Re: Fit mom Friday!

  • So I made it to the gym at our apt 2x this week. Better than once last week! We have been walking a lot since it's been a little cooler some days. I am no longer able to run :( I mean I guess I could do run walk which I did last week but now I am just doing 20 min on the treadmill at 2-4% and weights. It makes me feel so much better mentally when I am done. I am hoping to go again tomorrow.
Is anyone riding a bike outside? I haven't in so long and want to go with the fam but not sure I still can lol. (does belly get in the way?)

I went to my bodystep class on Tuesday after not having gone in a week or two, and it was nice as I didn't push myself too hard. I was going to go again on Thursday but I walked up and down a lot of stairs at work so I took that as my workout (kanye shrug)

I've been meaning to start riding my bike to work again as I feel the best, physically, when I do, but it's been raining, I've been tired, basically I'm just making excuses. And I feel bad about it too since I've been indulging a bit more lately (chocolate and treats  :p). I've been pretty good this whole pregnancy with a balanced diet and continued activity, so to just let that all go in the last 6 weeks would be a shame, womp womp.

ETA: To answer your question I find my belly doesn't get in the way! But my swollen crotch doesn't LOVE it haha @Laumb11

  • I made it to the gym 3x this week! That’s the best I’ve done in weeks so i felt pretty good about it. We also ate healthier this week than we have the past month or so, so overall I feel like I’ve felt pretty good this week. Hoping now that our crazy busy schedules will be slowing down we can get back in to our normal routine.

@Laumb11 I haven’t dared ride my bike this summer outside, mostly because the drivers around here done seem to pay attention and there are no bike trails. But I haven’t found that the belly gets in the way too much when indoor spinning so you would probably be ok. I love riding my bike, I was just telling DH how much I missed it this summer!

  • I arrived a bit late to Zumba class Tuesday and it was clear that someone had thrown up in the previous class (Bodystep coincidentally). It’s the first time I noticed a heightened sense of smell because everyone else seemed fine but I had to leave the room for a bit and move far away.
  • Two runs, a Pilates, and a stretch session this week.
Back to school meetings meant way too much sitting which totally kicked my butt. I honestly didn’t know it was possible to get shin splints from sitting. I went for a run the next day anyway and they went away right after. Bodies are weird.
  • Walking, to the grocery store or just around the neighborhood! Awesome way to clear my mind. Though I do have to stop a lot, not sure if it's round ligament pain or the baby just likes to poke his feet in the same place when I walk each time, lol! Been going almost every day, but today I can't leave the house till my package gets here :/
  • I went to our cardio class at the CrossFit gym today! I'm very surprised I can still make it through the workouts since my endurance has always been crap. Definitely tougher when you are so short of breath though!

Is it weird that this thread always guilts me/encourages me to go work out? Thanks ladies!
  • I'm a little sad, I've had to hang up my running shoes. My pelvis just couldn't take it anymore, and I was getting SPD pain even with the support belt. I'm going to try and do some walking, but even that is taking a toll on my hips and pelvis. I'm thankful I could make it 32 weeks running, but dammit I'm so close I wanted to be finish it out!

  • @eireyes I am with you. I was so depressed yesterday that I can no longer run. I did a run/walk 2 weeks ago and it wasn't bad but only 1.5 miles. :( sad. We will get back at it once our LO's are here! I am 36w today

  • @Laumb11 I have a race on November 18th that I signed up for (I really wanted the swag and to keep my participation streak going) so yep, we'll be back. I may end up walking it, but IDGAF.

  • @jemmerjams Same! There were a few mornings the last few weeks that I told myself I had to go to the gym, even if it was to just walk on the treadmill, so that I had something positive to report to the group!
