  • @Hollyyyyy Please keep us posted on how the PT goes!
To answer some of your questions, has your OB giving you the pre-registration packet? It is helpful to have it done and turned in ahead of time, that way they are not coming up to you and asking you questions while you are in labor. At that point you won’t give a sh*t about your insurance card or employment info. Also, I was able to get the TDAP booster in the hospital after DS was born, I would just ask your doctor.
  • @maureenmce I sleep exactly like you normally. At my 20 week ultrasound I asked my doctor in front of H if I could still be sleeping on my stomach if I was comfortable (I was then, I wouldn't be now, crazy how much a few weeks difference makes) and she said no so H spent the next two weeks poking at me if he happened to wake up and see that I had rolled over on my stomach during my sleep.  :#

A will is also on my list of things to do. Has anyone talking to their SO about their wishes if god forbid something go wrong during labor? Also on my list because I think H and I have different ideas.

@Hollyyyyy My shower is going to be October 14. I wasn't sure I'd be having one because my old school Italian family grew up believing showers before the baby was born were bad luck but my mom offered to throw one so I'm super grateful and excited that we won't have to buy everything we need before baby arrives ourselves.
  • @katy0990 I will! In the meantime I also ordered this thigh brace thing on Amazon, I doubt it will help, but I'm hoping it gives me some support for now. And no, they never mentioned anything about pre-registration?! There's a link on my hospital site, I started to fill it out and it required a date of check in, which I'm assuming is my due date, but I just gave up and x-ed out of it. I will try to remember to ask my OB at my appt on the 31st.

@lippy625 I'm glad you are getting a shower! Mine is also going to be in October- I was worried that it would be too early, but with all the holidays around our EDD's, that seems to make the most sense!

@Hollyyyyy I would just ask at your appointment. The form could be different for maternity? My OB gave me the hospital registration and birth certificate paperwork with all of my pregnancy info at my 8 week appointment. Unfortunately, we can’t do it online. We either had to mail it in or drop it off. Also, October should be perfect for your shower. You will still feel cute and glowy and (hopefully) have the energy to wash and put away gifts and write thank yous.
  • @artemis618 Yes, the dilation puts us in a higher risk category for some genetic abnormalities, so we opted to go ahead so we can plan ahead if the baby does need a specialized care team. Also, have you tried using your pillow in conjunction with the snoogle? I throw the top of the snoogle like over my head and stick my pillow in the arc. If that makes sense.
  • @echo-charlietango I’m so sorry for your friend’s loss. I’m glad you’re feeling calm while you wait for that milestone to pass.

@lippy625 I have a wedding to go to on 9/8 too! I’m just wearing a maxi dress I bought several weeks ago. I think it’ll be good enough. Glad yours fits and you’re good to go!

@katy0990 FX everything in your testing looks perfect!

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
23w4d..No more milestones. Excited that viability is coming up!

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
I’m feeling pretty good. I can say that I am officially feeling large. Bending over is now a special kind of challenge. Sleep continues to be so/so especially the falling asleep part.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I’m feeling very calm. This pregnancy for a long time did not feel real and I am now really able to visualize having this baby here with us and I’m getting excited about that. Seems like it’s coming up very soon!

    4. Any appointment updates?
Not for a couple of weeks.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Not much going on this week. Right now DD is being particularly cute so I’m enjoying watching her play. So I guess that’s my rave. :)

    6. GTKY: How's baby prep going? What do you still need to do/buy?
Haha..uhhh it’s not. I have done nothing. We are so close to getting this house on the market (hopefully can get an appointment early next week to sign paperwork) and all our concentration has been on that. We also can’t bring a ton of stuff into the house and in fact we moved all the baby stuff to storage. So hopefully we will have a place to live when baby gets here!
:#  We really just need to buy a few things like a bassinet, another monitor, maybe some extra clothes just because. And I need to wash all of the baby stuff and clothes I have and get it organized. So I’m just keeping my fingers crossed my energy stays up and I can get that stuff done when I’m able to.

