Whether the accomplishment is small (I got out of bed and went to work every day last week!) or big (I made a freezers’ worth of meals!), let us celebrate your success with you!
Finally put together the stroller, hospital bag, and birth notification distro list. It’ll need some edits but at least it’s started. Today will be putting up the new baby gate and boiling a few pacifiers, and then everything is done but the car seat! I’m so glad we are all getting so close to the pregnancy finish line.
I installed the baby car seat, which really meant carseat jigsaw for all 3 of them. So that was huge.
I also did a little stock-up food shopping and got some frozen stuff and dry goods to have on hand for what my husband is now referring to as the baby apocalypse (nesting for me means stocking up on everything as if Amazon can't deliver toilet paper in 24 hours if necessary).
And I've been doing some last minute things around my house... hanging a picture in the bedroom, replacing the ottoman in the loving room... More nesting, non-baby things that make the place feel nice and put-together for when we come home.
We got our rooms set up for the most part, instead of a nursery and bedroom set up we have a living space and bedroom/nursery combo which works nicely and I love! Got the hosptial bags started and going to convince myself to start thank you cards today too
Finished thank you notes from showers! Set up baby area in our room, finished hospital bag! Also finished prep for my last court hearing before leave and finished most of my case coverage memos.
We finally finished DS’s new “big boy” room on Saturday, and he loves it! It’s a Curious George/space theme. Now I can start getting the baby room (his old room) back to newborn mode.
I made one freezer meal the other day (I think it was technically August but whatever) and want to get one done on Wednesday when DS is at day care.
DH and I have been (slowly) working on getting everything ready for the babies. I wish he had a little more time off before they come to get things done since it’s so hard for me to move around, but I’m just going to power through it. We didn’t get to the nursery yesterday, we got side tracked cleaning the kitchen and front closet, so that’s on my list of things today.
The nursery is finally painted, I organized his clothes and started washing some newborn and 0-3m hand me downs. We also had carpet people come on Saturday and we are getting that installed on Thursday. I started my hospital bag lists and plan to pack those this coming weekend. We still have a lot to do but I'm hopeful we have at least 3 more weekends before baby comes to get everything done!!
We FINALLY made some progress on New Kid's nursery. Moved old bed and dresser out. Crib and changing table part of dresser assembled. Airplane mobile hung, vinyl stencils hung on the wall, rocking chair and stool moved from DS2's room to nursery. Also, I found this airplane baby/toddler rocker on fb marketplace for $5 (new its like $70!!), so DH helped me take it apart (holy cow you should see all of the stuffing we pulled out of this thing!!) and I was able to wash the cover, so it looks brand new. Now we just have to reassemble it!
Baby blanket is DONE! washed several times to soften it up and trimmed all the fringe. Just need to put it in my hospital bag. Oh, and I even grabbed a couple small gifts (from baby to big brothers) at the store so I should probably wrap those and stick them in there too.
All we have left now is just curtains/rods and a new sheet/changing pad cover set and we're done!
Finally got the nursery room cleared of all the storage stuff we were keeping there, got the carpet cleaned, assembled the nursery furniture and are about halfway through organizing all the baby stuff! Seeing the room look like a room with actual furniture in it is making me feel a lot more prepared now! We also put up a baby gate to that room and somehow the cat is actually staying out? Don't know how long that will last but enjoying it so far since I don't have to cover everything with foil.
Also ordered some clothing for my hospital bag so FX I'll have that done by this upcoming weekend. We're getting close!!!
Finally finished putting together DS's bed. It's from IKEA so of course it came in 1 million boxes lol. It's a great loft bed with its own dresser and a desk underneath. Perfect for doing his homework in his room without disruption from his sisters. His old dresser is now in the baby's room. If only we had some actual clothes to put in it lol. Going shopping for a few things today after my appointment.
@ummibtihaj , we got my DS1 (5) a loft bed too so we could give his crib/toddler bed to the new baby. He LOVES his loft bed and it just frees up so much space in his room for playing
Our oldest deep cleaned the bathroom, the next oldest organized all the bookshelves (except the two in their rooms), and my mom filled our freezer with meal prep. So...while i may not personally have accomplished too much, I did get to cross some big things off of our list.
Seems like the more I try to get stuff checked off the list, the more pops up, or nothing works out right so it adds more or delays it. Getting frustrated.
I did however clean our embarrassingly dirty oven yesterday, and it was pretty much the hardest thing I've ever done. So I feel accomplished about that.
I felt like I accomplished so much this weekend, which is the first time in a long time I can say that!
Did tons of laundry, so now all the newborn & 0-3 month size stuff is clean, along with all the baby blankets, burp cloths and swaddles. Also washed all my nursing tanks & tops, so I'm ready to pack those into my hospital bag. I also bought two coming home outfits for the new baby, so now those are ready too! Now I just have to get out the old infant car seat to clean it a bit, and actually pack my hospital bag, and then I'm pretty much ready!
I also baked two plum cakes yesterday since have an abundance of plums on our tree, so that was a nice treat!
Last night I did all of our thank you's from my shower and DH's diaper party at work. Took my almost 4 hours, but such a relief to have those done! I also used our target online completion discount with the gift cards we got, and moved a couple things over to Amazon to buy with that completion discount. Feeling pretty stocked and ready!
Got the crib and mobile set up, all the newborn 0-3 clothes washed, bought new bottles and pacifers, washed all the blankets got the swing put together. Im somewhat getting there. Glad I got something done this week.
As of today I have about 25 meals in the freezer!!! Some are just enough for the two of us to eat but some are multi servings! On top of that I also have 3 different veggies side dishes with 3 batches of each. I would tell my husband but he would probably tell me to stop lol as long as I can stand for short periods and we have some freezer space I will keep prepping/cooking! This seems to be the only thing I can do and DH has to do everything else.
Despite my mom’s repetitive comment (about anything and everything) that “Dan can put that together” (which I think are meant as a compliment for how helpful he is but comes across as her saying I can’t build things myself...), I put together this coffee island yesterday so I could organize all our coffee/tea/hot cocoa in one spot and free up additional counter and cabinet space for baby things! Plus it’s from amazon which means it came in a gazillion pieces and i did it all myself. #girlscanbuildshittoo
Then I put together the pack and play with the changer and napper (the pack and play itself is very easy but man the accessories gave me some shit lol).

