Hey hey! Welcome to the PGAL (Pregnant after loss) weekly thread!
**This is a general trigger warning that CP, miscarriage/spontaneous abortion, selective abortion due to medical complications, and/or stillbirth may be mentioned. There is no need to add specific trigger warnings in your posts, but you may if you choose.**
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
4. Any appointment updates?
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!)
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 22+2, so well past my milestone!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I’m tired and my scaitica bothers me if I don’t wear gym shoes
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I’m feeling pretty good. I’m actually believing that we will have a new baby in 4 months! Thoughts of stillbirth still creep in, but my hospital and NICU has had positive outcomes for babies born at 23 weeks, so I’m trying to focus on that.
4. Any appointment updates? I got the results of the cell free DNA test back and everything looked great! So, hopefully the urinary tract dilation resolves itself, but if not, it looks like there is not a chromosome issue causing it.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Now that summer is winding down, I am officially starting to feel like a stay at home mom. I have made plans to meet up with two different play groups this week, so hopefully that will be a good experience for both my son and me.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) Baby movement! I love feeling him or her swimming around!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 26 weeks 3 days
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I had a rough week last week, but doing better this week! I think I have the beginnings of SPD, but I'm trying to push through since there really isn't anything that can be done about it.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Doing well! Owen moves a lot and that helps tremendously.
4. Any appointment updates? Nope! Don't have my next one for a couple of weeks!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Keeping up with working out 3 day a week and tracking my food is my main focus right now. I've said this multiple times, but I gain a lot of weight last pregnancy from 20 weeks on and I don't want a repeat. So far so good.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) I love getting to know my baby before they he gets here! I can anticipate movement and I just enjoy the closeness of having him right here with me.
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24w3d. No more milestones!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I’m feeling large! Just generally having more trouble getting around, bending over, etc., but I’m making it work.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I feel very good at this point.
4. Any appointment updates? Not for another couple of weeks.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): A photographer came and took pictures of our house today so once we get those back we will officially be listed for sale. Omg.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!)
I love the kicks! That’s the one thing I will be sad about leaving behind with my pregnancy days.
@katy0990 Horray for great news from your dna test!
@katy0990 I'm glad your test results came back clear! Sounds like you have a lot of positive things to look forward to.
@texas_t Sorry it sounds like you're beginning to get SPD Pregnancy pelvic pain is no joke. Good job at continuing to work out.
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24+6
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Just tired, mostly. My pelvic pain has let us a lot since last week, which is kind of ironic since I have my first PT appointment this evening. Hopefully I can at least learn some stretches/exercises to use if it flares up again.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Pregnancy anxiety is currently pretty mild. I just find other things to stress about. It's one of my many talents.
4. Any appointment updates? Nope, but I have a quick OB appointment on Friday. I just need to remember to ask about hospital registration, and getting my TDAP and flu shots at my following appointment on 9/21.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Work is insane. We have hired 4(!!) new people in the last month. It's a big deal for us, since we are a small team (~10 people), but we are getting so busy, we need the extra help. Also, I signed up for a 4 week childbirth class that goes mid October-mid November, and a 2 week newborn care class that starts at the beginning of October. Shit's getting real!
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) I also love the wiggles, but my favorite thing is the unknown. I'm one of those people that always has to have something to look forward to. Right now I'm thriving off the excitement of expanding our family, and seeing how it's going to challenge us and change us. I can't wait to meet our little girl and see what she is like.
@katy0990 yay for good test results! Hopefully things are relatively smooth from here on out. @texas_t (it) dang girl, working out 3 days a week is impressive. It's been so hot here i don't even want to walk outside. @rosebud332 yay for house listing! Hopefully it goes quickly and easily The pics are so fun. @hollyyyyy Ahhhhh i'm gonna sign up for our classes soon too! It does feel VERY real!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24+6 feeling great to be over the first viability hump!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Feeling pretty good. Trying to be patient with my physical limitations. Sore when I wake up, but I can't really complain.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Good, heart LO's Hb on monday and feel them all the time so it's super helpful. Definitely feels like we're going to get a baby.
