Is today the right day for this? I don’t know. Seems like it’s been a week, so here we go!
Welcome to the PGAL (Pregnant after loss) weekly thread!
**This is a general trigger warning that CP, miscarriage/spontaneous abortion, selective abortion due to medical complications, and/or stillbirth may be mentioned. There is no need to add specific trigger warnings in your posts, but you may if you choose.**

5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college?
yes, it's the right day! Thanks for starting 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 22+6, measuring about 24w 2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Feeling great. really can't complain. 3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Good about the baby, anxious with all the other life events going on lol 4. Any appointment updates? follow up AS yesterday went well. Baby is still measuring ahead, but the sonographer didn't make it seem like a big deal. She may of may not have accidentally told us the sex and I guess we won't know till december lol. 5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Mostly consumed with house stuff. Our listing went live this morning and we have 3 showing so far for today. I'm hoping for some quick offers and we can get this party started. 6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I moved away for college (6 hours) and didn't know a single person. I loved it because i was able to fully "re-invent" myself into who i wanted to be as an adult without the small town history of people assuming because they had known me. And I also just loved college because i'm a nerd.
22+2. Not really a PGAL milestone but this is about the time last year when I stopped taking BC for the first time since I went on it at 17 and baby thoughts started getting real!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Feeling good this week. I am feeling more and more kicks from baby every day which I love.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
My anxiety has been good. Work is really busy and my H started a new job on Monday so I've been so distracted that I haven't had time to worry much.
4. Any appointment updates?
Nothing this week.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
I am going to see Dashboard Confessional in concert tomorrow night, I've loved them since high school and cannot wait. I'll be paying for my late night on Friday at work though.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I loved living a few steps away from all my friends in college. I went to school in the middle of nowhere so basically everyone lived on campus and I could pop in to a friend's room at any time or vice versa. My closest friendships came out of college and I sometimes miss the constant togetherness.
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24w3d Just hit viability!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Tired! Mostly ok though!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? He typically moves a lot and that helps tremendously! When he's still, it makes me nervous, though.
4. Any appointment updates? Had my GD test Monday and I'm still waiting for results. They typically have them really quickly, so I don't know what the deal is.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): DS1 is moving up to his 3 year old class on Monday and I have feels
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I had a really great group of high school friends!
@lippy625 I LOVE/D Dashboard Confessional. I think I was younger than HS when I started listening because I'm old. LOL
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 21w6d
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Doing ok except for a super annoying and uncomfortable pain when I walk.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? It's super low right now since I had both my A/S and OB appointment this week.
4. Any appointment updates? Had my A/S on Monday and everything looks good. These are done at the hospital by perinatology and not by my OB. Everything looks great. Had my OB appointment this morning and things look good. The exciting thing is that my Csection was scheduled today so I know that this baby will be coming on December 11th as long as nothing goes wrong before that!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Still recovering from bronchitis but doing better. We actually leave early tomorrow morning to drive from NYC to North Carolina to visit one of my best friends. She will also be loading our car with tons of baby hand me downs since she is now done having babies after having her second 6 months ago! Then driving back Saturday so short trip and TONS of time in the car.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I went away to college and it was an awesome experience and I made my best friends to this day there. I also really learned to be independent and self sufficient and the value of hard work!
@lexidawg How far in advance of your due date is December 11th? My doc likes to schedule repeat Cs one week before due date and I was wondering if that was the norm!? @lippy625 I love Dashboard Confessional! Throwback! I don't know if you saw my comment on a different thread, but I saw you were having problems finding some plus size maternity clothes. I'm plus size as well and Pink Blush has a ton of cute plus size dress and other clothes! They have the biggest variety by far! @morgantu I wish I could have moved away for college and reinvented myself like you did. I'm jelly!
@morgantu Wow! Congrats on the fast movement with the house. Hope it continues.
@lippy625 Gosh, I will blast The Places That You've Come to Fear the Most album still when I'm in a certain mood. "The Best Deceptions" - omgggg, early '00s feels!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24+2 - whoooa!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Big. I'm trying really hard to eat smarter, but I'm still not exercising. Energy ebbs and flow but when I have it, it's on! I've been having bursts of awesome productivity.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Okayyy, anxiety-wise but my previous due date is looming (9/11) and it keeps popping into my head and I really, really hate it. Ugh.
