I'm 36.4 and I'm a fingertip dilated and have a really soft cervix. Really excited because with DS1 I wasnt anything at 39.6 weeks when I was induced. Glad my body is doing its thing! Did the Step B test and expecting a positive again since I was this time last year. Next week getting another ultrasound for weight check at 37.4.
Had my appt yesterday at 36 weeks 5 days and I too am a fingertip dialated and soft cervix which the doctor said was right in line with where I should be. However, baby is lower than expected at -2 station already which is why I have had SO much muscle pain down there the last week & a half!
36 +3. GBS was negative. I also got my flu shot and signed all my consent paperwork for VBAC and circumcision. Heart rate looked good. No ultrasound or NST.
35+3 and I’m 2cm and 50% effaced. Will be re-doing the GBS next week, I had it done when I was in hospital but it’s only good for 5 weeks so will be expiring.
Had my 37 week / pre-op appointment today! He ran me through what happens from registration to the c-section. We have to check in at 5:30am! Get all set in ob, then he comes in with nurses and the anesthesiologist, we all head down to the OR and have these babies!! They take them out, DH can cut the cords, they'll clean the baby, then I can do skin to skin while they do it all over again with baby B. I can do skin to skin with both and try to breastfeed while they clean and close me up and if I dont feel like I can in the moment they'll take the babies to the nursery until I'm back in my room and rested a bit.
I can't believe it's so close!! 9 more days unless they have other plans!
We met with our pediatricians office today and they seem really great! They will round at our hospital to come see the baby, and they said they do not take patients that won’t vaccinate so I liked that as well. 34 week OB appointment tomorrow, but nothing real exciting expected there.
@mamabearcj ahh! so excited for you!! Of course babies can always have there own plan but hope it all goes as smoothly as planned. So crazy to think how close everyone is.
Monday I had my 34w week appointment (34+5). OB went over some logistics of when to call, delivery plans. I am still measuring several weeks ahead and I have an US scheduled for 36w to check baby's size/position. She may want to induce based on size but we will discuss that after the US. Next week starts weekly appointments and NST.
@jennybean80 is this the longest you’ve ever gone?
37 + 2 I hd my appointment today. Heartbeat was 130, baby is head down, Group B strep was negative. I declined a cervical check because i was in a hurry. Hopefully, they will do one next week. 11 more work days!!!
36w today. Had BPP/growth scan on Monday and NST/midwife appointment today. Thankfully baby has picked up weight and is now in the 30 percentile so no induction until 39 weeks. I'm still struggling with horrible reflux and vomiting in addition to my worsening hip pain. We're trying to plan the induction for the day my eldest daughter is off work so she can help with watching her younger siblings. If baby comes on his/her own a different day I'll be alone because dh will be home with the kids.
36 wk appt yesterday! Had a growth scan, and baby is now 42nd percentile and around 6 lbs (if accurate). Four weeks ago, she was 15th percentile. So I'm glad she's growing! But can't believe it was over 2 lbs in 4 weeks. Also had GBS swab, waiting for results.
No NST or cervical check or anything. Might start those next week, but doc said they might not worry about cervical checks unless I'm having contractions. She restated that they likely wouldn't let me go past due date with diet-controlled GD, but haven't scheduled anything yet. I can't believe the end is near! But the anticipation may kill me.
Next appt next Friday.
ETA: Kid is super head down, and my bladder is feeling it.
I just got back from 37w appointment. 2cm dilated and the doctor wasn't specific but said I was "thinner" than last week. I had a mini panic last night about how close labor is!
35w+2, had a routine appointment today and had the GBS swab done, will get results in a few days. Everything looking good, BP has gone down since my last appointment which is great. Had blood work done since we're on platelet watch, but overall everything's good!
Also turned in my birth plan to my OB. He agreed with everything on it, and I thanked him for the false sense of control putting it together gave me. Also freaking out about how close things are! I always heard the last few weeks drag on but I feel like since hitting 30w everything is flying!
I mentioned on FB as well but....I got a call this morning and I'm GBS positive....womp womp. I was negative with DS, so this is new for me. I'm nervous because they want to administer antibiotics 4 hours before baby is born ideally...and i didn't have 4 hours with my son! My whole labour was less than 3.
@jennybean80 What happens if I don't get the antibiotics due to delivering to quickly? It seems the chances are very rare that anything would get passed on but its still a bit scary. Does it happen often that people are unable to get antiobiotics in time for whatever reason? Thanks for settling my nonsense fears
35+2 and also had GBS swab done. I was told it shouldn't affect chances for a VBAC, so i'm not really stressing. It was negative with my son, so hopefully its true this time around as well. I have had a lot of contractions and cramping, so they are avoiding cervical checks at the moment to avoid making it worse. I scheduled an ultrasound for 37 weeks to triple check baby's position, even though the doctor i saw this week swore on her life that baby was head down, and even proceeded to grab the head and wiggle it a little, saying "i'm grabbing your baby's head!" BP is nice and low, and things generally seem on track. Now time to sit back and wait for sh*t to hit the fan somehow!
33+6 appointment today. My blood pressure has been borderline the last few appointments, but no protein in my urine. Now it’s borderline with trace amounts of protein, but my dr didn’t seem too concerned. She just said to watch for other pre-e symptoms and we’ll see where it’s at when I come back in two weeks. I moved some can’t miss things around at work to before my next appointment, just in case. I figure if I’m prepared, everything will be just fine
I'm 33+6 today, had my weekly follow up today. All of my babies except for one were born at 36 weeks...my doctor is thinking he will come early too, so we will be doing the group B test next week just in case....plus he's been measuring 2 weeks ahead...we didn't talk about inducing but with GD and advance maternal age....we most likely won't be going to 40 weeks regardless....
@nasalot188 if you don’t get the 4 hours coverage it will depend on your hospital’s protocols as to what happens. Most just observe baby and watch for signs of infection for at least 24 hours and great if anything develops, but potentially they could start baby on antibiotics after birth. I’d ask your doctor what their norms are.
36+6 had my appt Thurs. Got GBS test, will get results at next week's appointment. Baby is head down and I'm having all the cramps. Midwife suggested Benadryl to get some rest in case it's pre-labor. Will start cervical checks next week unless I don't want it but given all the cramping this past week I think I want to know whether it's been productive or not! She said I'm cramping earlier than most FTMs she's had so maybe baby will come early. With my luck she will be late and I'll just be miserable the next 3 weeks lol
Had my appointment on Friday (35+3) for the GBS swab. Pretty uneventful, but she did say that I have a varicose vein down there which is why I've had so much discomfort. Once I found it myself I realized that I'm constantly having pain right in that one spot, so it all makes sense now. I also felt like an idiot because apparently my BH contractions are actually real contractions, they just don't stick around at all. She said it was completely normal, but if I have more than 5 in an hour they want me to come in. No cervical check or anything. I'm not sure if/when they do those, but I'm guessing not until at least 37 weeks.
@chyvie I actually remembered someone in this group saying they had one! I've never had varicose veins before, so it's super fun that my first one is in such a special place. I didn't even think to ask any questions when the NP told me because it just seems like they find something new at every appointment and I'm really starting to get annoyed now.

glad I'm not the only one to have a vericose vein down there! It's pretty awful. I hope it goes down after birth.