4. Any appointment updates? Nah, everything was fine on monday and I don't have anything else till my 28 week. Then we start every 2 weeks though, it's crazy!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Oh man, our semester started on monday (i work at a university). I forgot how many people are around when it's not summer and how busy the scheduling is. During the summer i can take it easy and get a lot of personal stuff done, but much less so during the academic year. Luckily all my house stuff is pretty much wrapped up so there's not a ton to do.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) The kicks! It's so weird/neat. Also H being especially sweet and trying very hard to make sure i'm ok. Last night i was having a little bit of side pain when I was lying down for bed and he rubbed my back to help me sleep (i'm not sure it really helped, but it was cute).
Happy Wednesday ladies! @katy0990 glad to hear your test results came back great! @texas_t I hope your pain doesn't turn in to SPD! I was having pretty terrible pelvic pain when I walked or stood up for 3 weeks but it's pretty much gone now thankfully, I can't imagine having to deal with that for the rest of the pregnancy. @rosebud332 I hope for a quick and easy sale for you! I'm sure it will be a relief once it's all done. @Hollyyyyy I laughed out loud at your "shit's getting real." Every time we do something baby related my H says that. @morgantu that's great that your H is being so supportive. Mine has been too for the most part but today he's driving me nuts because he's texting me every hour asking if I've drank enough water - he thinks my blood pressure issues (see below) are related to dehydration
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24+2
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Feeling good!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I am happy to feel baby moving around in there at some point every day so that helps but I've realized I'm going to be anxious about something until baby is safely in my arms, and honestly probably after that too! haha
4. Any appointment updates? I had a checkup on Monday. My blood pressure was elevated and this is the second time since I hit 20 weeks so I'm now having to do some extra monitoring in case of gestational hypertension/preeclampsia. I'm doing a 24 hour urine collection today and bloodwork tomorrow and then back to the doctor in a week and a half.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I'm not overly concerned (yet) about my blood pressure because I think it's a bit of white coat syndrome but the 24 hour urine test is SUPER inconvenient especially since I absolutely had to come to work today. Luckily I have a personal fridge in my office but toting my bag back and forth to the bathroom is annoying.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) It's probably watching how my H has reacted to my pregnancy. He was ready for us to have kids before I was so I knew he'd be so excited but it's been even more fun than I expected to watch him talk about the pregnancy and our plans for baby to other people.
@lippy625 What was your BP reading? Last pregnancy my BP was elevated after 20 weeks and they'd make me lay down on my left side and if all was good, I was good to go. I did this all the way up until 38 or so weeks when my doc decided to do the 24 hour urine catch, which still came back normal. He basically said I was so swollen that it caused my blood pressure to rise. Soooo, all that said, I hope yours is nothing like mine was!
@morgantu My husband works at a university and he's been complaining about all the stinky students @Hollyyyyy The best part about a kid is that they never stay the same, so it's new forever! @rosebud332 Wow! Good luck on listing your house! @katy0990 Congratulations on the good report!
@texas_t I’m impressed that you are working out 3 days each week! I need to step it up in that area. @rosebud332 Good luck selling your house! @Hollyyyyy I hope you learn some helpful exercise. @morgantu A back rub sounds so nice! @lippy625 I hope your blood pressure is just white coat syndrome. Fx for good results!
@Hollyyyyy I can’t wait to get my booster shot and flu shot, I’ve been looking forward to that more than I should maybe?
@morgantu D’aww, helping husbands are the best - mine *just* figured out how to rub my shoulders without pinching me
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
25 weeks today, milestones are in the rearview mirror
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Decent! Achy, gassy, constipated - all manageable, just annoying.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
Good! Low anxiety is nice.