4. Any appointment updates? Had a checkup last Thursday; all was well. I asked to skip the 1-hour and go straight to the 3-hour glucose test. I'm hopeful I'll pass it but I'm certain I'd fail the first one.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): It's been a busy one and it's only Wednesday. Dear Diary, I really wish DH would freaking stay on the second bath reno. The thing is not that big and it's already been dragged out for a month with no end in sight. JUST HIRE SOMEONE TO TEAR OUT THE VANITY, PUT A NEW ONE IN, PUT A NEW TOILET IN AND TILE THE FLOOR. Geeeeeeeeeeeeez.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? High school - I loved cheerleading. College - I loved being in Los Angeles and my semester abroad. Take me back!!!
@texas_t I will actually be 37w5d on December 11th. I hear repeat csections are typically scheduled 1 week before due date but in my case, I need to have a csection due to a previous fibroid surgery where fibroids were embedded into my uterus. Labor puts me at risk of a uterine rupture so they schedule earlier to try to avoid going into labor and it becoming an emergency csection.
@texas_T It's pretty surreal. Like as long as all goes well between now and then, I know my son's birthday! I am SUPER nervous about an awake surgery that leads to a baby!
@morgantu That’s crazy that you’re now measuring over a week ahead! Great news that your f/u scan went well, and your medical team isn’t concerned about his/her growth. FX you get some strong offers on your house, soon!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Sleepy & pelvic pain
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Pretty good. She kicks a lot, so that's reassuring.
4. Any appointment updates? I had my follow us A/S last Friday, and everything looks great! Baby girl was cooperative, but kept kicked the shit out of me and the ultrasound tech the entire time. It was hilarious.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Just work craziness! We are making a lot of changes these next few months, so trying to plan for and adjust to that.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college?
No formal education for me, but I loved high school! The social part, anyway. I loved going to football games and parties, and I also worked PT as a restaurant hostess. It was a lot of fun.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Feeling good! I have days where I feel super tired and days where I feel better, so that’s when I try to get stuff done. I’ve definitely been tired in the morning even though dd sleeps til like 8. Today she was quiet and I accidentally slept til 9. Oooops. But now I feel great!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Very little anxiety. Getting regular movement and everything from the a/s seemed great. Hopefully it’s smooth sailing from here.
4. Any appointment updates? Won’t have another until next month.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Guys please just cross your fingers that the paint I bought matches my bedroom paint. We’ve been spot painting instead of painting whole rooms because our ceilings are so high that we’d need scaffolding and it’s SO not worth it. So I bought paint that I thought matched my bedroom paint and it most certainly did not. So I’m hoping they matched it better this time.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I kind of hated high school. My friends were not great (kinda mean girl-ish) and I guess I just didn’t know how friends are supposed to treat you until college. I made my best friends in college. I also loved the freedom of college...high school always felt like prison to me. They locked our bathrooms during class changes AND limited the number of times we could sign out to go. Stuff like that really drove me crazy.
@Hollyyyyy well, they've actually been measuring almost a week ahead since 1st tri, but never enough to move edd, so it's pretty consistent with the rest of the growth. I hope that means baby will come out fully cooked a little early! I also worked as a hostess/server in hs and loved it!
@texas_t Ly first c-section they scheduled a week ahead of my due date and I believe they’ll do the same this time. I think they just prefer to do it before you go into labor rather than be rushed if you start labor first. Also, I loved having it scheduled. It was so calm. Chaos is not my friend. It was also mid February so I didn’t have to worry about trying to get there in a snow storm or something and having my baby in the car (hospital is 45 minutes away on a good day).
@hoosiermama-2 Sorry you’re having some anxiety about your due date. Wish I had some words of advice but just try to take care of yourself on that day. Get a special treat or something if you can.
@morgantu Three showings! That’s so exciting! Fingers crossed something awesome comes of it!
@morgantu I did know s/he qas measuring a bit ahead, I guess I just didn't realize it was that much! That would be awesome having a fully cooked babe come a little early!
@rosebud332 Ugh I hope your paint matches. We have the same issue with our ceilings, and it's a huge PITA trying to paint the walls (18' tall, single-story). Good luck!!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 24w + 3d
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Still having a lot of neck/shoulder/back pain & sciatica. Also ankle joint hurting in left foot. Heartburn.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Same as always (medium). A friend had a miscarriage this week
ETA: Make that two friends now I miss the ignorance of my 1st pregnancy!
