I don't have anything on my calendar for work, and i already have the day planned full of personal stuff i need to take care of. Also, I'm officiating a wedding tonight, and I am mostly going for the food/cake.
I took a vacation day today and it’s the first day I’ve had to myself (til DH gets home later) since ... March? I am realizing that the silence I love in my house will shortly be gone for a super long time. My stepson is only here in the summer and a week at Christmas and spring break so most of the time it’s just me and hubby and the dog. I do worry how I will adjust to having a newborn and hubby too. Part of me is sad I will never have my current life again but I’m also really really excited to meet baby girl. It’s going to be so hard!
I totally did an order on old navy a couple days ago and still haven't told H.. whoops. He will be surprised when the other arrives I guess. I made sure to add a few things for the baby and DS so he's not just like "MORE MATERNITY CLOTHES?!"
Totally had 1.5 glasses of wine last night! Our local indie theater played Top Gun and we had to go. It was a blast, and it seems that LO enjoys dancing to Kenny Loggins

@countrygirl624 I completely understand your feelings. I felt the same way when I was pregnant with DS. Now, though, I don’t remember what those days were like or what we did with all the “free” time we had.
Not a good confession, but I threw my phone hard into a pile of pillows out of frustration this morning. It knicked the wall on the way down and now there’s an actual hole in the drywall. Guys, I’m an angry person. I’m not proud. (That said if you actually met me IRL you would have no idea...I keep it pushed down really far and hidden from almost everyone.)
Aaaaand that was heavy.

+1 for loving the silence and calm in my house when it's just me and the dogs. A bit worried about the adjustment, but I'm sure that will disappear once baby is in my arms!
+1 for wanting christmas music. I told SO that all the lullabies that will soothe baby girl will be christmas songs and I'm kind of excited about that
I keep fantasizing about a day to myself where I can take a bath and read a book, and pick out whatever food I want to eat. But I don’t have much maternity leave paid time so, I can’t take a day off now. I will have one of those days post partum with the baby while the big ones are at daycare.
I bought 4 iced mochas this week. (I try to just drink a cup of coffee at home before work and maybe some sips at work because we have a pot in our classroom).
It was a long week. It’s been hot and we had unhealthy air quality from wildfires in BC settling into OR for some reason. Thus, we couldn’t let the babies outside until Thursday and everyone was feeling cooped up.
@tumbleweed-1 I hope the air is clearing up where you are. Some of my family is in CA and dealing with very bad smoke and air quality from all these fires. Seems like there’s a really bad one every year now. It’s very worrisome and I hope everyone is staying healthy and sheltered by you.
@rosebud332 I hope your family is staying safe. The weekend is great, smoke cleared and our highs will be in the mid 80s, but it’s supposed to be back up to 90 on Monday and a new set of smoke might roll in. Bummer. This pattern seems to be our new summer normal, unfortunately.