4. Any appointment updates?
Yes! I had a regular appointment today after drinking the drink. My blood pressure and weight gain are good. When I bared the tum for the Doppler, LO was all wiggles for the medical assistant, I love that he's visible under the right conditions (sugar high + bared tum). I'm getting better at peeing in cups!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Just getting ready for the weekend! We have two sets of friends getting married this weekend, we RSVP'd for the one that's farther (seven hour drive), and just found out that some friends are flying in from Japan for the other wedding (five hour drive). So of course we are detouring for lunch with the long distance friends on our way to the other wedding. Also DH just changed our hotel reservations again (third reservation now ) because we heard about a hotel pool party, so now I need to find my swim bits or buy some tomorrow. Hope everybody is ready for me in a bikini - I hope the weight displacement improves my back aches, FX.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) #1 Favorite thing - not TTC, the cyclical heartbreak was painful. #2 Favorite thing - NO PERIODS. #3 Favorite thing - not feeling guilty about not going to the gym / exerting myself.
NTNP since Dec 2012 | TTC since Jan 2016 Dx: Unspecified IF BFP#1 Nov 2017 • Blighted Ovum + MMC • D&C at nine weeks BFP#2 Apr 2018 • It's a boy! • Born 13 Dec 2018
@texas_t Interesting how something as simple as laying down can change it! They didn't have me do that but they did take a second reading before I left which was lower. When they first took it, it was 147/92 and the second time it was 136/90 I think. She had in her chart that it was 142/90 at my 20 week appointment. It really seemed like she was leaning on the overly cautious side in doing these tests so I'm hoping that's the case!
@lippy625 My doc told me with Pre-E, it won't come down even if I lay down, so that was good enough for him until I was in every week and it was still high, that's why he went ahead and did the urine catch. He's very laid back and wait and see, but I feel like he knows his stuff, so I was just happy he didn't put me on bed rest!
@echo-charlietango with my first two pregnancies (one ended in MS the other successful), I got pregnant so quickly I don't even consider it trying. As for this one, TTC was horrible. I hated it.
@morgantu YES to husband's being so extra sweet! Mine has been referring to me/baby as "his girls". I think he just loves saying it. Every time he comes home, the first thing he says is "How are my girls doing?" and it's so freaking cute. Is your GTT at 28 weeks exactly? Mine is scheduled for the 21st- I've been trying to schedule my appointments on Friday's so I can start my weekend early, haha.
@echo-charlietango TBH, I'm excited to get my vaccinations, because it's an easy thing to "check off". Admittedly, I haven't done a whole lot at this point to prepare for this baby, so I'll take all the little wins
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Very itchy, very tired, body aches, reflux, not sleeping well.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Super anxious. Still waiting on my bloodwork results for cholestasis & threat of stillbirth is real
4. Any appointment updates? I go tomorrow for my GD test
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever: Business as usual- kid to school & sports. Trying to distract myself from anxious thoughts.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? -no period -feeling movement -dreaming about what they'll look like. Between hubby/I and our families, they could literally have any eye/skin/hair color, straight or curly hair, and be short or tall.
@katy0990 Mentioned this before, but I'm just so glad the DNA test went well, and I really hope the dilation resolves on its own!
@texas_t Sorry you had a rough week last week, but I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm on the minimize weight gain and stay as healthy as possible train too (except for all the pasta I had last night, whoops!) But today I've been good and am back on my lunch time walks and at home weights!
@rosebud332 Oh man, I am feeling large too! I had to bend down and get something the other day and was like oh, looks like I can't do that gracefully at ALL anymore, haha. Also, yeah for photos of the house and listing it! Woo!
@Hollyyyyy Glad your pelvic pain has let up a little and I hope your PT session gives you useful tips for when it flares up! I also love the unknown aspect of pregnancy - you have no idea what you're going to get, personality or looks wise, and I love the building surprise of that.
@morgantu I can't believe we're about to be at the 2 week appointment stage, once we get to 28! It definitely is starting to feel super real that we're going to get take home babies this time around. So wonderful!