4. Any appointment updates? Had my monthly on Mon. I was high risk with my son last time (because of his umbilical cord missing an artery). 7yrs & a loss later, I feel more high risk this time. I asked if they consider me high risk & they said no! Unless I get GD or Pre-E later. So the plan is only one more u/s at 30 weeks (this might drive me crazy!). I do my GD test on the 30th.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): My SIL co-workers house burned down on Fri. They have a 3yr old son. I needed to majorly purge my son's clothes & toys but been putting it off. This made me do it. Donated 3 boxes of clothes & 3 big boxes of toys so far.
My son starts 1st grade on Monday!
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I went to an international school for college, so it was fun learning about other cultures & being the minority for a few years. Still miss the food & music!
@mommythlegend wow, so sorry to hear about your friend's mc (I'm sure that causes a lot of feelings) and the house fire. Hope the bad luck with those near you ends soon!
@lexidawg@texas_t@hoosiermama-2 Ahh I love that you all appreciate Dashboard Confessional!! I'm taking my two younger cousins who have no idea about any of their songs and I will likely embarrass them when belting out my favorites haha
@texas_t I just saw your response about plus size maternity clothes, thank you! I actually have my first Pink Blush order being delivered today, I ordered two white tops to try for the wedding I mentioned in the other thread and a long floral kimono in case H and I decide to do maternity photos. You are right that they have some great looking pieces, I'm excited to see what the quality is like. I went with a long dress from Macy's that isn't maternity for the formal wedding and ordered a size bigger than I normally wear so fingers crossed it fits this bump! Only my work event is left now for outfits.
@Hollyyyyy I haven't scheduled it yet. Gotta call the lab - I'm thinking Labor Day week, probably the same day as my next appointment (which i don't have on my work calendar, whoops) but I can't remember the date now.
@mommythlegend Geez, that's a lot of tough news. Hope everyone is healing as best as they can.
@morgantu I went to a college only 10 miles from my small town...I have regrets that I didn't move away! But, I had my high school sweetheart that I thought I was SO IN LOVE with. *eye roll* @lippy625 Have a blast at the concert! I need some live music in my life... @texas_t Dang it, I hope you get those results soon and they are good! @lexidawg Have a good trip...yay for hand me downs! I've just gone through a few boxes of clothes from friends myself and it's so fun...it's the only laundry I enjoy. @hoosiermama-2 I've always thought a semester abroad would be so awesome! Where did you go? @Hollyyyyy I'm jealous of all the kicks you're getting! My little dude is very active (according to my US tech), but I can't feel him! @rosebud332 Good luck on the paint! @mommythlegend I'm so sorry for your friends loss and your SIL's coworkers house! You're so awesome for your generous donation.
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? I'll be 22 weeks tomorrow and long past my loss milestone!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? FINALLY better overall (not good, but better...baby steps)! I was able to eat chicken yesterday (granted, it was breaded, fried and covered in a spicy orange sauce) without gagging, so that's a win.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Relatively better since I know I have an anterior placenta and that's why I can't feel him move as much. I THINK I have been feeling him at night, so that's comforting.
4. Any appointment updates? I had my AS last Tuesday and it went very well. Will have my next appointment on 9/5 and it will include another ultrasound since he wasn't cooperating enough to get a good look at his spine.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Finally got back from MN (a day late) and have been starting to wash all of little man's clothes and sort them into piles by size...eeeepppp!! Our IL's will be getting back from their Alaskan cruise on Friday and will be staying the night with us on Friday and leaving on Saturday. As soon as they leave, I'm having DH take the spare bed apart so we can give it to our friends and we can move on with remodeling the room for DD's big girl update! Also, we might be going to the Broncos game on Saturday. It's just preseason, but DH and I need a date SO BAD.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? Well, I'm a geek, so I really liked school. I was involved in a wide range of activities and kept myself busy. Looking back, I'm proud of myself for being (genuinely) kind to all the different groups of people in our school. I hope my kids are the same way. College was a lot of fun for me (maybe too fun...I kind of went wild). Even though I failed in certain areas of my life (not classes), I learned a lot about myself and became an independent person.
