My brother and SIL scheduled my nephews bday party for 10am this morning....and it’s 45 Min from all of us... why? other than that- it’s been a great weekend, pretty relaxing. Having friends over for a bbq later today so my house is clean and I’m hoping I can keep it that way!!
Yesterday was the baby shower, I didnt get any pictures so I'm waiting on friends and family to send some! It was a LONG HOT DAY!! We got so so many gifts! it took almost 3 hours to open and DH stepped in to help open half way through! So thankful for everything we got and that most people actually went off the registry or got useful things! Today we have a mountain In our living room that we have to go through now and do some basement reno!
Friday I took the day off and spent it with my siblings and SS (McDonald's date, Home Goods, and the park) and then we patched in a good friend at our Motorcycle club. I was fighting some pain all day though.
Yesterday I went to a mom 2 mom sale with MIL and SIL then out to lunch with them, DH, FIL and BIL. I came home and was super productive in the nursery.
DH and SS went to our local Ren Fest today. I'm sad I'm missing it, but I know it's best for me and G. Instead I'm going to return shower gifts and play in the nursery.
Friday went went out to the Keg for DHs belated birthday dinner with MIL. I ate steak and lobster and ice cream cake. Was so yummy. Acid reflux be damned but I was in heaven eating it
Saturday I went to hang out with my bestie who's 22 weeks at a charity golf tournament her family hosts. We drove around and sold raffle tickets and beers. It was nice to catch up with her as she has been struggling with some mental health issues and needed to vent. She seems to be back on track and looking good. It was a lot of driving but worth seeing her!
Today we are cleaning and organizing the house more. I'm exhausted from yesterday so we will see how long it lasts before I need a nap
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
Spent most of yesterday at the hospital. We have started introducing Max to bottles and breastfeeding. It is rather painful making the choice between which method to try at each feeding because they only want him to try if he is awake and indicating that he is hungry, and there just aren’t that many opportunities. (I also have to pump directly before attempting to breastfeed, which then presents other logistical challenges.)
In between, I’ve been working 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there to organize the nursery. It is coming together. Sort of.
My dd is spending 4 days with grandmas while daycare is closed and I’m preserving my PTO. Dh and I got into a tiff this morning and he “offered” to drive dd to my mom’s by himself. I think he wanted a break from me. Which is fine. So now I have a full day free. I don’t recall the last time I did. I’m getting a pedicure and already watched 2 episodes of Glow. I’m supposed to be cleaning my room for baby prep but they can wait.
Decent! The weather is starting to finally cool off so we can enjoy the park and some family walks. DS has his first day of soccer yesterday. Watching a bunch of 2 year olds play soccer is quite comical! Taking DS for a swim this afternoon. Hoping it helps my back and hips feel better.
Hung up some baby clothes in the closet, and then gave up when I realized I don't know how I want to organize all the onesies and sleepers in the dresser. So I am now taking a bath, and it seems like a better use of my time.
Eta: oh, and we went to BBB yesterday to buy more clothes, and the rest of the necessities I'll need. Spent way too much, and I'm pissy the completion discount hasn't kicked in yet. I have 7 weeks left, and I was miserable standing there picking out stuff, so no way am I going to like doing it 4 weeks from now. Why on Earth would they not give you the completion discount 2 months out like everyone else?!?!
Yesterday we went to a 2 year old’s birthday party and then a wedding. Busy, long day and this mama is tired!
Today has been a much needed recovery day. Had a lazy morning quilting and listening to audiobooks. This afternoon I spent trying to get ready for the week, making lunch ahead, cutting up fruit for snacks, and working on baby shower thank you notes.

Very important update: I finished the entire season of Glow in one day. I miss TV so, so much now that I have a 3 year old.
At my appointment Friday I realized I am on track to gain almost as much as I did with my twins. MH’s cousins are in town, so we went out to dinner and despite that realization, I ordered chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks... and then came home and made a milkshake. I wonder why I’m looking at 43 lbs this time.. oh well - I’ve lost 30+ lbs twice before (one kid related, the other college related). Dinner turned into a late night for the kids and we got home about an hour after bedtime.