@lippy625 Sorry you're having blood pressure issues and having to be monitored! Hope it calms down soon! Are you dealing with any stress you can reduce? I had some early high blood pressure associated with a terrible job and my readings went down by like, over 20 points the second I moved on.
@echo-charlietango Sounds like you have a very full and fun weekend ahead - enjoy!!
@mommythlegend Just saw your post - so sorry you're feeling so anxious. I really hope your bloodwork comes back good and as soon as possible. Sending hugs.
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 26 weeks and 1 day - well past all milestones, woo!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Feeling okay. I think I say this every week, lol. Symptoms are annoying but manageable. Tums Chewy = my best friend.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Anxiety wise, I'm doing okay. I had a hard day Sunday because I was so busy and active I realized I hadn't felt the baby move and then when I wanted him to move, he barely did. It finally picked up enough to reassure me I didn't need to call my doctor, but I was so worried, it was really upsetting. I just cannot wait until this little one is safely born. Movement since then has been great and consistent, so I think I was just too busy to notice it on Sunday but it was a tough day.
4. Any appointment updates? Nothing until 28 weeks!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Work has been insane, so I haven't had much time to post. I'm feeling GIGANTIC btw. I feel like my bump has grown exponentially in the last couple of weeks.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) Lol, when it's over and I get to have an adorable baby?
@maureenmce I so feel you on the movement thing. It's been a while since I've read it - but I think it's at 28?? weeks that movement becomes more routine/consistent. It's totally normal for it to be more random now. I'm sure you know this already but just for peace of mind.
@Hollyyyyy aww his girls. So adorable! Mine gtt is whenever between now and 28 week appt. They sent me home with the drink So I just have to drink it and go to the lab an hour later. I'll probably try over the weekend
@maureenmce I feel you on the movement! I've had several days like that. Sorry you had a tough day!
Got my bile acid results back. It was 11. My Dr said they consider under 14 fine. I still feel unsure, as some sites on-line say over 10 is Cholestasis. I also read that the itching can start before the bile acid rises & my itching is intensifying. I asked to be re-tested in 2 weeks. If still ok, I already have an appt set with my dermatologist in 3 weeks & I will try to chill!
I'll get my GD results tomorrow. The drink almost made me vomit!
@mommythlegend Um glad you are pushing for more testing too. It’s definitely better to be safe than sorry in this situation so good for you for getting your doc on board.
@maureenmce I assumed it was stress related at first too but things have been pretty calm in my life lately, especially compared to my first trimester. I should be hearing back from my dr today about the 24 hour urine collection results so hopefully all is good! Also, I'm glad you are feeling better movement now after a rough day, that definitely helps ease my mind too!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 23+3, no more milestones 2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? My left ankle keeps popping and is sometimes swollen from it. I think it’s how I stand back up from sitting on the floor (lots of floor sitting for my job). I’m trying to be more conscious of how I’m getting up & down so I don’t really injure myself. It’s also tricky to stay asleep on my side. I think I need more pillows. 3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? A little anxious rn. Just got out of the follow up a/s and the ultrasound tech was pretty quiet. I’m trying not to read anything into that. She looked at the heart for a long time, and the neck twice and looked at the bladder and kidneys again, but didn’t measure them. Baby was still in feet over the head position, so maybe she just still couldn’t get a good look. 4. Any appointment updates? Yep. Waiting to see the midwife now 5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Mostly work, our annual licensing year is this month so it’s been busy with visits from the state licensor, fire marshal, health inspector, etc. Outside of work SO and I are planning a big ikea trip for baby items and also general stuff. We are getting a new bed frame. Ours is an old hand me down and it’s too high (my feet don’t touch the ground when I sit on it). I don’t want to break a leg getting out of bed in 3rd tri. 6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!) ehh, I’m not very connected to my pregnancy, I don’t think. I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. I’ve enjoyed the lack of symptoms, but I just feel the same as usual and it’s weird. I even forgot about my belly the other night! I glanced in the mirror and was like “why is my stomach huge?!” And then remembered, oh yeah, because I’m pregnant. I wish I could say my fav is feeling kicks, but the movement always startles me and is a bit uncomfortable. I guess my favorite part is not having periods.
