ny appointments? Questions?: appointment next week, and hoping the NIPT results come in soon.
Rants/Raves?: Saturday and Sunday morning were super busy, and therefore Sunday afternoon was completely lazy. The down time was great, but did not get all the cleaning done...
How are you feeling?: Steadily improving, nausea is mostly gone (assuming I eat regularly), some RLP and feeling very chubby right now.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook? I love doing homemade lasagna (we make the noodles too) but it makes an epic mess of the kitchen. Also love baking just about anything.
Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment is on 9/27, hopefully it's a lot easier to find/hear baby's heartbeat this time!
Rants/Raves?: Yay baby bump!
How are you feeling?: I had horrendous left lower back pain this Saturday (and of course I had to work) but luckily it's gone now...I must have slept on it wrong!
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook? I agree with @lelkcot - I love to bake (in fact, I made brownies yesterday haha)! But I'd say my favorite signature dish (and hubby's favorite) would be teriyaki chicken/sirloin with copycat Kobe restaurant hibachi noodles and stir-fry, on the menu for tonight! I feel so fancy using my wok
Rants/Raves? Rave: my mom is coming to visit on Thursday, and we'll announce the pregnancy. It will be her first grandchild, so hopefully she's excited.
How are you feeling? On zofran, but still ended up vomiting once yesterday and nauseous today. All my pants feel tight, including baggy sweatpants. Tired. Took a two hour nap yesterday.
GTKY: I love baking. I usually don't mind doing dishes, but the idea of clean up after baking stops me from it usually.
FX for those of you waiting for NIPT results. That wait is the worst!
Due date: 3/12
Any appointments? Questions?: Next appointment is 10/2.
Rants/Raves?: We're getting our house ready to go on the market and we have a roof leak. Ugh. Hoping we can get it fixed and ready to go ASAP.
How are you feeling?: still so, so nauseous at night. Some RLP. And I'm ALWAYS starving.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook? I envy those of you who like to bake; I"m terrible at it! But I do love to cook. My favorite dish is Swedish meatballs. I want to make them now but all of my good pots and pans are packed up. Hoping it can be the meal I use to break in the new kitchen!
I live in the midwest, and even though this spring when it stayed cold for so long, I SWORE I wouldn't say anything like this, but...I am SOOOOO ready for fall, mostly for the sake of my wardrobe. All my shorts are getting too tight (and I didn't think I'd be in them long enough to warrant buying maternity shorts), and it's still too warm to transition into leggings. I just want it to be a bit cooler out so that I can start wearing my maternity leggings and pants and be more comfortable
How are you feeling?:
So. Much. Better! I've actually had energy to get things done, no more constant carbing to keep the nausea at bay, no more dry heaving in the morning. I am counting my lucky stars that I'm having a better 2nd tri.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook?
My favorite dish to cook is risotto (mine specifically is sausage and spinach). It's a labor of love, because you have to add the broth a little bit at a time and let it cook down, and keep repeating until it's juuuuuuuust right. Also everyone I've ever made it for has loved it, and it's always nice to get compliments on one's cooking
Any appointments? Questions?: 16 week appt is next week Monday.
Rants/Raves?: I am so sick of rain. Since the beginning of the school year, so 3 weeks ago, we've had outdoor recess maybe 4 times. So annoying.
How are you feeling?: Not bad. I'm feeling better in the evenings which were my worst times in the first trimester.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook?
I don't love to cook but I've got a few dishes that I love to eat, so I will pick one of those. The first thing that came to mind was Mexican Stuffed Shells, which combines my two favorite things - Mexican food and pasta.
Rants/Raves?: Rant - So, we got our all normal NIPT back (it´s another boy!) and finally told my ILs we´re pregnant (we told my parents in August when we saw them because they are much calmer about these things). And while my ILs were thrilled, one of the first things my MIL said was "Did you get pregnant naturally?". When I said "No...it was another IVF baby" she made a face. A disappointed face. We told her 2 years ago when I got pregnant with our son that the odds of us conceiving naturally were virtually zero due to our combined fertility issues but she didn´t want to hear it and kept saying that pregnancy magically fixes a lot of problems. Um...what?! That is not how stuff works. She also gets really uneasy about the idea of having frozen embryos that may never be implanted. So we didn´t (and will never) tell her that we have one on ice.
End of Rant
How are you feeling?: I still experience nausea a lot of times after I eat. It feels so gross and I hope it ends soon.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook? I like baking cookies and cakes although I am terrible at decorating them. I like cooking a lot of things especially new recipes that I´ve found online. It is hard to choose a favorite!
Any appointments? Questions?: next appt is the 26th. Anyone else around 15 weeks starting to feel tiny movements? I can feel movement at least once a day, and it’s usually around the same time after lunch. I think that must be when baby is most active. I know it’s super early, but this is my fourth pregnancy to make it this far and I have a posterior placenta which helps.
Rants/Raves?: I can feel when this baby hangs out low, and it is already super uncomfortable when they decide to do this. I hope it’s not a trend for when they’re bigger in size because it hurts.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good for the most part. I misplaced some important meds and thankfully was right at that point they could be refilled. I was starting to freak out, bc the meds could impact how I feel.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook? I’m not a huge cooker myself, my husband does a way better job than me. I like making soups and chili. My chili isn’t spicy at all, so my husband prefers his own chili.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
Any appointments? Questions?: had my first appointment with my new OB office today and it was great. Facility is nice, staff was nice, and it was by *far* the least terrible pap I’ve ever had! Got a referral to see the high risk doc and then normal visits.
Rants/Raves?: I wish I was feeling movement! Can’t wait.
How are you feeling?: usually pretty good except for the regular headaches.
GTKY: what’s your favorite dish to cook? I also love to bake but haven’t in such a long time. Before my daughter was born I was on a total macaron kick - loved experimenting with different color/flavor combinations. However they are quite the labor of love and I haven’t made them in years. I also love making spaghetti & lasagna & chili. I have a great cornbread recipe and a delicious braised chicken recipe. I wish my husband would go back on a normal diet instead of keto so I could make these yummy foods!
