Stolen from April 2019 - I know this is somewhat of a controversial chart - but my PGAL brain finds it very comforting.Hi ladies,
This is the chart that I look at daily. All credit goes to
@l4rk for the following:
I've noticed that no matter how many times I look up miscarriages rates, I walk away feeling only slightly better (at best). I'm the kind of person who finds reassurance in statistics, but for some reason, all of the existing posts weren't doing it for me. And then I realized why: articles on miscarriage focus on the chances you're going to miscarry and all the comments share miscarriage stories--they don't focus on how many people DON'T have miscarriages and go on to have happy, healthy babies!
I adapted
this week-by-week chart and modified it so that it would focus on the positive rather than the negative! Since I found the positive spin benefiting my peace of mind, I thought it might benefit some of you too.

ETA Stats from Expecting Better based off her research. Reversed to show positive side.
6W ~89%
7W ~92.5%
8W ~94.9%
9W ~96.5%
10W ~97%
11W+ >98%
Overall odds of making it full-term based on Expecting Better:
~95% if no previous miscarriage. 75% with previous miscarriage (does not matter if multiple or not). She implies it's likely higher than 75% if using progesterone supplements but doesn't have the stats for that.

*TW* Like many others on this board, I've also experienced a MC- it was 6w into my first pregnancy back in 2013 and the experience has definitely impacted my state of mind in every subsequent pregnancy. I'm cautiously optimistic, but the fear of loss is always in the back of my mind right up until I deliver. However, I am comforted by the statistics as the days and weeks progress and I love seeing the numbers presented in this positive light. Thanks again!
That being said, the ONLY thing that helps me get past that is the mantra “today, I am pregnant.” I have no control over the future but right now, I am pregnant and having this baby, and that is comforting. Thinking about all the what if’s is inevitable but in the end, it won’t change the outcome.
Someone in my BMB group shared this early on: https://datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php
I found it incredibly reassuring. Thought you guys might too.

Here is a better site (and should be just as reassuring) for those who are analytical and want to dig into what the research says
Lies, Damned Lies, and Miscarriage Statistics
ETA @kbrown2385 TW The night before I found out that my 2nd pregnancy had a chromosomal abnormality incompatible with life at my 13 week u/s I dreamt that I had one the MegaMillions. I was right I did win a very bitter and sad lottery. End TW
You're right though - I have two LC, so I know it's possible. That does help.
