Physically mostly ok. Mentally, having my usual anxiety before an appointment. I have an U/S and cervical check today since I had a LEEP a few months before I got pregnant. I've been having all sorts of pain/pressure on my cervix and I'm super paranoid it's gonna give out on me.
Saw my OB last week and everything looks good. She found the little girl on the doppler, she physically checked my cervix and said it was ok but we're doing the ultrasound for specific measurements to be sure.
Does anyone else get almost contraction like bump pain? I think it's when she/my bump grows. I have to sort of force myself to relax it, if that makes sense and it almost hurts. I get super uncomfortable and have to take deep breaths/readjust. They're not hard like contractions, just sort of dull pain that I have to breathe through. Idk. It's weird.
Calliope. I LOVE that name but I will forever think of the horse named Calliope from the Thoroughbred series I read as a kid. lol
P. S. - As I was typing this, I got my first kick! I just felt her over on my side and it was a gentle thump.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 17 weeks and I believe size of a pomegranate
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically I’ve been having some aches and pains. Mentally I’ve been a mess. My anxiety has been at an all time high. I think since I’ve actually been purchasing some things and we are pretty sure we picked a name it’s making things worse. My brain just says how dare you think everything will be ok? Yesterday I think I had my first full on panic attack. This is also the longest I’ve gone without a doctor appointment. Maybe after the anatomy scan I’ll feel better? Also I randomly have a fear creep up that the baby is a boy and the ultrasound tech was wrong! I would be super happy with a boy but at this point would be disappointed since I’ve made several newborn outfits and we have a name picked out!
3. Any appointment updates? Anatomy scan on the 31 it seems forever away!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really just wish my brain would chill out
5. GTKY: What's one of your favorite baby names that'd you would never actually use? I have always loved the name Sebastian! I remember when I first told my mom I loved the name she looked at me like I was insane. What’s funny is how popular it’s gotten!
@ladystout08 I’ve been having some weird pains that have been freaking me out. I told my husband I can’t even explain what they feel like. Wonder if it’s similar to what you’re feeling! First kick! That is so awesome! I THINK I’ve felt little gentle kicks here and there but it’s just so hard for me to tell at this point! Can’t wait to be able to feel them with my hand so my DH can feel them too!
@ladystout08 awww! First kick how exciting. She is reassuring you that everything will be fine today! I’m sending you all of the FX.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 19+4 but she was measuring three days ahead at my last scan!
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Pretty good. I got my eating a bit more under control so I’m feeling better physically. Getting some shortness of breath now and some bad heartburn if I eat too much or eat anything mildly spicy. Mentally I’m doing surprisingly well considering my AS is less than a week away.
3. Any appointment updates? AS is this upcoming Tuesday and then 21+ week appointment the following Tuesday.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? I go back to work in two weeks. I’m so far from prepared it isn’t even funny. I need to work on as much as I can material wise at home so that the two days I have in the building before kids start fixing my room up and making copies.
5. GTKY: What's one of your favorite baby names that'd you would never actually use? Ilaria. H loves it and I kind of fell in love with it too. But it’s an Italian name and while I’m Italian by blood I’m not immersed in Italian culture.

@ladystout08 Hope your cervical u/s goes well today. I am having the same anxiety that my cervix is just going to give out.
@LCRbelle I relate to EVERYTHING you just said. I bought a stroller last week and after I got it home I had a panic attack like who am I to be so cocky that I think I'll actually be taking home a baby? My friends are giving us their crib and change table they don't need anymore and they offered it up about 6 weeks ago and I can't bring myself to go pick them up. I'm sure they want the stuff out of their house but I have major anxiety every time I think about bringing a crib home. Feels like I'm tempting fate, IYKWIM. Just SO.MUCH.ANXIETY.