I got all the empty boxes in the dining room broken down and a donation pile started in the basement. Next up: empty a cabinet in the kitchen for bottles and other baby feeding supplies.
We did a ton of moving prep this weekend (which in reality is barely a dent). We managed to get down and packed all of our pictures/art/frames, the crib taken apart, DHs bazillion DVDs packed, the rest of the 0-6 month baby clothes washed, some of the 3-6 month clothes along with the crib sheets repacked for the move, bassinet up and in our room, my hospital bag and DDs over night bag packed and in the car. On top of all the normal laundry getting done, grocery shopping, picking up DD some fall clothes, and making banana bread. We crushed the weekend and feel so accomplished. Now DH is passed out on the couch haha.
We were suppose to do a yard sale but it rained all weekend. We did managed to get all baby girls clothes washed, folded and organized and the same with DS. I now have a couple totes that I'm going to bring to Kid2Kid tomorrow.
The nursery/playroom is almost cleaned out so I can start setting that up next week!
I got my car detailed and rearranged the kids, hopefully we can make it work with 3 accross. I"m at least attempting because I'm ready to walk in to a dealer and trade in my car.
I also have in my possession a Halo bassinet, RNP, and boppy (borrowed from my brother) and a ton of diapers. I've bought the car seat and have an ergo. We're going for minimalism with #3 so aside from a stroller and diaper changing pad, I think we're ready with gear. This upcoming weekend I"m planning on freezer meals. Never did it before, but can't hurt.
@tropical1982 getting my car detailed is on my list! It seems there is not a vacuum strong enough in this world to get the dog hair our of my car, so paying someone has becoming my only option.

@cagncoo12 in my experience with two kids - I've figured out I will have to get my car detailed at least every 6 months. It's too dang hot to do it myself and we travel enough to need it. Funny thing when I was dropping off my car this weekend, the intake person was a lady and asked - "are you getting ready for the baby?" Yup! You get me! lol I didn't feel so judged she understood my struggle.
I had my car detailed two weeks ago before I installed the car seat. Between stains on the upholstery and dog fur...
I don’t mind cleaning it myself, but I don’t shampoo, and dog fur seems to have some sort of magic adhesive going. (Even with getting it detailed, I still have plenty of black fur interwoven on the tan fabric.)
Finished all the thank-you cards, returned a couple of unneeded gifts, and made a list of things I need to accomplish before October 22nd (lol, it counts)

So crazy how close we all are...eeeee!
