Talk to me about your (.)(.)

How much have your boobs grown so far? Am I the only one concerned about how this could possibly be sustainable? Idk what to do with them anymore...

Re: Talk to me about your (.)(.)

  • I’m up 4 cup sizes. My largest sports bras, from when I was at my heaviest, breeastfeeding DD, are becoming too small.

The biggest problem is they’re just so sensitive. My nipples hurt so much when I’m running because of the fabric pushing on them. I slap DH every time he tries to touch them. We still have 3-4 months to go - this cannot continue!

  • I am definitely up but I would say half to a whole cup and I am still wearing my pre-pregnancy bras. Oops.

@runrinserepeat Four cup sizes!  Girl, that is crazy!  What size were you before?  Maybe people who start off in the smaller range increase a lot more?  I've only gone up one cup size and one band size, but they were huge to start with.

My nips calmed down a few weeks ago.  Before they were crazy sensitive as well.  Now they just itch   :/

  • @hkom I was in a 36B/34C before. My 36DDs are now too small :(

  • I’m not exactly sure how far I’m up, but I’ll just say one cup size, and the band is definitely larger? I had to give up my favorite VS bras because they’re definitely too small, so now I go between my Knix bras and my underwire nursing bras.

@runrinserepeat I feel for you.  Going so far outside your norm must be pretty uncomfortable.

  • My nips were super sensitive during first tri, and then it tapered off. This past week, (21 weeks) the sensitivity is back in full force! Also, I’m noticing quite a bit of discharge from both sides, which I’m finding comforting. Last time, I only had discharge on the left side, never the right, and I consistently produced much less milk from the right side for the whole year i breastfed.
  • @runrinserepeat Wow that is a lot of growth.  I am not sure exactly how much mine have grown so I estimated 1 cup size.  I'm still wearing my regular bras, uncomfortably.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @runrinserepeat Have your boobs grown that much during your other pregnancies?
  • I honestly can't tell. Like they're definitely fuller, and I just switched to a nursing bra (aka no underwire), but I was wearing my old bra pretty comfortable up until a couple weeks ago. I don't feel like the cup size has changed, but maybe band size has. I know with DS I went from a 34C to a 36DD.

  • I definitely went up at least a cup, and more in the band than expected.

While TTC I mostly switched over to wire-free bras for comfort. Since getting KU I've stuck with the same Hanes Wire-free bras since I keep needing larger sizes - gotta love cheap and comfy bras! I started in a Small and now I'm in the XL...kind of bugs me, but that's just because I am so not used to being XL in anything for adults. I haven't even tried to put on a regular wired bra (I know I won't fit into any of mine), so I really have no idea what my cup size is now. I'm guessing D-ish. Dish

  • Not entirely sure how much they have grown I was lucky enough to have a few bigger sports bras around that I have been using they deff feel bigger to me and my nipples seem to be calming down hubby keeps trying to touch them aswell and it's slowly becoming tolerable
  • Mine are out of control! I’m honestly not sure how big they’ve gotten, I need to go get measured for a new bra because nothing fits and they’re all cutting into me bad. I’m guessing 3 cup sizes but who the heck knows? They’re seriously out of control this pregnancy. I’ve never had to deal with this before with the other kids!!

  • They are definitely fuller, but not a cup larger.  Band is starting to get tight.

  • DH informs me they’re huge lol - but compared to my belly now they porportionally don’t seem that big to me in the mirror. However they do feel heavy. I was a 32 D and currently in a 34 DD. I’m assuming they’re not done getting bigger. I couldn’t do the wire free bras yet when I got new ones a couple months ago. I felt like they made me look super saggy!
  • Mine are a lot fuller, but I’m wearing my usual bras. However the sports bras are too tight. I have bigger sizes, but I feel in between because I like them pretty tight while I run. My nipples are incredibly sensitive - have been the entire 2nd tri (not really in the first tri). My boobs look a lot bigger so it’s funny to me that they fit in most of the same bras. I’m not looking forward to their growth as soon as the milk comes in.
  • I'm just going to vote 1 cup size.  They have definitely gotten fuller and I could probably size up, but I haven't (because, lazy).  :# My nips are super itchy and I have days where my boobs are sensitive, but mostly they only hurt if DD accidentally whacks me.

  • My rib cage has definitely increased in size by about an inch (definitely not extra fat around that area! haha!) and my boobs have definitely gotten fuller. I haven't measured them, but it's probably about a cup size. A friend  gave me all her old stuff, including stretchy, comfy, nursing bras in a size "Medium", so I never felt the need to go find new ones and figure out my true size.

