26w5d. i *think* that’s just entering 3rd trimester. i am half celebrating. yay for every day that these little ones get to bake, but boo to the ever-increasing discomforts of 3rd trimester.

i’m going to mfm every 2 weeks for growth checks and monitoring for twin to twin transfusion syndrome. in september, my ob appointments get bumped up to eow, then ew in october. the only bad appointment has been the anatomy scan where we found out baby b has multicystic displastic kidney (one severely damaged kidney). every appointment otherwise has been great! babies are growing at a similar rate so far, pretty close to the same size as one another (about a couple days difference), but they were both about 1w behind at the last growth check. my blood pressure has been ideal, plus no concerns with my blood work or whatever they check urine for. i have to do the gtt next week, and will get the results the following week at the obgyn. i am still having a hard time putting on weight, despite eating round the clock like it’s a job.
What type of multiples are you having? Do you know the sexes? Names picked out?
mo/di twins (identical sharing placenta). they are girls and we’re naming them elise and emilia. dd1 just started accurately recalling their names and which side of the belly each one is situated. she can’t pronounce the names quite right, but the way she does is super adorable: “pah-lease” and “meal-ah.”

see my bf from yesterday. plus i’m just feeling so slow lately, and get out of breath easily. my belly is big enough that i can’t lean forward while sitting anymore because it’s in the way, and i started noticing that i am having a hard time staying fully on my side while i’m laying in bed because of the belly again. at least dd1 has been around to assist me in picking stuff up that i drop on the floor. also, pregnancy brain like whoa—i have to really concentrate while i’m driving to make sure i’m not breaking any laws.

Appointments have been going good (I passed my 1 hour Glucose test!!). I'm going to MFM every 2 weeks, probably one more time with Ped Cardiology before birth (for baby A's Pulmonary Stenosis), and every 3 weeks with my current OB. I'm still on the search for a new OB, but my MFM doc assured me I'd be covered by them if all else fails, so not to worry about it too much. (More on that below) My MFM says the babies are growing well - a bit small for their GA, but that's normal for Mo/Di twins and a 14% discordance in growth between the babies. He said that he is happy with their development and Baby A hit the 2 lb mark...which I'm told is a good thing. My MFM seems convinced I'm going to carry them to 37 weeks and that I'll be fine "because I'm tall" LOL I'm 5'11" and it cracks me up that he mentions my height at every visit. I'm still going to the gym 4-5 days a week for strength training and cardio and I'm feeling pretty good.

Monochorionic/Di-amniotic twins. We are Team Green, but since they are identical, they'll be the same gender (unless there is a RARE genetic issue that they haven't clued me into yet). We're working on names. DH isn't super helpful other than ruling out names ("Nah, I know a guy with that name. He's a dick."). I have about 3 of each that I like and REALLY like Wyatt for a girl - but as a girl who was called Sam all her life (and got lots of crap for having a "boy" name), I'm wary to give a girl a "boy" name...but it just sounds so stinking cute to me!

The whole OB switch threw me off a little bit, but I'm convinced that it's a blessing in disguise. I know that the chances of me going into spontaneous labor and showing up at L&D unscheduled are low...but I had a bad experience with the office my current OB shares call with and I really didn't want to have to deal with any of their providers - especially while in labor. I would also really like to try vaginal delivery (if possible, even if baby B is breech), but I know not all OBs are down with that. The new office I'm trying to get into has great reviews from my friends and my new twin mommy friends (many of whom have given birth vaginally) - so that makes me feel better. I'm hoping to hear, for sure, today or tomorrow.

Appointments have been going well. I see my MFM every 4 weeks and my OB every 4 weeks so basically seeing someone every two weeks until next month. Then we’ll go to every 2 weeks for both doc and then in October I’ll start going every week.
What type of multiples are you having? Do you know the sexes? Names picked out?
We are Di/Di. I assume fraternal but my MFM told me that there is still a chance they could be identical. We are waiting to find out the sexes until they are born as well so we have 4 makes picked out.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Concerns/What's going on, ladies?
So I keep losing weight...not much but like a lb every 4 weeks are so. I’m down 8lbs from my prepregnancy weight. I was chunky to begin with and I eat all the time so I’m not worried. But my OB always makes comments about whether I’m eating enough but then my MFM applaudes me for not gaining weight and telling me that this will be the start of a thinner lifestyle for me. So it’s a little confusion. And to top it off people at work and friends always say “wow, you keep getting smaller, there’s no way you’re carrying twins”...so that doesn’t help either.
But both babies are 2lbs1oz and in the 58% so I know I shouldn’t be worried. I’ve affectionately started referring to the twins as my little vampires lol.
Also, I have a lot of BH with intermittent contractions that freak me out. I went to L&D once and they told me that I had an irritable uterus likely from carrying two but my cervix was good so not to be worried. I’m just wondering if you guys are having similar symptoms.

How have appointments been? How frequently do you go? Any health concerns? Appointments have been good so far. I was cleared by MFM so don't need to see them anymore. I start weekly appointments in two weeks. Sadly, I failed my 1 hour glucose test (again!) so I'm taking the 3 hour test on Friday. Hopefully I pass! I recently had the flu and lost 10 lbs so that's freaking my OB out. I'm basically only up 8lbs even though I eat constantly.
What type of multiples are you having? Do you know the sexes? Names picked out? Di/Di twins. We're team green! We have one girl name and one boy name picked. Still working on the 2nd of each.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Concerns/What's going on, ladies? I feel enormous and super pregnant. Somehow I'm only measuring 28 weeks. I can't breathe. I'm hot. This twin pregnancy is so, so much different than singleton pregnancy.
@smulrich16 I hate the weight game with pregnancy. I think it just adds more stress to the situation. And seriously, when did it become okay to have opinions about a woman’s weight.
@KellyT22 yes to feeling super pregnant. I feel like I’m running out of room in there already and I’ve got like 11 weeks to go.
