27+3, baby is the size of a Fennec Fox (they're pretty cute!)
How are you feeling this week?
Good overall. Awful heartburn from the weekend though. I had too much to eat on Saturday (we harvested the veggies at the family "farm" and had a big meal with all the fresh veggies, so I couldn't help but overeat). Anyway, I now know what people mean by "relfux vomiting"
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
Not baby related, but I picked up a new book last week because I wasn't going to sit through the 1-hour GD test without something to read, and it was amazing! It's the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, for my fellow fantasy lovers. I finished the book in about 4 days and now waiting for Amazon to deliver the rest
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner?
One I love is when we went on a sleigh ride in the winter and picked up Starbucks hot chocolate on our way. Another is when we went whitewater rafting - that was quite an experience!
One most memorable date was strolling through a forested path when a swarm of mosquitoes attacked us. It was funny/annoying because we couldn't run since DH had just blown his MCL/ACL. So we had to suffer the mosquito bites!
How far along are you? How big is baby? 27w2days. He's ginormous.
How are you feeling this week? SuperDeDuper pregnant. Other than that, not to bad! I've I give in and sleep with my wedge pillow, my back and hip don't hurt, but then I feel claustrophobic, so decisions....
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary? DH finished painting the nursery! I'm super excited to start getting things set up in there! That being said, we haven't bought the crib or dresser yet, but that's ok! Also, I'm still taking the stairs at work, so that is huge for me! I quit as soon as I was pregnant last time, lol!
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner? Oh man, this is a hard one. We've been together since 2005, so there have been A LOT of dates! We had a really great date at a restaurant called Season's 52 before we conceived this baby! It was amazing food and drinks and great conversation. We were having a really connected night! The other one I can think of is we went on a 12 mile hike and at burrito's in the car on the hour drive home and it was amazing!
@ab_canada that's the first time you've experienced reflux?! I get it after almost every supper, even when I'm not pregnant!
How far along are you? How big is baby?
27+2. size of a bunch of bananas
How are you feeling this week?
Not too bad. Heart burn is in full force and I'm finding my body aches really bad if I'm on my feet too long.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
It's my last week at my current job and then I'll have 1.5 weeks off before heading to my new one. I'm really looking forward to getting my hair done but I am not looking forward to the GD test.
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner?
Probably our first date. It was right before he was flying home for Christmas and we watched a Christmas Carol and built a gingerbread house. Now we do the same thing every Christmas eve with our family. It's cool that our first date has lead to a tradition!
@kristah2 No, not the first time I had reflux but this was so bad that I actually had to throw up. I went all through this pregnancy without having to throw up - so yey "milestone"?
Also, building a gingerbread house was one of my favourites too! I don't think it was a "date", per say. We were just spending Christmas together. But we have a picture of us with our "house" and I love it. i keep telling him I want to build another but I don't think it was as much fun for him I will just have to wait for the kiddo to grow up a bit to do artsy things
@texas_t That's awesome that the nursery is painted! Ours is too, but we have to wait another full month until the crib comes, so it's just sitting empty for now.. I should seriously look for a chair and a little table.. Re: stairs. Yesterday I became winded just going up the stairs at my house. Mind you, I was carrying a heavy bag, but I was huffing and puffing so much that DH asked me if I was okay
@ab_canada Your mosquito story makes me laugh because on our hiking date, we ran up and down for a good mile to escape swarms of mosquitos!!!! I can't believe y'all just had to walk through them!
@texas_t sure! I just took a job with the federal government (in Canada). Better pay and benefits of course. But I'm taking a week and a half off now because where I'm starting a new job I won't really be able to take a couple weeks off before baby comes so I'm hoping to get some of my to-do list taken care of during my days off!
How far along are you? How big is baby? 27 + 1, big? lol
How are you feeling this week? Large and in charge, tired
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary? I know I say it every single time, but I need to clean out the officeeeeeee and making it a nursery lol
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner? Uh, this is a tough one. We don't really do many dates. We did go to dinner for my birthday this past January, which was our first date after DD was born. We're so lame compared to everyone lol
@Jens_Hoes How long have you been together? I feel we are pretty lame, too. The only reason we've had many memorable dates is because for the first 5 years of our relationship we lived in different cities, so we made sure to plan something and go somewhere for dates. Now that we've been living together for 5+ years, we don't do as much. But we really enjoyed the "planned" things and still do that every once in a while. I also make sure to toast to our "date" any time we go out for dinner with just the two of us I think it's nice to be reminded that going out on a date can happen even when you're married.
@ab_canada 8 years this Halloween, married 4 years next may. the only really memorable thing is the way he proposed, and I didn't know if that counted lol
Pretty good despite still being stuck in the hospital. Lots of movement which is always comforting.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
Not really. It's been relatively calm which is nice. Despite the seemingly constant IV changes. Just waiting on next week when I get to be reassessed and potentially get to go home.
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner?
