Re: FFFC 9/14

  • I'm keeping foster kittens in what will eventually be the nursery.  A few weeks ago I acquired a free Uppababy bassinet that supposedly attaches to the stroller I plan on getting (although it's a really old version so I'm not convinced it's actually compatible). I left it in there because it was so cute watching the kittens snuggle together in a little bassinet aaaaand unsurprisingly today I realized they've totally been peeing in it. I'm probably just going to try to sanitize it and might still use it for the baby if it can be cleaned...picture for cuteness.

  • We had to do a GI cleanout with DS last weekend and it didn't hit him until a few days later.  Every night this week, he has woken up about 2 or 3am after having an accident in bed and I haven't been able to fall back asleep because, well, preggo insomnia.  Last night he did it again so I told him to put his clothes in the bathroom sink and go back to bed and I never got up.  This morning I woke up and realized that he went back to bed naked BUT at least he had common sense to put a t-shirt over the spot on his sheets so he didn't lay in it.  I might have spent the first 30 mins of my day stripping his bed and washing his clothes and sheets but at least I got a full nights sleep!
  • Dh has been gone for 2 days with work stuff so I am holding down the fort alone with a migraine. Last night DD2 threw up on me not once but twice. I threw the clothes in the washer and I just keep running it for multiple cycles because I am afraid to take it out and see what condition the clothes are in.

  • DD was fussy in her crib this morning an hour earlier than she usually wakes up, but I was sooooo wanting to keeep sleeping. I let her stay in her crib an extra 15 minutes tossing/whining before getting her because I was trying to deny that she's awake and hoping she'd fall back asleep. She wasn't straight up crying, so that was my justification.

  • I babysat for my 3 nieces/ nephews today.  I found myself thinking on more than 1 occasion "I'm not sure I can do this but I think it's too late"
  • @ersh1010 are you a FTM too? I have thoughts too but you also were watching 3 and that is a lot.
  • @ersh1010 I know the feeling.
  • @mtengl yes I'm a ftm. @leighbrek I've babysat many times before but shit got real today lol even though I realize I'll have 1 not 3
  • @ersh1010 It seems a bit less nerve racking when you can be like, "Ah well, I'll be giving them back to their parents in a few hours."
Even just the one... It's a permanent fixture! lol
  • @tosh24 for what it's worth I don't think that makes you a terrible person at all! You going to visit him was way more meaningful than attending a funeral. And it sounds like if he had wanted one, you would have gone. The relief you feel is natural and not at all horrible.
  • DS took an amazing 3.5 hour long nap today, but I fell asleep downstairs for the last 1.5 hours of it, so I'm not entirely sure that I didn't sleep through him being awake for a while. There was no lasting damage if that did happen.