@tumbleweed-1I'd be anxious too but hopefully, the tech was just feeling surly this morning and everything is looking great!
I guess that’s exactly what it was! Everything with the baby was fine. My blood pressure is pretty low though. It’s usually a bit low, but it was only 98/60 which sounds really low to me
@tumbleweed-1 I had a very similar dip in blood pressure and my OB said it's actually common thing that happens during the middle/end of the second trimester! I did not remember that from last time around so I was worried at first. She said it wasn't a big deal unless I felt faint and that I could have Gatorade and salty food to help me feel better if I felt sluggish. And very glad to hear baby is all good btw!
Got my GD results back & no concerns. Dr. offered to start me on the med Urso to lower my bile acids & hopefully help with the itching. Will also re-test me next week, meaning results will come again in 2 weeks. Not sure if I should take it to be safe without definite diagnosis, but would probably give me piece of mind. It's a class B with no known side effects.
@tumbleweed-1 I am glad everything looked good. if your doctor is not concerned, then I would not worry too much about the blood pressure. That is the range in which my readings typically fall and the only thing my doctor has said to me is that we will have to keep that in mind if it ever goes up, because my threshold for high blood pressure would be lower than the average person.
@mommythlegend Congratulations on the GD results. I hope the meds help!
Re: PGAL check in w/o 8/29
22+2, so well past my milestone!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
I'm not overly concerned (yet) about my blood pressure because I think it's a bit of white coat syndrome but the 24 hour urine test is SUPER inconvenient especially since I absolutely had to come to work today. Luckily I have a personal fridge in my office but toting my bag back and forth to the bathroom is annoying.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!)
It's probably watching how my H has reacted to my pregnancy. He was ready for us to have kids before I was so I knew he'd be so excited but it's been even more fun than I expected to watch him talk about the pregnancy and our plans for baby to other people.

@Hollyyyyy The best part about a kid is that they never stay the same, so it's new forever!
@rosebud332 Wow! Good luck on listing your house!
@katy0990 Congratulations on the good report!

@rosebud332 Good luck selling your house!
@Hollyyyyy I hope you learn some helpful exercise.
@morgantu A back rub sounds so nice!
@lippy625 I hope your blood pressure is just white coat syndrome. Fx for good results!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
#1 Favorite thing - not TTC, the cyclical heartbreak was painful.
#2 Favorite thing - NO PERIODS.
#3 Favorite thing - not feeling guilty about not going to the gym / exerting myself.

@lippy625 I hope your elevated BP is nothing!

Rants/raves/whatever:
Business as usual- kid to school & sports.
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Work has been insane, so I haven't had much time to post. I'm feeling GIGANTIC btw. I feel like my bump has grown exponentially in the last couple of weeks.
6. GTKY: What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? (i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!)
Lol, when it's over and I get to have an adorable baby?
Got my bile acid results back. It was 11. My Dr said they consider under 14 fine. I still feel unsure, as some sites on-line say over 10 is Cholestasis. I also read that the itching can start before the bile acid rises & my itching is intensifying. I asked to be re-tested in 2 weeks. If still ok, I already have an appt set with my dermatologist in 3 weeks & I will try to chill!
I'll get my GD results tomorrow. The drink almost made me vomit!
23+3, no more milestones
Yep. Waiting to see the midwife now
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Mostly work, our annual licensing year is this month so it’s been busy with visits from the state licensor, fire marshal, health inspector, etc.
(i know for some of us it's hard to thing of anything good right now, so hopefully this will help!)
ehh, I’m not very connected to my pregnancy, I don’t think.
@mommythlegend Congratulations on the GD results. I hope the meds help!
