream honeymoon there 8 years ago and it wasn’t amazing. I would love to go back.

  • Finally jumping in on this thread since I have confirmed my due date!

    Due Date/W+D:  7 wks +1 / Due May 6th

Baby is the size of a/n:
    M&M

Any appointments? Questions? DH and I had a dating ultrasound on Monday, which was both annoying and comforting.

Rants/Raves: Rave- as mentioned above, we had our first U/S this week. The office had recently changed equipment so we didn't get to see much, and we were unable to get a printout (fine), but what really annoyed me after the fact was that the tech basically flashed us the screen when she found the baby, and then turned around and moved on so fast it wasn't even funny.  DH barely even saw the screen before she flipped it around again.  I didn't make a big deal of it at the time, but have sort of kicked myself for not making her slow down and let us actually look for more than a tenth of a second. /rant.

    How are you feeling?:
This week has been low level, near constant nausea coupled with plenty of fatigue and very early bed times! lol.

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be?: DH and I have yet to go on our actual honeymoon.  I deployed 6mo after we got married, and between work, army, another deployment on the horizon, and other commitments we are pretty sure that we won't get to go until sometime after he returns in 2020... I would love to actually make our Galapagos honeymoon happen before baby comes!

  • Feels nice to join stuff with other expected mommies around the same due date as mine! (:

    Due date/W+D: May 2 / 9wks + 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): Cherry

Any appointments? Questions?: Have a check-up appointment on the 3rd, so confused because my midwife isn't giving me a early ultrasound she's basing it off my ER visit ( was told baby has a heart beat at 7 weeks ) so we shall see I actually wanted to hear my baby and get a picture ya know...

Rants/Raves?: Really hope I get to see heartbeat and get a photo. Nervous since this is my second pregnancy, the first was a missed miscarriage at 6 weeks and I found out at week 8. The baby had no heart beat, so its a good thing that this one has a heart beat! & I'm going on that.. Midwife says when she gets the photos back from ER shes going to determine if I'll need a early ultrasound or if my next one will be at 20 weeks -_- ( I went to the ER at 7 weeks because I was scared there would be no heartbeat again at 6-7 weeks like my last pregnancy, but there was :)

How are you feeling?: fatigued, nauseous, have to sleep on fluffy pillows.. insomia

GTKY: What would your dream babymoon be? Fiji Islands, anywhere with beautiful clear water and waterfalls
