  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 29 weeks, Acorn Squash

    2. How are you feeling? I feel really good but do find myself getting tired a lot more.

    3. Any appointments this week? Nope!

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Nothing really other than I spent 10 hours at jury duty yesterday and I was so uncomfortable. Those wooden benches in the courtroom are truly terrible. I'm so glad I wasn't picked!

    5. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own? I'm struggling thinking of anything all that strange. The thing I love the most that was unexpected for me is our Peloton. We got it last year in hopes of DH using it to get in some cardio with his crazy work schedule. Turns out, I love the thing way more than him.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    26 Weeks. Kale

    2. How are you feeling
physically ok, but bummed to find out I failed my one hour glucose test.

    3. Any appointments this week?
trying to find time this week or next to go in and take the 3hr test

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Anyone not experiencing Braxton Hicks? I never had them with my son, and so far have not had any with this pregnancy.

    5. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own?
Hmmm...I’ll say the coolest thing I own is my house. We did a complete renovation of a home last year. It’s got a mid-century modern vibe. We spent an incredible amount of time and effort designing and picking out every single tiny detail. As far as suburban homes go, i’d say it’s unique and not cookie cutter.
  • @BabyBoyH92016 I’m so sorry about the glucose test. Your home style sounds just like ours. We would kill for a true mid-century, but where we live they easily go for a million dollars. We ended up with a 70’s contemporary that we pulled a ton of mid-century elements into. We have redone everything with the same attention to detail. We are actually selling it for school zone purposes and ended up basically building. That home will also be very contemporary, but our hearts will always be in MCM’s. I’m hoping once the kids grow up, we can downsize into a true MCM and just go to town restoring it. Once the group moves to Facebook and we are all more comfortable with one another, I would love to see photos of what you’ve done!

  • @wannaflickone I’d love to share photos once on FB and see what you’ve guys done/are doing. Our exterior is mid-century modern, but unfortunately the previous owners renovated the inside, so when we bought it, it was 100% 80’s on the interior. We did some MCM elements on the interior (mostly furniture), but it is mostly just modern, which I like too. Something about going all out MCM didn’t feel right (as homey) with little kids. Like you, downsizing and doing something like that in the future sounds more realistic.

@meg1115 animal sex mugs sound hilarious.
  • @meg1115 that's hilarious!

@BabyBoyH92016 @wannaflickone +1 to the midcentury home owners and MCM lovers. Our home was built in 1950 but didn't retain any of the mid-century details throughout the years aside from a telephone inset in our bedroom and a built-in intercom that doesn't work. We did refinish the original hardwood floors that we were fortunate to have throughout the entire house and for being 70 years old, they still look great! Oh, also I'm forever on the lookout for one of these bad boys (I've seriously got a cross-country Google alert that feeds any new listings daily but so far have struck out):

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
26w, baby is the size of kale

    2. How are you feeling? Aside from being a little tired, I'm feeling great.

    3. Any appointments this week? I had a MFM appointment yesterday where we got a couple of great 3D pictures.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?

    5. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own? I honestly don't think I have anything that abnormal (at least to me)? Maybe I'm boring.
  • @ginny_203 that is gorgeous!! I hope you come across one someday. We live in the DFW area in Texas and there are so many beautiful MCMs that have unfortunately come in to contact with home flippers who have no respect for the time period and gut the home of all its original charm. It made us so upset when we were home shopping. I'm glad you could save the floors! I bet they are gorgeous.

  • @ginny_203 omg my husband would LOVE that. He played piano some time ago, and talks about picking it up again, or at least getting the kids into it when they are older. He frequently talks about getting a piano for our home. What is the name/brand of the one you are hoping for?
  • @babyboyh92016 I'm in the same boat, I'm a classical pianist! It's just a Baldwin Acrosonic piano, most Acrosonics are very cheap console pianos that you can find for a few hundred dollars (or free!) on Craigslist. This particular design that was out in the mid-1960s happens to just be expensive because of the aesthetics.

I’m always late to the party. I’ve been back at my school for a week and I’ve been reading feeds as I’m relaxing but have been too tired/lazy to post. Waiting for laundry to finish now do I thought I’d pop on.
@wannaflickone jury duty blows. And in uncomfortable seats-no bueno. Happy to hear you didn’t get picked!
@meg1115 that is totally something my DH and I would do. I love it!
    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 29+3 today. Size of an acorn squash

    2. How are you feeling? daytime is fine. Laying down to sleep sucks. My diaphragm and/or ribs are getting stretched out like crazy. I guess cuz I’m laying down my body naturally lengthens? Idk but it does not feel good.

    3. Any appointments this week?
No but I had my 1 hour last Wednesday and haven’t heard back. I guess no news means I passed right?! I’ve been checking the portal too. I’m going to call today.
    4. Rants/raves/questions?
The T-Dap shot is no joke. Should have read up on moving my arm around after I got it to avoid some pain and swelling. I got it last Wednesday and still have a tiny bump. It was way worse and hurt pretty bad until Tuesday.
    5. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own?
I like this one! I have this stuffed animal that’s a lobster but has a baby doll face. My friend’s mom collects weird stuff from tag sales for their cottage in Vermont. I was there and saw it and thought it was the weirdest thing ever. We kept putting it in each other’s bed while we slept to freak the person sleeping (kids and all). Well, lo and behold my friend’s mom found one online and gave it to my DH and I at our wedding with her gift. I was carrying it around with me most of the night. My guests and bridal attendant thought I was nuts. Pic in spoiler

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?  I am 26+3 weeks.  Baby is the size of an eggplant.

    2. How are you feeling?  I am feeling good, overall.  I am starting to feel a bit uncomfortable.  I have a constant burning pain near my right ribs. I have to lift my right arm over my head periodically to get some relief.  This little one is using all the real estate I have to offer.

    3. Any appointments this week?  Yesterday.  It was a normal OB appt.  Nothing fancy.  She did let me know it's not safe for me to deliver past 39 weeks, which happens to fall on my birthday.  I was able to negotiate for the 21st.  That data may move up depending on how big baby boy is.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?  None really.  The Makena injections have gotten a bit easier.  Is anyone planning a home delivery or at least planning to labor at home as much as possible?  I'm not fond of being tied down to the bed while in labor.

    5. GTKY: What’s the coolest or strangest possession that you own?  That's a tough one.  If I had to choose, I would say a cane carved like a snake my aunt left me.  It sits by the front door.

  • @amber1174 if I was 100% positive I could get through this without an epidural, I would have a home delivery. I hate the idea of leaving my two kiddos for two days while we are at the hospital. I'm hoping my doctor will let us leave after 24 to 36 hours if everything looks good with me and baby. My last two labors have been awful back labor and the epidural was my saving grace. With that said, I am going to try and labor for as long as possible at home. Given this is #3 though, I'm hoping labor is fast.