Physically: upset bowels (still)....I'm scared to go anywhere because the cramps and poops come on out of nowhere. Having insomnia again. My left hip and lower back ache so much. Random pains in my side and ute. Not gas pains, but just a really quick shooting pain here and there, some stretching feelings, and ab muscles that feel like I just did a million crunches. Oh, and I feel like I just got off a horse - my groin! Mentally, see above. I hope that getting to viability in another month or so will help with the anxiety. Oh, and peeing all the time.
Anyone feel baby lots for weeks/days and then nothing? Last week baby was moving all the time. I could feel him/her constantly. I could even see movements from the outside. But since the weekend, almost nothing. I feel teeny, tiny, little thumps a couple times a day that could totally be mistaken for muscle spasms, but nothing like I was feeling. I've been using my Doppler again every day and can find baby's HB no problem, but the slow down in movement makes me nervous.
Francesca. My cousin has 2 (older - like high school/university) daughters and her and I already have one DD with the same name. I love the name Francesca, but my cousin's second DD is Francesca, so I can't have two kids with the same name as her two.

1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?
16 weeks today! The size of a chipmunk without the tail lol.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically feeling ok! Mentally nervous but getting more confident by the day. (Not counting that this will hold, but appreciating it for now.) I thought I felt a few flutters the other day, but haven't felt anything since. That makes me nervous, but I know it's normal this early on.
3. Any appointment updates? 16 week check tomorrow! Looking forward to hearing her heart again, and hoping that I will get more kicks to assure me between appointments!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions? Weird question, and maybe it doesn't belong here, but when do bumps get hard? I can feel my uterus if I poke around a little, but all in all my belly is feeling pretty squishy still. Gimme that pregnant bump!
5. GTKY: What's one of your favorite baby names that'd you would never actually use? Anastasia. I love it but it's 100% inspired by the movie with the Russian princess lol so I don't think I could actually name a kid after that. We're naming our little girl Alessandra, so at least I get a longish, regal-sounding A name hehe.
U/S went well. Turns out, her head is directly on my cervix which may be why it's annoying me, the length looks good though. I think they want to check it again in a few weeks. She was asleep and had her back to us so the U/S tech shook my belly a little bit and she kicked me, punched and rolled over so we got a profile shot. Pretty sure she has my nose. She took some measurements and I'm measuring at 17w but otherwise, little girl looks good.
@LCRbelle PGAL brain is really unfair. I did get the most relief after the anatomy scan, so hopefully that milestone will help you as well!
@tosh24 I’ve been feeling her kick all day everyday for at least a week. Today - radio silence. I remember when I brought the inconsistencies up with my OB when I was pregnant with DD she said it was completely normal because of how much room they still have to basically ‘swim’ out of the way. Unfortunately it doesn’t help PGAL brain much though.

My close friend just texted me and said she's expecting to go into labor any day now.. we were due 2 weeks apart before I lost my baby in Feb. I'm excited for her, but I'm also feeling a bit sad thinking that I should be holding my own baby in a few weeks. Knowing Little Brother will be here in Jan helps, but he doesn't replace the one that I lost, you know?
@Mandamay1414 I understand all too well. My sister is due in about a month, when I would have been due if I hadn't MC in Feb. I knew the date would be hard as it approached, and having a baby on the way does help, but yeah it's not the same and doesn't make it all better. I'm sorry you have to go through this, too.
I have a dr. appt today and am dreading it bc 1) I need to move to an MFM specialist, which they don't have at this (giant) practice... my insurance is flipping out that I'm not already seeing one (apparently w/ all of my pre-existing conditions, they're worried I'll cost 'em more in the long run if I'm not being tracked religiously); and 2) I just can't help but feel dread every time going to the Dr, like they're going to tell me something bad. My PGAL brain is bad enough that I start planning on how to manage the loss already, which is I know is so negative and not really rational. FX that both things go fine at the appt and I survive with my sanity intact.
thanks @BitterBetty12! It definitely was a good appointment. They could refer me to a MFM specialist and I can still stay with the same OB practice for delivery. And I got to see the baby moving around on US. Still feels surreal, but it's a nice confirmation to have.
@wkuandrea thanks for the kind words. Looks like we would have been due at the same time in Sept had things turned out differently in Feb. I'm so thankful we have this chance for Jan babes;) I'm also glad you had a good appt and that you can stay with your practice to deliver!
@wkuandrea@Mandamay1414 Sending you both hugs as your September due dates approach. I lost one in February too, so I know how you both feel. My due date was 1 week before my sisters on the 21st of September, which would have been a neat thing to look forward to. I'm glad we are all still here and due in January, though.