@morgantu Good luck with the house! I’m glad baby looks good! @lippy625 Enjoy the concert! @texas_t I hope you get your results soon and that your DS does well with the transition. @lexidawg How exciting that you know his birthday! Also, that’s great that you will be getting so much baby gear from your friend! @hoosiermama-2 Why is it you thought you would fail the one hour, if you don’t mind me asking? @Hollyyyyy I’m glad your a/s went well! @rosebud332 Good luck with the painting! @mommythlegend I’m sorry about your friends’ losses. That has to be scary to hear about. @clbness Working on the rooms to prep for baby is always so exciting!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? I am 20 +2, so months past my milestone! 2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I’m feeling good. I have to pee constantly and I made the mistake of carrying my 30 lb son up the play structure and down the water slide for an hour last night, so I’m really sore today. 3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I feel way less anxious and I have the baby making it to delivery. However, at my anatomy scan, they discovered that the baby has a dilated urinary tract. I guess it’s fairly common and at this stage it could clear up on its own or it could mean a blockage, so I go back in 12 weeks to have it checked again and that has caused some anxiety. 4. Any appointment updates? My a/s and 20 week appointment were on Monday. 5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I am having a lot of fun being home with DS. We really enjoyed our summer together, but I was supposed to return to work last week, so this whole SAHM thing is restarting to feel real and I’m really loving it.
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I enjoyed being on the swim team in high school. Other than that, my experience was not the greatest. I actually moved out on my own when I was 17 and is working full-time to support myself, so my college experience was pretty stressful. The best part though, was moving in with my husband and getting married.
@katy0990 Well, I failed the one-hour last time. And my doctor said she may lower my ranges this time around because of DD's size at birth vs my size (I'm not skinny but I'm small) and a little struggle with her shoulders as she came out. I was in the best shape since high school when I was pregnant with DD, and I am not even close to in shape now and have not been eating awesomely, in general. And I haven't taken an official poll, but in the current group of ~15 of us in my n16 BMB, I can't think of anyone who passed the 1 hour. (Preggo brain is probs also a big part of this haha Im sure a few did) AND I have a history of diabetes in my family. All this + a tougher range to hit, I'd rather just do the big test once versus the 1 hour and then potentially the 3. I didn't mind the drink (sugar fiend here), but the feeling after - ugh, I felt sooo awful.
I can relate to your college experience a bit. I went the loan$ route and wasn't working full time, but definitely 20-30 hours a week. I went to USC (university of spoiled children is one of its nicknames), soooo virtually none of my friends worked, period. But had tons of mommy/daddy money to spend. I def felt out of place sometimes - and stressed, for sure.
@hoosiermama-2 Thanks for sharing! I just wondered, because I have heard so many people complain about the test in general, it surprised me to hear you opt for the three hour. But, your reasoning does make sense. I did not find the drink too terrible last time. The worst part, was afterwards, when I just felt shaky and gross. I’m not looking forward to that feeling again! Initially, I started at the Universuty of Dayton, a private school where few students worked and I never met anyone else who didn’t live on campus. It was really hard to make friends and schedule group projects around my work schedule. I ended up switching to a more commuter friendly school, which was definitely the right choice!
@lexidawg I’m happy that your bronchitis is improving, nobody’s got time for that.
@rosebud332 Paint matching is a butt. We just find a spot that won’t be noticed, razor off a shallow chip, and take that to get matched. Once you’re back home, paint the mini carving and everything else that matches that paint - bam.
@mommythlegend I’m sorry your friends are going through MCs, I hope they heal up well (emotionally & physically)
@clbness Eating without gagging is a big win! Whooo hoo!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 23 weeks, and well past my MC milestone
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Good! I'm having to get serious about having more little meals / snacks, but the payoff is great. More regular BMs and less intense reflux.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Low anxiety since I can feel kiddo moving more! Granted I don't feel him all of the time, but I won't worry about frequency until 28 weeks (at least that's what my OB said).
