How far along? 19 weeks - I’ve got a zucchini in here!

Appts this coming week? AS today and monthly Doppler appt Thursday

How're you feeling this week?  I have a ton of pressure way low down like pubic bone area.  I’m not sure if baby is way down there or what - I’ll be asking about it this week.  It’s fine except it makes me paranoid that somethings going on!  I also feel sick if I eat sweets which is odd to me.  And I feel sick if I take tums.

Rants/Raves:  None right now.  I’m sure I’ll come up with something!

GTKY:  What have you been craving?  Greek, Italian, Mexican.  Basically strong flavors.

  • 23 weeks today!

No appointments until October 5th. Did have an impromptu appointment on the couch with my own doppler this morning since I haven't felt baby much in the last 24 hours. Took a long time to find the HB so that didn't really help my anxiety....

Symptom-wise, I'm feeling pretty good. Tired, a bit nauseated here and there still, and constipated, but otherwise fine. Emotionally, better than the last couple of weeks, except I really hope baby kicks up a storm soon to help ease my anxiety.

Rants/Raves: DH finally set up our desktop in the office so I'm hoping participating now is easier. I hate doing check-ins on the app and my laptop makes the format of all my posts screwy (no spaces between anything!) so I'm hoping having my computer back will be a good thing for my bumping! Oh, and I started filling in my cloth diaper stash (didn't have enough newborn diapers with DS) so I should have some fluffy mail arriving this week!

GTKY:  Nothing really. Just raw broccoli and carrots. I guess that's why I've only gained 5 pounds so far lol! I still have aversions to some things, including carbs. I won't complain since I started off overweight - the grief and stress of loss and SIF saw me pack on 40 lbs over the last few years so I'm definitely hoping my weight gain will be minimal. I can't wait to get healthy again after babe is here.

    How far along? 26+2

Appts this coming week? Nothing this week

How're you feeling this week? I am feeling ok, getting more tired and my heartburn is getting out of control even with zantac

Rants/Raves: I had an evening from hell yesterday. It started with a piece of cake from local European foods store that tasted a good but a bit off. 2 hours after I developed wicked heartburn that Tums and zantac could not stop. After that my stomach started cramping and I started gaging. All that triggered BH contractions and I tried to drink some water to stop it. Well, I could not keep that water down so I ended up throwing up everything I ate through the day. And BH kept coming and freaking me out! 2 hours into it I started feeling better but my anxiety was still there. So here I am at work feeling great ( compared to last night) after 3 hours of sleep. I was so freaked out I could not possibly sleep. I will call my doctor during lunch and maybe go there to check that all is well because BH freak me out! But baby boy is moving a lot so that makes me feel better.

GTKY:  I saw this on T1 and thought it was a good one - what have you been craving?

I am craving spicy stuff and sweets! I am so upset that cake made me sick!

  • @tosh24 Thank you!  So weird that tylenol bothers you, maybe it's just tougher on the tummy right now.  Sorry you're feeling anxious, hopefully baby starts moving more for you!!  Did you hear movement on the doppler?  Since it took you a while to find it maybe he/she's facing back or somewhere that is making it harder to feel him/her.

@DecemberDoll27 Thank you!  I'm so sorry you were sick and are having more BH!  I'm glad they're getting you in today.  Could you just be dehydrated from losing all the fluids?  That's a good idea about calling the bakery.

@mayflower513 I heard a small blip or two on the doppler but baby's HB was quieter than usual too. I was thinking the same thing - I think baby moved and is facing my back. Thankfully I have felt a decent amount of movement since I posted but it's softer than usual and it has also felt like baby is dancing on my cervix, so I think the issue might be positional.

ETA: @DecemberDoll27 Glad the doctor could fit you in today. My guess would also be dehydration and just a lot of use of those ab muscles last night. Hope your doctor can give you some reassurance!

  • @mayflower513 Thanks for starting this for us!  Hope your scan today goes/went well!  Scans seem so few and far between now (compared to with RE when there wasn’t much to see or do).

@tosh24 Glad you’re feeling better bam you had been anxiety-wise.  How many newborn diapers does one need?  I’m a FTM-to-be and we want to cloth diaper, but we’re thinking we’d start with disposable (or possibly use a service) until the “one size” all in ones fit her (and is 24 enough of those not to do laundry every day??).

@DecemberDoll27 Oh my - your evening sounds truly awful.  I’m glad you’re feeling better and that you’re getting checked out.

