Re: Wtf Wednesday 9/5

  • I can't believe no one commented on this thread yet! lol.

I'm pissy at Motherhood Maternity. I ordered something online during a 40% online sale. I logged into my account to do it, so it has all my info stored (name, address, my set store, etc.). I stupidly didn't check the details and after I ordered, my receipt showed my items being sent to a store 30 minutes away instead of my set preferred store FOUR minutes away.

I contacted them immediately (within two minutes of placing the order) to be told there's nothing they can do to switch the delivery location or cancel the order. Are you kidding? Amazon does this shit every minute of every day. The best they could do is wait the 5-10 days for it to be delivered to the farther store, refund me then, and I can place my order again and wait another 5-10 days for it to be delivered to my set store. Ummm pass. I know those items aren't going to be on sale or in stock after 10-20 days.

So I sucked it up and drove to the store a half hour away last night after work when I got the email that my order was ready for pick up. I did some shopping while the saleswoman was looking for my order. After a while, we realized despite me ordering it with my account, it wasn't under my name, it was under "Non Ispu." Roll my eyes. What the hell is wrong with their online ordering?? So I gathered my additional items and went up front and asked her to help tell me which items I chose that were BOGO or on sale so I could put some back and pick up others that matched the sales, and she couldn't. She had no idea, so I know I missed out on some savings because I was already there for an hour and didn't feel like wandering back around the store and seeing what the signs said.

So I freaking spent $265 which should have given me two coupons of $50 Bump Bucks (one for every $125 you spend). But of course, it doesn't include tax and pre-tax, I spent $248.50 so I only got one $50 Bump Bucks. What a bunch of bullshit. And there were people behind me so I didn't want to hold up the line to go find another item to put me over the $250 (and i was pissy and didn't want to give them any more money haha). The unhelpful saleslady then gave me a sealed bag with my online order. I should have opened it right then but there were several people waiting behind me and I really was just ready to go home at that point.

Got home... only half my online order was in the sealed bag. So I called and told her that and she was like, "Oh yeah, there was a note for me that your other item is coming separately."  Which she didn't tell me while I was there. I told her my pick up email stated both items were in and how was I going to know when the other one came in if my email says I should have gotten both today? And she absentmindedly said "We'll call you."  I said, "Ok... do you want my name and phone number?" and she paused and said, "umm yeah, that would be good."  I am not getting screwed out of items I paid for. I kept the bag and packing list she gave me that showed only 1 item was delivered and kept my email that said both items were ready so I can battle for the rest of my clothes. This should not be this hard. Get it together, Motherhood Maternity.

I can't believe what a rant this turned into hahaha.

  • @sarahzett that’s ridiculous! I’ve had issues with their costumer service in the past too.
  • @cdepperschmidt it was frustrating. At least I got some new clothes lol

  • @sarahzett I know it is too late but could you have ordered online to ship to your right store and then cancel the other order when it got to the store? Still get the sale and not have to drive?
I have gotten emails saying buy from motherhood get rewards for your purchases. I have spent a good amount of money there and NEVER gotten any rewards and I do look at my emails  Nothing!!
  • @sarahzett that sucks. I would have just said forget it at that point but good for you for being paitient. I find that wearing stuff I picked out myself and bought new makes me feel so much more like myself, even though I’m so grateful for all my handmedown maternity clothes.

I also have an online shopping related woe. I found a great deal on some stuff from Hudson’s Bay so I ordered some baby clothes for next spring/summer because it’s end of season. I got this adorable Lucky brand jeans and shirt outfit for six bucks! It’s so the style that my husband and I like and it was a great deal. In the first shipment they sent an equally adorable dress that is super cute but obviously won’t be good for our little guy. I called to complain and they sent me the same dress today! So now I have to drive to the store, return the two dresses, and I still don’t have the outfit I ordered twice!

@SweetSweetTooth that probably would have worked! Next time... if I buy from them again after this debacle lmao

and yeah, I’m so sick of their fake ass discounts that don’t add up. Meanwhile my Kohl’s cash gets me tons of free stuff haha #belikeKohls

  • @jenchoo I’m not known for my patience and this is what I get for trying lmao.

That sucks about the dresses! What is it about these orders that the stores can’t get right?!

  • I bought some stuff on clearance from motherhood maternity and while I like most of it, it isn't lasting long! I wore a pair of capris 7-8 times and the crotch is already wearing out.not cool.
  • @jemmerjams omg yes! You hit the nail on the head. They neverrrr have bras in my size and I got upset trying on cute flannel button downs the other day because they never make the bust big enough and none of them fit me. I just get a giant gap between buttons so you can see right in between. I’m large chested but not crazy big. If it’s not a stretchy sweater, I can’t wear it from there. There’s no reason not to offer bigger sizes in a MATERNITY STORE. Ughhh

  • I'm a size 16, finding clothes to fit has sucked. I bought 2 pairs of yoga pants from MM and one already has a hole in the ass. I wish I had just gotten all Old Navy ones, because those ones I love.
  • I take a commuter train to work in the city, 1 hour each way. Today a guy had a cardiac event on my train and it took the ambulance 28 minutes to reach us despite the fact we were pulled into a station stop. That’s so unacceptable, the guy could have died (he didn’t). But this is why I’m working from home in weeks 38 and 39. Fuck that.
  • @HoosOnFirst that's crazy! I dont blame you for wanting to work from home
  • @sammierose464 take it back to the store. I was just in one today saying I wasn't thrilled with the quality of a pair of pants and they said being them in and they can do something even though I didn't buy them from that specific store!

@HoosOnFirst ugh I’m planning to work in the office up to the end, but I am thinking that’s a bad idea to be taking the train that late in the game. I might just work until the end of September then see if I can work from home for the few days of October I may be able to since my train pass won’t be renewed for October. I’m due 10/3 so hopefully they’ll let me do that for a couple of days-a week until I start leave.

My train pass is $300 so I asked to work from home after 10/5 (I’m due the 19th). I’ll pay for a few days only. I totally support you asking as well! Are you on commuter rail or local subway? You can always do an Uber. I live too far out to do that unfortunately.
  • @HoosOnFirst commuter rail for me too. I keep having thoughts of what happens if my water breaks right here and I have to tell this person sitting right next to me to move or get soaked by my puddle lol

With my first kid, my water broke at 615 am and my train is at 8. That was a close enough call for me! Also I never want to be the reason 600 people are late to work, it I can help it.