Saturday was MH’s aunt’s birthday party. It was fun, but another late night for the kids. Today we went to a pool party at our friend’s house. They live a little over an hour away and we’re on our way home now, on track for a 3rd late bedtime for the kids. The friend also does swim lessons for the boys on Mondays and asked about us not coming tomorrow. I was going to tell her we may not make it because of all the late nights for the boys, but since it’s easier for her since everybody else has already cancelled, we won’t be going. Kind of happy that we’ll get to have a lazy Monday tomorrow with no guilt about skipping lessons. I’m exhausted and definitely need it!
We had a semi-productive weekend. Saturday I spend the morning shampooing our couch and living room carpet. My back is now completely destroyed. DH started to pull out the rest of the baby stuff from the basement and clean it. Then I took a nap and we went to SIL's house for a family birthday party for my nephew. I was dreading going but we ended up having a good time. Then Sunday DH went to play lacrosse in the morning so I painted my toes and DD's fingers and toes. I had so many ambitions for the day but was so run down from Saturday I had a pretty useless morning. Then we went to Home Depot to start to buy moving boxes and look at paint samples.
ETA my biggest accomplishment for the the day yesterday was peeing my pants 5 times in the matter of about 3 hours...
it was a HOT weekend. Ended up getting carted to the medical tent while out at the air show. Way too much sun. Shade and an ice pack helped, but I feel foolish for not listening to my body and getting in the shade quicker. Both boys were ready to go home too, so they were happy to ride with me and share my ice pack, lol. Other than that, the show was amazing and the rest of the weekend was pretty chill. Just cleaning and grocery shopping.
@sammierose464 I stole a pair of DH's boxers since I ran out of bottoms and then no less than a min later peed them.... I finally gave in and put on a giant pad. Of course then all the pee stayed where it was supposed too......
MIL and I got into a pretty serious argument Friday which was perfect timing since my baby shower was Sunday. Fortunately it got resolved by Saturday but I was so angry with her I didn't respond until dinner time since I didn't want to ruin my shopping day with DH.
Baby shower ended up being beautiful and drama free (thank goodness!) with so much food and so many presents. My cousin also lined up some hilarious games that the men were surprisingly all about including having to put a diaper on a baby doll and multitask pretending to be on the phone while hanging up baby clothes on a clothesline. Only one succeeded in getting past the diaper stage haha
I was so tired after but DH and I managed to muster up enough energy to organize presents into piles last night so baby stuff is all over our living room. Can't wait to put everything away in the nursery now!
we camped this weekend and, in spite of bringing plenty of water and knowing i needed it, i managed to get dehydrated and spent a few hours on fluids yesterday to get me back to where i should be (and calm things down a bit) and am back home now. i am still having some contractions but nothing i can't manage at this point, and i am only slightly dilated so they don't seem to be doing much yet. we did cancel a trip out of town for next weekend because with my others i was never dilated at all until it was truly go time, but still hoping that we hold out the full 40 weeks. (baby is measuring way ahead and they have no real concerns at this point, but the big kids go back to school next week and september is always such a whirlwind that i would really like to get through it before baby joins us)!
We were going to go to the Peach Festival friday night, but traffic was insane so we opted for patio dinner instead with friends. Saturday we had a BBQ for my buddy's 30th. Yesterday was a super lazy day....I had so much I wanted to do and barely got to any of it. I did manage to get first coat of paint on the nursery closet, and a few loads of laundry.
I started going through all our baby stuff in storage, and did a load of fabric to be washed....car seat fabric, swing and bouncer fabric, it all gets so dusty and smelly in storage...ugh.
Friday we did our hospital tour (which DH and I were both in awe over - it's beautiful and we appreciated all the information they gave us and amenities they provide) and then went to my parents' for a belated birthday dinner celebration for DH. My mother sent us home with 8 tupperware containers full of chicken parm, eggplant parm, bruschetta, and chocolate cake, which made me so happy.
Saturday, DH was volunteering to be a range safety officer at the local gun range so I took myself to the zoo, then went browsing/shopping for a small island or kitchen cart to make a coffee corner in my kitchen. I went to Home Goods and Target and didn't find anything. I shifted gears to fall/Halloween and hit up Michaels and Dollar General for some decorations. Then I went home and made dinner. By that point I was wiped so we watched a movie and hung out at night. Oh, during my shopping I also tried to pry open the doors at Spirit Halloween despite the clear sign saying they are "opening soon" hahaha. I am ready for fall.
Sunday, DH and I cleaned the bathrooms, swept and vacuumed the house, and did laundry. Then we went grocery shopping before heading to a co-ed baby shower for a friend.