    ——-

    How far along?

    25w3d

    Appts this coming week?

Nope - but starting classes this week - quite early, but I figured I’ll only be less comfortable and have less energy next month, plus we had scheduling conflicts with a couple of the ones next month.  Just hope we don’t forget everything!

    How're you feeling this week?

So far, so good.  I think I generally have more energy and feel fine (still comfortable, not too big), but then I went to ballet (a woman who’s due at the end of the month was in class!  I hope I can do that...) and tap, didn’t nap, the DH and I went to a party Saturday night and the night I slept for 4 hours Sunday afternoon.  Knock on wood - I’ve still only experienced a few instances each of leg cramps and heartburn.

Rants/Raves:  Patting myself on the back for finally clearing out baby’s room & closet and shampooing the carpet in there last weekend.  We were supposed to go look at our friends’ used baby furniture this past weekend but it got postponed to this coming.  Again a little early, but I’m afraid I’ll instantly fall back asleep and be useless when I reach T3.  Makes it all feel a little more real though.

GTKY:  I saw this on T1 and thought it was a good one - what have you been craving?

Tacos!  But that’s not anything unusual for me...

  • @mayflower513- hope your A/S went well! Tell us all about it :)

@tosh24- there is just always something to worry about i think! I keep waiting to feel movement, but then I know I will just worry if I don't feel it for a bit. TMI- but last night was the first time that DH and I had some "fun" in 16 weeks, and i was so nervous after I had to use the doppler! Babys HB seemed pretty fast- maybe they were nervous haha.

@decemberdoll27- so sorry to hear about the sickness! Sounds truly awful and scary. Glad they are checking on you! Let us know!

@artemis618- good for you for ballet and tap! I should be working out now that my SCH is gone, but I am just too scared. I know its healthier though to do something. I hope your energy continues!

How far along? I will be 17 weeks on Wed.

Appts this coming week? Nothing now until 10/5 for the A/S! This four week stretch will be my longest yet. Hope I don't go crazy!

How're you feeling this week? I'm feeling some better and starting to think about maternity clothes. My regular work dress pants (stretchy still, no button) fit just fine in the morning but are kinda tight by the end of the day. I think I just don't want to spend money and also nervous to buy things now that won't fit in the third tri...

    Rants/Raves: hmm nothing too much!

GTKY:  I saw this on T1 and thought it was a good one - what have you been craving? I can't say i have been craving much... just hungry all the time. But I have been using pregnancy as an excuse to eat more sweets and ice cream, though I know I shouldn't! So far I have only gained ~5 total pounds since pre pregnancy since I lost 4 lbs in the first 9 weeks of being pregnant. But gaining 9 lbs in like 6 weeks probably isn't the best for me....

  • Thank you everyone for kind words! Went to my OB clinic today and everything is good. Uterus was nice and relaxed and baby was kicking at the monitor for the entire time. This little guy does not like anything on my stomach!
Talked to the nurse and the lesson of the day is : keep calm and drink lots of water. I stopped having BH when I drank around 48 oz of water in about 90 min. I guess I was really dehydrated! They were nice to me there even though I felt like drama queen. Ohh well, better safe than sorry. Plus my RE recommended this clinic because they are used to us PGAIF crazy girls.

  • Thank you @DecemberDoll27

I ended up having excruciating pain that basically started in my lower belly and radiated to my right backside and came up the belly for a few hours after I got home.  So bad that I called the doctor on call at my OB and was in tears when she called me back.  She said that with just having the ultrasound and things looking ok that it was unlikely (but not impossible) that it was a problem with the pregnancy. She said I could go to the ER to be examined since I was in so much pain... we agreed that I would take Tylenol and gas x and if it didn’t improve or got worse that I’d go in.  I ended up taking gas x, Zantac,  Tylenol and a bath.  The pain slowly got better.  No idea what it was — I do still have ovarian cysts and she was really pushing on things to get a view of my right ovary and baby since he wasn’t in a great position to see what she needed, so I think maybe she just aggravated the cysts?  It was scary.  I have a high pain tolerance and never even called my OB even when in pain with my ectopic so I know I wasn’t just overreacting.  Hopefully it doesn’t come back before my appt Thursday so I can ask my OB about it.

AFM... I can’t believe in 2 days I’ll make it to the third trimester! All this seems soooo surreal! I wish you all easy time until the third trimester! And hope to see you all over there soon!

