April 2019 Moms

EDD off by 3 weeks?

Hi April Mamas!

By my calculations, (DoC and LM) my due date is roughly April 6th, so am right around 9wk5days

Had my first US today, and was told I'm measuring at 7wks.

The doctor had no concerns, strong heartbeat - everything looked great, but her calculations don't match up to anything on my end! (I'm the type to track EVERYTHING!)

Has anyone else ran into this?

She set a follow-up date a week from today to check back, but I was looking forward to hitting that 10th week, putting my mind more at ease, and hopefully moving out of this morning-sickness phase a bit. I feel like I've been demoted back 3 weeks!

Am I alone?!

Re: EDD off by 3 weeks?

  • Happened to me by 2 weeks! Has happened in all 3 of my pregnancies so far. It is so frustrating to go backwards in time! Hang in there!
  • Loading the player...
  • Same! Went in thinking I was 9 weeks turns out I was 6+3 weeks. Healthy heartbeat and Dr wasn't concerned at all. They said I probably ovulated later in the month.
  • This happened to me too. Only by one week though... my question is, is the ultrasound really more accurate than my calculations? I was closely tracking cervical mucus and other ovulation signs and have recorded all our attempts to conceive and my cycle is very regular... oh well, I’m hoping maybe I’ll end up going “early” this time ha
  • Happened to me, too; thought I was going in at 6+4 and the baby was too small to measure; took a week to get to 5+5.  It was a major psychological blow (2 more weeks!), and it's hard not to worry something is wrong!

I also track my cycle really carefully, but it has been a bit off since a D&C I had in April. I think I had to have that PLUS late ovulation to get my new EDD of May 2, YUCK.

My doctor was totally unruffled, though, so I think that fortunately it's just us!
