Newborn questions

I figured it would be a good idea to have a separate thread for newborn questions.

My question: my son has this vibrating thing he does when nursing. At first it was just his mouth doing it, but now her gets his whole head involved. Anyone know what is going on? I know the tongue flicking is just tired or lazy nursing. But the head thing is different. I'm going to ask the lactation consultant next time I see her, just wondering if anyone has experience with this?

So I don't remember head vibrating specifically, but they do have jittery, twitchy muscle movements at the beginning because their nervous system just isn't fully developed yet. I mostly remember the jaw and facial muscles spasming, kinda looked like chattering teeth sometimes. Does that sound like what you're seeing?