    Appts this coming week?

I have a scan on Friday  I think it is mostly to measure baby growth due to the GD

    How're you feeling this week?

Feeling good. GD is more difficult to manage now but other than that, I really can’t complain

    Rants/Raves:

Not really a rant or a rave, but over the weekend I had full day birth class and infant cpr class  the birth class made me think more seriously about hiring a doula

GTKY:  I saw this on T1 and thought it was a good one - what have you been craving?

  • @artemis618 I think the general rule is 24-36 newborn cloth diapers, depending on how often you want to do laundry. If you figure about 12 diapers a day, you'd probably need 36 to only do laundry every other day. I bought about 30 prefolds with DS and then half a dozen all-in-ones (so basically used just like a disposable but made of cloth) but he ended up being small (6lbs at birth and then 5 lbs and change once we brought him home) and even the newborn prefolds were massive on him so I didn't end up using them. I just went back and forth between disposables and cloth, since I only had about 6 cloth newborn diapers (and was too preoccupied at the time to order more). 0-3 months I probably did diaper laundry every day but as he got older and used less diapers, I moved to every other day. I don't know if the December board has a cloth/diapering thread, but if you check out the January board, we have a thread called "The Great Cloth Diaper Thread" and there is lots of helpful info in there (it's probably a few pages back right now)!

@JamieH2000 I'm also nervous to do too much. DH and I also didn't have any "fun" until about 16 weeks and then it's only been a few times since then. I feel bad for him but he is so understanding about it. I'm OK while we're together, but then afterward my anxiety starts with every twinge. I also wish I had the confidence to be a little more physically active right now, but again, darn anxiety! DH and I have started taking some walks after dinner now that the weather has cooled down a bit and it does feel nice to get out and at least do something low impact.

@DecemberDoll27 Glad everything looked good and it was just a bit of dehydration!

@mayflower513 Glad you are feeling better but sorry you had to go through that. I can imagine how nerve wracking that would have been. Those feet are SOOOOO cute!

  • @decemberdoll27- so glad everything is ok! Its crazy how drinking water can help so much! I feel like I am constantly drinking already, but still thirsty and peeing all the time! I wonder how much worse it can get!

@mayflower513- that feet pic is SO cute!! Yes coming off pelvic rest was so scary, but i'm happy to report i had no issues after- no spotting or anything. I doubt we will do the deed all that often, buts nice to connect and I know it will be at least 6 week break after and then hard to find the time when we will both be sleep deprived, so trying to enjoy a little fun before baby.

@tosh24- going for walks is always great in fall! I am up in WI and im sad that sunset is already close to 7pm! Hardly have time for a walk when we get home around 6. Daylight savings time isn't far off and i hate it- its dark before 5pm then! At least there is something to look forward to with babies this winter :)

@prudence9-2- wow almost third tri! Glad you liked the classes, and I think in your situation, I would definitely get a doula!

@JamieH2000 yeah, I’m seriously considering a doula. My mom plans to be here for birth. But since she lives abroad she might not make it here on time if baby is early. Also, might be useful to have a doula even if my mom is here.

  • Hello ladies,

I was on a mini babymoon and just came back last night. We went to San Francisco and Sonoma County and I really enjoyed it. Although the hot weather in Sonoma really took a toll on me. I need to recover from my trip this weekend lol. I realize this is my last week with you ladies before I move to the 3rd tri, but we'll talk soon enough when you all move there.

    How far along? 27w

    Appts this coming week? none

How're you feeling this week? Hip pain is getting better so I guess combination of chripoctor and pelvic floor physical therapist is working. Last nigth I woke up at 4 am screeming. Guess what! my mischiveous boy is now head down (i think) and trying to dig out of my uterus with his tiny (but very claw like lol) hands. My cervix must be bruised since he keeps doing it. It's painful and makes me make noises (here at work)  :D

Rants/Raves: I couldnt do my glucose testing last week bc the lab was closed. They didnt even bothered to tell me the fact when I called them. Since I dont want to drink the glucola drink I'm stuck with this place. I was so pissed (mostly bc I have to drive a lot get there). I'm going back tomorrow so hopefully they'll be open.

