Thanks for the support, y'all. It's been a very long, trying day. I just got home, mostly because I passed out from exhaustion at my friend's house who was watching ds for me.
Anyway, for right now things Are as good as they will be. They took a bunch of labs, which should be back tomorrow. They did an u/s and babe looks good, he has dropped extremely low. So far, my cervix is holding strong despite the very strong contractions I had while at the Dr. So, until labs come back to see how healthy I am, I just have to sit with my feet up and rest as my as possible. In all honesty, I was expecting to go to the hospital, so I'm happy that I get to be home, even if it may only be for a day.
@wildrainbow I'm so relieved that everything is okay for now and you're back home. I was so worried! Please keep us posted tomorrow. Sending all the vibes to your little babe to stay put for a while longer!
@wildrainbow thanks for the update! So glad you're back home. I hope your labs come back okay and LO can stay put

@runningyogimama I just started experiencing leg craps as well, mainly in my left leg at night. It only happens if I stretch out my left leg.
@wildrainbow I hope that everything is okay and that your labs come back okay. Keep us posted. I am feeling not right today, myself... I had some lower abdominal pains last night and baby has not moved very much at all since then. Maybe I should call my doctor as well, just for peace of mind.
Edit to add: I called my doctor and was able to go over for a quick checkup right away. Blood pressure is fine and baby is moving around like crazy--just in a position that I can't really feel at the moment. The midwife I saw was very kind though, and reassured me to come in anytime I have a concern! Yay for being able to go into the weekend with peace of mind.
Nov. '18 September Siggy Challenge: Falling into Fall
Just saw my OB today and apparently what I thought have been BH contractions very well may not be. From talking to her, I’ve have one real contraction for sure, but a lot of what I think are BH may be actual contractions despite not being painful. I see her again in two weeks and I’ve got to start logging my contractions for duration and frequency and call if there’s a pattern showing up. I could sense her concern when she asked if I’d felt any contractions and I started describing what I’ve been feeling. I’m only 27+3 so the thought of already having real contractions makes me a little worried.
@rosebud1230 that is worrisome. i didn’t know there was a difinitive difference in bh and contractions other than frequency/pattern. can anyone explain? i’m wondering why your doc didn’t immediately schedule you for some additional monitoring, but i’m clueless as to what the right protocol should be in this situation. hope all is ok with you and little one.
@highsteaks I didn’t realize that just because they weren’t painful that it means they were definitely BH. I would have called her prior to today’s appt had I known since they’ve been going for a few weeks now. I think because everything else is going very well she didn’t feel the urgency to send me for monitoring. All other measurements she took are all completely normal (if not a little ahead of schedule) and the contractions don’t really happen at rest, only when I’m up and moving.
Has anyone else felt like their hips are loosening already? I woke up this morning feeling completely unstable when I walk; it feels like my hips have popped right out of their sockets. Seems early. TMI, it could be from last night with DH (he must’ve done a rain dance cause my libido finally made a reappearance) but I don’t think so.
@MouseMama817 that rain dance comment killed me dead get it, girl.
and yep, hips are not particularly reliable for me right now. i have to hold the banister while walking up and down the stairs, and then there was the whole incident of messing them up just by trying to wash my feet.
I’m finding any movement of my midsection to be next to impossible. I can’t bend forward at all without feeling like I’m completely compressed. Also TMI, been still trying to shave my downtown by feel and memory, since I can’t see it, cut my lady parts really bad with the razor. Not cool.
My hips aren’t necessarily feeling loose, but they are constantly cracking and one feels out of socket. Gotta get myself to the chiro.
@rosebud1230 hopefully the tracking will show that you’re not going into labor anytime soon! What criteria did your doctor give to differentiate? @highsteaks For me the main differences besides the painlessness is that the BH are a lot shorter (less than 30sec) and more of a hardening-tightening than a squeezing? That’s just me though. When I brought it up to my doc the last time they said as long as it’s not a pattern like closer than 8min together and getting painful not to worry.
@lifesabeach85 Since I get at least one every time I get up and move she wants me to watch for a pattern, like consistently X minutes apart, or if they consistently exceed 30 seconds. She didn’t really tell me how to know the difference between BH and true contractions, but said duration and frequency are big indicators and that painful contractions can’t always been a reliable way to determine early labor, even though pain usually does accompany true contractions.
@emjohn517 I've given up on the downtown. I haven't been able to bend over in so long, that shaving my legs is pure torture. Now that Babe has dropped, I'm truly wondering if it's necessary to shave. Just getting in and out of the shower is painful.
I think I’m developing a PUPPS rash! I’ve only had what I thought were normal skin stretching itchiness on my belly and boobs, and this morning, I have a rash on my belly and boobs that looks exactly like what google says is a PUPPS rash....
@wildrainbow - I know you have been already, but drink a bunch of water and try to relax if you can. Thinking of you and hope the contractions stop.
@runningyogimama - I really hope you don't have PUPPP. It sucks so so bad. I had it really bad with DS starting at 26ish weeks and it took forever to figure out how to help the itching. I was up every 1-2 hours every single night for 6 weeks itching and applying some kind of lotion or cream. From what I remember it's more common when you're pregnant with a boy.

Update: Contractions were pretty intense for a bit. They finally stopped, allowing me to pass out from exhaustion. It does feel like they are trying to start again, but not as intense as they were. I'm fairly certain I will be in l&d triage before the day is over. At least my friend came to pick up ds, letting me rest. At this point, I'm just over all of it. I'm ready to be done.
@wildrainbow I’m glad you’re able to get some rest right now, but sorry you’re going through this.
@mockingjay1 I really have no doubt it PUPPS. It’s just on my belly and boobs at this point, and that’s where I’ve had itching the last few weeks (I assumed just normal third tri stretching was making it itch), and it looks exactly like PUPPS rashes when I googled. I hope it doesn’t get too bad/unbearable.
Had my first middle of the night charley horse last night. You’d think DH would wake up between me trying to get up out of bed and hobbling around our room trying to get it out...but no. Snored through the whole thing.

@booksandcoffee the advice the others gave about stretching your toes when you get them has been extremely helpful. Every time I feel one coming on I do it and it helps!
