So I have mine narrowed down to 4 (along with lots of snuggly photos with the 4 of us). I am not sure which one I want to do because I have to get the props for the photos. Which one would you pick??

1-Turkey
2-Acorn
3-Pumpkin
4-Leaves

@bfpafter4years oh my goodness these are so sweet. My votes are 1 - acorn (assuming you have great foliage available) and 2 - turkey

the pumpkin is cute but it has a lot of potential pitfalls. The mess might get all over Baby and the inside of the pumpkin is slippery so it might be hard to get the right angle. Leaves might be itchy on a naked baby.

I love the pumpkin! My take home outfits for the twins are little pumpkins since they will likely be here before Halloween! This would fit that perfectly!

I like the acorn and the leaves the best because they look the easiest.

@bfpafter4years Are you taking the photos yourself or hiring someone? The lady who took DD's newborn photos moved to Germany so I'm going to have to find someone else to do our photos. I have a friend who does professional photography, but she just had triplets a few months ago so I'm not sure if she'd be up for it yet. I need to ask her!

I just let my photographer go for it - we’ve used her for all of our pics since DD1’s newborn pics, and I love her style! I’ve never went in with ideas, haha, just let her do her thing with her props. I’m just hoping my girls cooperate for a cute sibling shot!

I've been obessed over dinosaurs latley and seriously considering getting an Etsy outfit for newborn pics. I just have no clue how big he will be. My husband is 6'4" and his family is all 10+ lb babies.

We did pumpkin pics with DS2 (he was about 7 months old). They were so cute! Not messy at all if you carve it out really well.

@KellyT22 I’m due at the end of the month, so there is a chance she will be born in December. Im going to have to play it by ear bc if she’s born in December I’d probably do winter/Christmas theme.

@ftm_jen Omg do iiiiit! I think with knit stuff like that, it should be pretty stretchy, so even if the baby is born on the big side, it should still fit.

My mom knits, so I may have to ask her to make a cute fall-themed hat for photos. She made a cute hat for DD's newborn photos.

I love the turkey one! I ordered baby's Thanksgiving outfit, I'll have to take a picture to share.

We are getting photos done in our house, and I am trusting the photographer fully.

Go with 3 months for everything. My husband is also 6'4, which is mid range for his family, and my family has big babies. I had a 10 lb 12 oz and 22.5 inche baby. We never touched the newborn clothes. Total waste.

Cute ideas! And the little knit hats are just precious. We will do more of the lifestyle newborn shoot in our new house. Hoping we can get a couple good shots of the family so that I can use them as our Christmas card and baby announcement (two birds, one stone). The timing should work out pretty well to be able to do that!

@offtoneverland I have taken DD's photos but not the newborn. I dom't have the right set up (lights, props, etc) to do it. A friend if DH is a professional. I am hiring her for the maternity and newborn.

@Eveinshock that makes me feel better! All the reviews said the outfit I brought is too big for newborn. I was prepping for pinning it to size!

I am a huge fan of posed newborn pics. I don't really want a theme, but more want some shots of certain poses (froggy for instance I love). I also want one simple rainbow baby shot of some sort so I'll have to buy something for each sex. Here are a couple screenshots from our photographer's brochure she sends out. I am SO excited for pictures. We are also doing fresh 48 pics which I can't wait for either.

@bfpafter4years OMG thats too cute to handle!!!! I cant even choose! I hadn't even thought of taking newborn photos and now I'm super on board! There goes another 3 hours of googling gone :-)

A close friend of mine is a photographer so she'll come to our house and do some lifestyle shots of the baby and some family pics so we can send a combo Christmas card / baby announcement

I might get a little Christmas hat or pants or something but nothing super themed I don't think.

We are doing Fresh 48 pictures and newborn/family pictures. We love love love our photographer. I think we will combine the announcement and Christmas card, which is what we did in 2009 with my son (November 2009 baby)

+1 to combining baby announcement with Christmas card. That's what we did with DS (N14 baby) and it worked well with the timing of getting newborn photos back and getting cards sent out at a reasonable time.