GTKY:  I saw this on T1 and thought it was a good one - what have you been craving? I dont crave much except something I cant eat : Sushi :)

  • @Ilky
I always wanted sushi and so I started buying the ones with the fake crab meat (cooked white fish) and veggies or cream cheese. As long as it's from a reputable source, sushi that's fully cooked should be a-okay -- but as always, check with your OB first!
~~ Our Story in Spoiler! TW loss/child~~

    Fall 2016 - Spring 2017 -- Break from TTC

  • How far along? 16w6d  (MFM changed my due date to Feb 22)

Appts this coming week? I had an MFM Appt yesterday and they did a 16w AS. Everything was perfect! Cervix is long and closed, fluid is good, placenta is good, baby is perfect <3 I will go every 2 weeks through 23 weeks, and then we'll reevaluate. Next appt is next week with OB

How're you feeling this week? Aside from this sinus infection hanging on, I'm feeling good.

Rants/Raves: Not pregnancy related, but we have 2 dogs that are our babies. This past weekend, our younger dog, Wyatt (5) got really sick. Labored breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, shaking, unfocused eyes, not eat or drinking etc. He ended up spending 2 nights in the hospital and they were never able to figure out what was causing it. Thankfully he's almost back to his normal self now, but I'm anxious not knowing what caused it.  It doesn't seem to be contagious, as our other dog hasn't gotten it. Just wishing I had answers!

GTKY:  I saw this on T1 and thought it was a good one - what have you been craving? The smell of coffee? I've never been a big coffee drinker, but the smell of it is soooo enticing right now!

@mayflower513 congrats on a great AS! what a cutie!!

@JamieH2000 I say just go for some maternity pants lol I got a few pair back at 13 weeks, because I am showing a lot sooner this time. it was the best decision I've made! Honestly, target has the best jeans I've found so far and JC Penney has the best work pants.

@prudence9-2 Ahhh! Congrats on 3rd tri today! :) Hope your scan tomorrow goes well!

@artemis618 Hopefully starting classes this week hasn't been too draining for you. I don't think it's too early for the nursery, get it done while you still have the energy!

@Ilky so glad to hear your hip pain is getting better! Sushi actually sounds really good right now...lol

  • How far along?  19 weeks 6 days

Appts this coming week? I'm having my 20 week ultrasound during week 21.

How're you feeling this week? My feet and legs are getting tired. I'm a teacher, so I'm always on my feet  When I get home, I have to catch my breath if I go up stairs. Last weekend I had a lot hip issues. Every once if a while I would be in a certain position too long and I could barely walk when I got up until I stretched. I'm starting to feel big. My students even told me that I got bigger. :)

    Rants/Raves:

I found someone to help us with our toddler. He really liked her. I actually love the stage he's in (20 months today!) He's learning so much every day. I'm trying to  teach him about babies so he has some idea of what is going on.

GTKY:  what have you been craving? I like food in general. I'm not sure if there's anything  specific. ,

I haven't been  to the keys since last year's hurricane -- I'm assuming everything got rebuilt nicely? I remember they were shut off from the mainland for awhile due to damage to the roads and other structures. Which one(s) are you visiting? Also, eat some Key Lime pie for me!

  • @mbradfo2- I am not sure its fully rebuilt, but it sounded like they were fully open for business! We are flying to Miami and driving down all of them and staying in marathon, so right in the middle. Definitely planning to get to Key WEst for some key lime pie! Any other things I should be sure to not miss while I am there?

You might want to check to see if the Key deer preserve reopened -- it's a nice little hike and the deer are really cute! And when you're driving down,  you should cross the mile long bridge which is always cool. Islamorado is a popular place to stop for lunch or snacks on the trek down to Key West.

And you'll be super safe on all the bridges -- I was part of the consulting team for all of their repairs

  • @prudence9-2 we've been to SF many times before, and each time I tell my husband that we could totally live there. We love SF! The weather was gorgeous too, better than southern California where we live! Just the food scene is worth the move! lol

@JamieH2000 yes, I was/still am so tired. What really gets me is the heat! I cant take heat (at anytime) it makes me exhausted. I hope the weather in FL will be gorgeous in November and you get to enjoy your time.
  • @Ilky right, weather is nice this time a year. That’s our summer. July-August is terrible here. Foggy, cold, windy...
and yeah, food in SF is amazing! Of course I can’t enjoy it now because of GD. But in few months  :)

AFM... scan today went well. Baby is measuring 3 days ahead. It was nice to see him and get some photos as he looks like a baby now  <3 they want me to come back for another scan in 4 weeks.