My breasts themselves never hurt thus far, but the nipples have been super sensitive if I brush them. Not painful, but sensitive. Also, anyone else get what I like to call the "Stabby nipple syndrome"? It's like if I get too cold, my nipples feel like they are being stabbed by 1000 tiny needles all at once. They get super hot and feel like they are on fire. As soon as I warm up, it goes away.

  • I've gone up a band size and a cup size but I must've hit some boob growth spurt this last week because suddenly my non maternity dresses are too tight in the boobs and I'm having some spillage issues w my new bras. :/ I was hoping to avoid buying a new size bra at this point but I am probably gonna have to cave. I shouldn't complain though when you've gone up *four* cup sizes @runrinserepeat !! I hope that's not too uncomfortable for your back?
  • @omnommer I totally get the Stabby Nipples! Usually in the shower when I am scrubbing I'll briefly get them with the bath brush and *BAM* super hard stabby nipples.

  • @echo-charlietango Aw man, that sucks that it happens when scrubbing in the bath! The two times that it's happened thus far: 1. I was taking a cold shower cuz it was SUPER hot out. 2. The temp had been in the 90s for awhile and it was suddenly like 55 one morning and I went out for an errand. I had goosebumps all over my arms and legs and then suddenly, stabby nipples! Luckily, for me, they tend to stop about 5 minutes after I warm up.

  • @omnommer The first time it happened it took my breath away. The next time I just winced real hard and thought "oh, is this going to be a normal thing?"

+1 on the stabby nipples.  Except I pretty much only get them when I get one of those random full-body shivers, and then they go away.  It's so weird.

  • I have no idea. I had been breastfeeding when I got pregnant, but only on one side, so one boob fluctuated pet regularly anyway; weaning meant they both stayed pretty deflated compared to while I was nursing. I've been in the same stretchy nursing bras the whole time which have been super accommodating of various cup and band sizes, so I may or may not have grown. Who knows?

Band and cup sizes both exploded with number one, though. Not sure by how much, but I had to size up my stretchy bras twice, so pretty substantially, I'd say.
  • @omnommer yes!! I got it alot even before I was pregnant it's feels a million times worse now with the extra sensitive nipples I just hug a hot water bottle to my boobs until it stops hurting
  • Tonight I went to Target for a clearance bikini. I took *one* numbered bra in there with me, a 34C? The band was laughably small. I thought about trying on more bras to see what size I am now, but I ran out of steam after finding a bikini. Maybe next time?

  • I started as a 34/36 DD.  I just had a fitting 2 weeks ago and I'm now wearing 40 I.  I can't remember how the sizing goes from DD up.  I think a DDD is the same as an E?  I have a little space in my 40 I bras because the fitter wanted to give me room to grow more.
  • @abowls I wear DDD, which at most places is the same as an F.
  • I haven't been fitted yet, but I know my boobs have increased a fair bit. I usually wear a 34b but that's way too small band and cup wise now. I have a 36b bra also and that doesn't fit either. I recently bought a soft "cozy" bra from hanes to tide me over until I can get fitted and splurge on some cute bralettes. I hate wearing bras and usually don't but I have to at work because my nipples are always up and out
  • Up from small 34B to 36D (or DD, not sure wearing bras that fit both).  Don’t fit into the ones I got when I was nursing yet, as I expect I’ll get much bigger again. It all went away though when I stopped at 18 mos.
  • My boobs haven't changed hardly if at all but they've been itchy the past week or so, anyone else?
  • @mommythlegend Mine have gotten itchy, at times, so I slatheraquaphor on them and it helps a lot!
  • Quick boob complaint/query.

So, I'm used to being in the IBTC so these breasts are new and bothersome. Yesterday I realized that from the sides my boobs extend beyond my ribcage. It seems weird that they are so wide, and I am sure that this is just normal for some people (like pregnant Echos apparently). Is this why underwire exists? To tame the outward spread and bring the flesh inward?!

@echo-charlietango Certain bra companies do make "side support" bras for that very reason!  It's less the underwire and more the construction of the cups including a side sling. The underwire does make the whole thing sturdier though. I haaaate when my boobs stick out too far to the sides.  I like them contained within my frame  :)

    BabyFruit Ticker

  • @hkom Dang. I need all of the side slings. I don't think I'll ever get used to my body occupying so much space away from my bones, but hey, what's life if I don't try different things?!

  • @echo-charlietango That is exactly why I need underwire. I hate my sideboob. I was so hoping it would go away after my breast reduction, but no such luck.
  • Boobs this time are slowly getting bigger. Last pregnancy I went from a 34b to a 38dd. Rib cage got huge since I have a super short torso. I’m sure it’ll be the same this time. 34 is getting too snug but my old 38dd is too loose still around. Good lord these poor saggy raises wooo need help in the future