I would say pretty much the entire first 9 months we started dating were just lovely. We were both still in our Master's program and living in Lexington, just a 10 minute bike ride or <5 minute drive away from each other. We had pretty much no responsibilities other than school, and we could do whatever we wanted on the weekends, as long as it was cheap since we were poor grad students. We made dinner together all the time, and went out to eat when we could afford it. We went hiking in the various state parks in central KY and canoeing in the Kentucky River all the time. I would go down to UK's research forest, where H's field work for his thesis was based, and help him collect salamanders (lol) for a day or two. We generally just spent every minute we possibly could together for 9 months. We were also in that just-started-dating phase where we still made each other a little nervous (in a good way) which made the whole 9 months just kind of dreamy. It was awesome.
How far along are you? How big is baby? 27+1. Baby is the size of cauliflower.
How are you feeling? I traveled this weekend so my ankles are a bit swollen and I had a lot of back pain and what I think was RLP. I was also constipated all weekend long. Now that I'm home, everything has calmed down. I think baby is somersaulting in there, which feels both weird and slightly painful.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary? Nothing really at the moment. I feel like I really need to start taking tons more photos of my bump to document the last 13 weeks of this pregnancy. Oh, also, had a lovely babymoon/family trip this weekend. It was much needed.
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner? I have several. We haven't been on as many dates lately, but there have been some good ones in our 5 years together. We went to a Brazilian steakhouse for his birthday one year and talked for 4 hours. That was really good for us. We celebrated our 1 year dating anniversary at one of those go kart, mini golf, arcade places. I took him to a clock museum once that he loved. Umm...I have others, but I can't recall at the moment.
Why does TB no longer copy & paste the bolded parts? Grrrr
How far along are you? How big is baby?
27+5, plate of pancakes.. which is large enough to feel it kick under my right ribs & also tickle my bladder at the same time. It literally feels like someone is tickling me from the inside down south.
How are you feeling this week?
Good so far. Feeling like I want to eat everything in sight & then I feel like crap after I stuff my face with processed sugar. Yuck.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
My current boss is retiring as of 8/31, but is still here because they haven't announced a replacement (they only had a 2 year notice..). I just got wind of a meeting at 2 tomorrow for big news. I hope it's a good change!
Also, DH and I decided on a mower that we want! We've been riding the gravy train of using his parents mower for three years, so we figure it's time to get our own. Now the hard part is to wait until spring since it doesn't make any sense to have it sitting in our garage over the winter.
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner?
A couple stick out - our first date was fun. We went to a fancy winery type of place & I'm the weirdo who ordered a mushroom sandwich and a glass of red wine. It was great conversation & he opened my doors for me & we watched the sunset. I knew it'd be serious at that point.
Our honeymoon - we stuffed our faces with lobster penne and endless rum punches, beer & margaritas. All the while we were by the ocean & did whatever we wanted for a week. Ahhhh, to be able to go back for a day.
A random time we decided to go get a hotel room in a town 50 miles from home. We went shopping and then sat at a sports bar playing keno & watching football while ordering random food for like 4 hours. After that, we grabbed some more beer & headed to our hotel where we watched a Broncos football game from our hot tub & had great sex. After that, we played mini golf on a course they have & we were all alone. It was so fun and romantic!
@texas_t lol! well, we feel silly that we are all excited and set on what we want, but then realized how stupid it is to buy one & let 6 months of warranty go by while it sits in the garage over the Nebraska snowy winter
@ab_canada A sleigh ride sounds so romantic! (especially w/Starbucks!) @texas_t How fun to have the nursery painted!! What color did you go with? @kristah2 Your movie and gingerbread house sounds like an awesome tradition! Totally jealous! @binxybaby I'm glad you enjoyed your babymoon and that things calmed down once you got home with all your symptoms! @temmetime GL at your meeting tomorrow - hopefully you get good news!
How far along are you? How big is baby?
27 + 3! Head of lettuce, I guess? (which doesn't seem any different from a head of cauliflower or a bunch of kale, but whatever!)
How are you feeling this week?
Still doing good except for the knot in my left calf (see symptoms thread for more details).
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
I had my glucose screening last Friday. I had it done at an outside lab b/c of insurance, so my OB should have received the results by today. What's somewhat frustrating is that they only call you if you failed the test. I didn't hear anything today, so maybe I passed? Though they could still call tomorrow. I'm wondering if I should just call them to see how it went so I don't drive myself crazy! What kind of policy is that? I feel like they should call either way...
GTKY: What was your favorite/most memorable date with your partner?
This past year for our anniversary we went skiing for the first time! We spent the night at a ski lodge, which was gorgeous, and then took some skiing lessons. We both had fun and fell plenty of times! It was so nice to be able to try something new together and to be able to cuddle to warm ourselves back up afterwards!

@texas_t I know right ... literally a month ago DH was like we should get a puppy. I’m like a puppy and a newborn? You’re insane!! At least kids wear diapers and can’t ninja out of their cribs when they’re still little!!
