Symptoms? Feeling really good although getting bigger faster (STM)....no hiding baby anymore. Waking up often during the night because I can't get comfortable already.
Upcoming appointments? Friday afternoon, for a regular OB check up.
R/R/Q: We got our bill for the ultrasound and a little annoyed insurance isn't covering all of it. They are covering most of it but we still have to pay almost $300. I didn't have anything special done and it was my first (and hopefully only!) ultrasound. I was lucky when pregnant with DD as I had great insurance through my work and everything was covered except some bills for the birth. Thankfully my DH has an HSA set up for us to use. How is everyone else's insurance coverage?
GTKY: What is your favorite piece of maternity clothing right now? I just pulled out a long sleeve gray shirt that is super comfy. I also got a really comfortable pair of jeans from Old Navy this past weekend. I borrowed a lot of clothes my first pregnancy so have to buy some pieces this time around.
Symptoms? I had something in mind the other day but now I can't remember, lol. I've been having rlp constantly and I think I had a couple Braxton hicks contractions over the weekend.
Upcoming appointments? Next Monday, just a routine appt.
R/R/Q: I ordered some wall decor from Pottery Barn Kids a few weeks ago and I just got an email that it's not expected to ship until November! I'm glad I'm trying to get everything done asap because I would hate to be waiting on some decor to finish the nursery.
GTKY: What is your favorite piece of maternity clothing right now? These Old Navy leggings I got last week, they're perfect for everyday wear and now I'm debating ordering a couple more pairs.
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt I'm with you on not hiding the baby anymore. We have some very nosy neighbors and I've been able to kind of suck in my stomach and not have it be noticeable when I'm walking the dog. I feel like my stomach popped overnight!
@jgil85 I saw you posted about those leggings and I might have to get a pair! I borrowed leggings from a friend last time and they were perfect.
We were on a walk the other week and found out that our neighbors across the street are expecting #2 in February. Fun to have lots of kids in the neighborhood!
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt I don’t have insurance. The cost this year was $2700 a month with a $5000 per person deductible and a $10,800 per family. That is more than I’ll pay out of pocket with the hospital discounts.
Symptoms? I swear I’m leaking fluid. It happened with my last around this time. It’s not all the time, but today I felt a gush. I had to wear a pad, and now it’s stopped. Last time I mentioned it, the nurse told me I peed myself. I’m not an idiot. There is a definite difference between the feeling of peeing, and the feeling of something coming out of your vagina. It makes me so angry that they want you to tell them what’s going on and then they completely disregard it and treat you like an idiot. When I went into L&D after my water broke, the nurses kept telling me I probably peed myself and I didn’t know what I was talking about. The lady doing that amniotic fluid test was drenched by the time she was done collecting her sample. I honestly don’t even want to mention it this time.
Upcoming appointments? Thursday
R/R/Q: I drive for work. I sit in a truck for 8-9 hours, every night. I’m getting to point where I can’t even walk when I’m done. Today was so bad that even laying down was extremely painful. The H wants me to work until Thanksgiving and I just don’t think I can.
GTKY: What is your favorite piece of maternity clothing right now? I don’t have any. I just wear bigger jeans or sweats and men’s shirts.
Symptoms? My hips hurt! Tired and cranky. My belly hurts too. RLP if I move too fast or get up the wrong way. Sciatic pain. It's just a blast over here.
Upcoming appointments? I honestly don't even know...I have so many more than I expected. @UnbreakableKimmySchmidt my insurance is terrible. I've already spent the $1000 from my HSA and have more bills I haven't even opened. I have to get blood drawn every 4 weeks, that's about $150 each time. I've had just a couple regular OB appts. 3 ultrasounds, which were about 200 each. I thought I was done with those but I still have 2 more! Then my OB said I would have to do weekly scans at the hospital once I hit 34 weeks. I also need to schedule an appointment with the prenatal cardiologist. My bank account hates me! I'll hit my OOP max for sure, just in time for it to reset before baby is born.
R/R/Q: rant above. LOL. My DD2 will be 2 on the 23rd and I can't get over it. She makes us all laugh none stop. She's the happiest little thing and I'm so lucky. DD1 just started 4th grade and is maturing so much. Life is crazy y'all.
GTKY: What is your favorite piece of maternity clothing right now?
I have a Jessica Simpson blue top with a cross cross in the back. It's cute and comfy. It shows off my belly nicely.
A little bit of sciatic pain on an off, little bit of insomnia on and off, lots of kicks, overall feeling shockingly good!
Upcoming appointments?
1/20 - A normal appointment, plus a continuation of our A/S because they couldn't see her face at the first one. Looking forward to seeing her again!
R/R/Q:
Not much this week! Shocking! I am excited because we started the interviews to pick a Doula, and we signed up for Bradly birth classes, as well as the classes through the hospital for birth/baby care, infant first aid and CPR, breastfeeding, and the hospital tour!
GTKY: What is your favorite piece of maternity clothing right now?
I have a pair of yoga pants I got from Target (Ingred & Isabel) that I LOVE (the ones from Old Navy I got last night that were mentioned on another thread are very similar and also great) and a workout shirt I just got last night that's super cute. I also got some cute long sleeve t-shirts at Motherhood Maternity that I have been loving.
Symptoms? Bloating, full really fast, tired, peeing a ton, strong appetite, SI joint pain
Upcoming appointments? Sept 26th I have an ultrasound for 24 weeks, then Sept 28 I have my 24 week OB appointment
R/R/Q: Toddler has been excessively clingy, which has been tough with the back pain. She wants to be held, and she wants to be held while I'm standing as if there's a difference. I feel like I can't get enough sleep. I'm also coming down with something...and I hope it's just a cold.
Rave: Nesting feels like it kicked in early, which is GOOD because there's a lot to do to be able to begin prepping for the nursery and I know I can't sustain this motivation for long. I'll take it while it's here! I'm getting several steps and stairs in on my fitbit with all the going up and down a few flights of stairs from my upper level to my basement moving things to storage
GTKY: What is your favorite piece of maternity clothing right now? sweatpants, tank tops, loose tops. Unfortunately i can't wear those to work, but around the house I LIVE in them.
Symptoms: hip pain, RLP, constant peeing. This child is already banging against my cervix and having hiccups.
Next appt: 09/27 for a scan because A. Kid wouldn’t cooperate for all of the AS pics they need, and B. Low-lying placenta (fingers and toes crossed that it’s moved already).
Rant: Stuck in a rental, and it’s an SUV, and I can’t adhere to my 20lb lifting restriction because my toddler isn’t tall enough to get in and out alone. Rave: Run Fast, Cook Fast, Eat Slow cookbook is feeding my belly SO WELL. Question: Anyone else’s first child very insistent that their baby sibling is actually in their belly?
Maternity clothes: I bought some maternity leggings at ALDI, and I primarily wear those when I’m not at work. At work, same pair of worn out maternity skinny jeans that I bought from a lady on Craigslist for my first pregnancy. Haha I’ve ordered a Large lab coat because I’m barely managing in a medium now. 😬