  • @katy0990 I actually just sort of tried that last night.  I found that even my usual smooshes down to nothing pillow kind of hurt my ear, but laying directly on the tempurpedic pillow wasn’t so bad.  Unfortunately, I sleep with my back to the snoogle to the edge of the bed and nearly fell out when I tried to get out this morning.  Makes those midnight pee breaks a little more challenging :p

  • @artemis618 That’s the downside of the snoogle, for me, too. I hate climbing out of it 3-4 times each night for potty breaks.
  • I had a panic attack in my snoogle the other night I guess because I felt claustrophobic and kicked it out of bed. Haven't touched it since ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
25w4d, well past personal milestones but +1 for stillbirth fears. Had a friend with loss at 30w

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Ok. Reflux, Sciatica, and Tired. I've had excessive itching on my palms & tops of feet. Just googled & looks like I need to call OB tomorrow.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
Medium. If the itching is in fact a liver thing, it said it could cause premature or stillbirth so boooooo

    4. Any appointment updates?
I have my GD test next TR

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Son started 1st grade. Getting used to back to school schedule. Has caused me a few naps this week. lol

    6. GTKY: How's baby prep going? What do you still need to do/buy?
I've bought a used stroller, a couple outfits & two lamaze toys. I also put a 4-pack of muslin blankets, hooded towel, 3 pack of bandana bibs & 4-pack of onesies on hold today. So everything else @maureenmce listed? I'm having a shower Oct. 13th, so I can't decide whether to buy a little bit of everything myself or wait til after the shower & see what I still need.
  • @Hollyyyyy Hey there, sorry just now getting a chance to respond! Pre registering at the hospital is just so you don't have to fill out any paperwork when you're actually being admitted/in labor. It also means they get in touch with your OB or midwife and have your whole file, blood type, etc at their fingertips in case an emergency develops as you're being admitted or any time you come in. Ideally I like to do it by 30 weeks. As for vaccines and such, my OB does the TDAP shot but last time I had to go to my local Walgreens for my flu shot for some reason I can't recall. Maybe my OB hasn't gotten the flu shot in yet when I wanted to get it done? Not sure!
  • @maureenmce That's so interesting to me, I gotta plead ignorance here- I just assumed they'd have all of that on file and accessible, since my OB is in the same building as my hospital. I'm going to check with my OB at my appointment next Friday, and see what I can knock out now, so I don't have to worry about it later. Thank God for this board, I have NO idea what I'm doing, haha!
  • @Hollyyyyy Oh interesting - if your OB is in the same building as your hospital you might not have to! Definitely double check though because it is so nice not to have to fill out your insurance info when being admitted. You just tell them your name and waltz right in!
  • @Hollyyyyy That is convenient that your OB is in the same building - I haven't had that in many years. I am happy for this board too - so I can ask my OB about pre-registering when we're getting closer to LO's debut.

  • @echo-charlietango Yeah, it's super nice! It's 7 minutes from my house, so H going home and grabbing stuff or taking care of the dog should be relatively easy, when I'm checked into the hospital. And I just make sure to schedule my OB appointments first thing in the morning, or end of the afternoon, so I can go to work in between them (my work in 45-60 min away). I'm pretty lucky!
  • @Hollyyyyy my OB’s office is in the hospital, too. The office is actually named after the hospital and I still had to pre-register. It only took a few minutes to fill out the forms though. It’s the birth certificate form that took the longest.
  • My anxiety is raging. Called the Dr this a.m. & they called back and told me to go for bloodwork to test for ICP. Went this afternoon but I needed to be 8hrs fasting, which the nurse didn't tell me. Will go in the a.m., but won't get results til next week now. If I do have it, early delivery is recommended as stillbirth can occur. I don't know how early. Going to be stressing that the baby is in trouble until I get the results. Then probably after too... and I've felt less movement today, which doesn't help. Just ate & had a cold drink and nothing :(
  • @mommythlegend So Sorry you have that worry to deal with. I hope your testing comes back with good results. Try to hang in there in the meantime. I’m sure you’re going crazy waiting.

  • @mommythlegend I am so sorry you are dealing with this! Praying for good results! I cannot imagine your anxiety.
  • @mommythlegend I'm so sorry! If you don't feel movement at all for a while, you can always call your OB and tell her that. They may have you come in just to double check everything's okay. Sending you all my good thoughts!!
  • @mommythlegend Oh, I'm so sorry, that would be incredibly stressful. Can you at least get in for a doppler check? Like @maureenmce suggested, maybe call your OB and tell them you need to get in for a quick appointment to somewhat put your mind at ease, if possible. Hugs, friend <3

The nurse called this afternoon & said my blood looked normal. She asked about my symptoms still & said she'd follow up with Dr & get back to me again. Felt a lot of relief. Called me back later & said they still hadn't gotten 1 part of my bloodwork back yet, that part takes a week. So we'll wait & see what that says. Looked it up & the part we don't have back yet (bile acid) is the most important make/break one. Relief gone :(

@mommythlegend I’m glad everything looks good, so far. Fx your other test comes back fine, too.