4. Any appointment updates? Nothing new, just waiting for my one-hour glucose appointment later this month.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Dear Diary, DH & I closed on an investment property this week, so we'll be dealing with that next week. Can't wait to get it cleaned up and rented out (we're going to be mostly hands-off on this one, so our property manager can impress us). I also got a car cover to protect my paint from the neighbor's pine tree - I wonder how soon a nosey hooligan is going to peek under the cover at night and get disappointed that it's just a Prius
6. GTKY: What was one thing you loved about high school or college? I loved my art classes! In HS I took metalsmithing then turned down a university scholarship for metal because I was 17 and too busy for college. So when I finally took another metalsmithing class 10+ years later I didn't want to leave the studio...but had to because my degree is technical writing, not arts. When LO is in preschool (or regular school) I plan on auditing as many non-painting/drawing art classes as possible. Hopefully we'll be near a university that offers those classes FX. Who knows, maybe I'll get a studio art degree for funsies.

Thanks y'all. I failed the one hour with my son but passed all 3 parts of the 3 hour and DS1 was 9lb9oz with blood sugar issues. I wonder if maybe I did end up developing GD later in pregnancy? I gained a lot of weight with him. I guess we'll find out...
@katy0990 That does sound scary, but I am glad to hear it's fairly common and likely will resolve itself
@clbness Yay for maybe feeling LO! Mine started off slowly, just at night, also, and then suddenly within a week it was like non stop! Hopefully the kicks become more prominent/consistent soon!
Thank's y'all. I got through the 3 hour this morning. They were out of the orange flavor, so I got fruit punch and I actually think it was a tad bit less terrible. The phlebotomist was excellent and I think I'll have little to no bruising. I went and ate way too much for lunch, though, lol!
@katy0990 I'm guessing Monday or Tuesday. I'm going to try not to go overboard with eating junk this weekend, but I have that little voice in the back of my mind that's like "YOU BETTER DO IT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE"
Ah, that little voice. I remember hearing it when I planned to POAS and the voice said “Finish your wine first, woman” ...so I did.

Had a checkup last Thursday; all was well. I asked to skip the 1-hour and go straight to the 3-hour glucose test. I'm hopeful I'll pass it but I'm certain I'd fail the first one.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
It's been a busy one and it's only Wednesday.

@morgantu That’s crazy that you’re now measuring over a week ahead! Great news that your f/u scan went well, and your medical team isn’t concerned about his/her growth. FX you get some strong offers on your house, soon!
@lippy625 Have fun at the concert!
@texas_t Yay for hitting viability! Hopefully you get your GTT results soon, as pass with flying colors.
@lexidawg I feel you on the annoying pelvic pain when walking. I am already waddling, and still have almost 4 months left Have a safe trip!
@hoosiermama-2 When is your GTT? Good luck!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
22+6

Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Guys please just cross your fingers that the paint I bought matches my bedroom paint.
@rosebud332 Ugh I hope your paint matches. We have the same issue with our ceilings, and it's a huge PITA trying to paint the walls (18' tall, single-story). Good luck!!

ETA: Make that two friends now
I miss the ignorance of my 1st pregnancy!
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
My SIL co-workers house burned down on Fri.
@mommythlegend Geez, that's a lot of tough news. Hope everyone is healing as best as they can.
@rosebud332 thank you.
@lippy625 Have a blast at the concert!
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Finally got back from MN (a day late) and have been starting to wash all of little man's clothes and sort them into piles by size...eeeepppp!!
@lippy625 Enjoy the concert!
@Hollyyyyy I’m glad your a/s went well!
Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
I am having a lot of fun being home with DS.
Initially, I started at the Universuty of Dayton, a private school where few students worked and I never met anyone else who didn’t live on campus. It was really hard to make friends and schedule group projects around my work schedule. I ended up switching to a more commuter friendly school, which was definitely the right choice!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
23 weeks, and well past my MC milestone
Good! I'm having to get serious about having more little meals / snacks, but the payoff is great. More regular BMs and less intense reflux.
Low anxiety since I can feel kiddo moving more! Granted I don't feel him all of the time, but I won't worry about frequency until 28 weeks (at least that's what my OB said).
Nothing new, just waiting for my one-hour glucose appointment later this month.
Dear Diary, DH & I closed on an investment property this week, so we'll be dealing with that next week.

@clbness Yay for maybe feeling LO! Mine started off slowly, just at night, also, and then suddenly within a week it was like non stop! Hopefully the kicks become more prominent/consistent soon!
