Hello all. I am new to the discussion board. I am 29 and dx with PCOS. We are seeing RE and on cycle 5 TTC. 2/5 Clomid & TI- bad CM. 3/5 IUI, Clomid, good DH sperm ( over 90 mil 65% mot). Ovulating 2-3 Fol each cycle. All BFN. Our insurance covers IUI so I would like to do atleast 6, 1 more with clomid & then switch to injectibles. At what point would one have to move to IVF?  Currently in 2ww for # 3. Any other PCOS stories to share?

  • I don't have PCOS (low AMH), but I am in the TWW post-IUI. The struggle is real and you are not alone! It is wonderful that your insurance covers IUI. I am in a state where it does not, so we are trying to decide how many cycles before we go to IVF because of the cost. Fingers crossed for you and welcome to the board!

  • The chances of clomid and iui working are like 15% per cycle.. and the chances decrease after 3-4 negative iui rounds.. but if you’re problem is that you’re not ovulating due to PCOS, maybe IUI multiple times is a good plan.

We are unexplained/ mild male factor and 3 clomid/ IUIs so far didn’t help.. with a total of 7 mature eggs over those 3 cycles. Probably gonna take a few months break and then move onto ivf w icsi after this cycle. IUI is apparently not very effective for unexplained or male morphology issues. I hate how clomid makes me feel- moody, hot flashes etc.
