DH made raspberry chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast! And, we bought the $$$$$ crib mattress this morning and actually got to use the Buy Buy Baby 20% off one item coupon on it! AND I have a massage at noon, so today is off to a great start.
We spent yesterday morning looking at recreational properties and are putting in an offer this morning on one that’s way overpriced so we will see what happens - I doubt the sellers will go for it but was worth a shot. Otherwise we’ve decided to wait until something else perfect comes up in our price range.
Then we spent the afternoon at mils celebrating her and step-fils birthdays.
Hoping for a lazy day today but DH wants to take the kids to the airshow so I’m guessing we’ll be doing that at some point!
Last week of work this week and then I’m off for 2 weeks!!!
Tomorrow is my birthday (and also my BIL’s - I hate that we share ) so we’re going out for brunch today with my family. Other people making me coffee is one of my favourite things ever!
Friday i went for a Mani pedicure and then got to relax and watch the New York Jets game *eye roll* but at least I could veg. Saturday we finished cleaning up and unpacking what we can. The house is finally looking less like a disaster. Then we went out for dinner for DHs birthday with his group of friends and they came back to have some drinks. I went to bed at midnight and they stayed up until 3am. Today I'm going to my best friends baby shower. Then watching TV the rest of the afternoon. Don't want to go back to work tomorrow, it's going to be a crazy week due to my coworker going on vacation and I'm taking over his projects.
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
Today is working on the nursery day! DH is currently patching up holes and tearing down the rest of the cabinets (was an office) and then will primer and paint. He said it will be done today one way or another. New carpet is being installed Tuesday and then we can move in the crib and changing table. Still not sure when the closet will be finished being installed, he is calling the guy Monday but I am hoping it will be soon. I just need to still find a glider for the room.
Also he put a brisket on the smoker this morning, and I am so excited for some good BBQ.
Friday I finished my class and then fell asleep on the couch at 7:30pm...it was awesome. DH has a bachelor party for his best friend so he went to that Friday and yesterday, but apparently a lot of the guys (including the groom) drank too much river tubing so they didn’t want to go to the bar last night like they had originally planned, so he came home. He was surprisingly happy about it! I spent the day resting, organizing the nursery and washing/sorting baby clothes. It was nice that DH came home so he can help me clean the house today and finish some organizing. We have our shower for his side next weekend so we have family coming in to town starting Thursday, and my mom comes in on Friday! I’m really looking forward to it.
This weekend was great! Yesterday we took DS to the waterpark with some friends. He loved it!! Today we went to the farm and played, it is crazy hot omgggg.
Now DS is napping and I should be touching up paint in the nursery...just after a friends episode LOL
Just got back from prenatal yoga! Managed to go out last night until midnight! Played board games and hung out with friends. Yesterday had my birth class with H. Pretty helpful--mostly making this third tri feel very real.
Friday we went down to the inlaws for the weekend, the weather was actually nice so we sat outside and visited for a bit, Saturday DH drove MIL and I to our nail appointment. Idk why MIL bothers to make an appointment, they are always do damn busy we end up having to wait. I got in right off but MIL sat there for 30 minutes before they could take her, she wasn't impressed.. after we a went to visit DHs Nana for way too long, stopped at target because we dont have one near us then back to the inlaws. Left this morning and came home to lots of progress on the basement reno!! So excited to be home lol
Saturday I went to lunch with a friend that I haven't seen in 4 years! And the best part, she is also due in October! I'm due the 27th and she is due the 29th! It was so great to catch up. Saturday night H went to a friend's BBQ so I went to bed right after putting DD to bed at 8pm and got a full 12 hours of sleep! It was amazing.
Then today a bookstore in the city had Drag Queen Story Time so we took DD to that and it was hilarious! It was a great weekend and we kept nice and busy so my H can STFU!
We had our birth class yesterday and today, we got out a little early both days which was nice. I also got a tour of their L&D floor and I'm happy with our choice. They don't have a NICU, but neither does the other hospital I could go to. I got to find out more info on their practices and such, so that was nice.
Last night we went to a pig roast that was hosted by my friend's Mason's group, and DHs MC is very invitedi with them. So we got to hang out with friends and my in laws.
After class I went to my mom's and DH went to his parents. I dont often get time with my mom, so it was nice. Now I'm home and DH is still gone. I'm totally drained even though I did nothing today.
DH was in philly for a wedding this weekend and I was ultra productive.
Friday I had a check up at 8:30am and baby girl’s heartbeat is great and she is measuring on track.
At 9:30 I went to an engagement brunch for my best friend and enjoyed some amazing honey chicken and biscuits with breakfast potatoes and a delicious decaf vanilla latte.
At 12:30 I met with a contractor to get a quote for a deck and was thrilled that the verbal estimate was reasonable.
At 2 the dog and I went to my parents’ house for a family BBQ - my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins were visiting from the east coast so it was great to hang out with everyone.
Saturday I am nesting lol. I woke up and decided that I needed to break down 8 giant boxes and a bunch of cardboard packing material in the garage and take it to the landfill. So I did that... at 6:45am... in pajamas... with no bra... before I even brushed my teeth lol.
I went to the pool for an hour and a half in the afternoon and got myself a nice ice pop from the concession stand which was delicious.
Saturday evening I took the dog to a friend’s house. She had a baby last week so I brought them dinner and we hung out and visited. Her daughter is such a sweetie and I loved the baby snuggles!
Sunday I am apparently 90 because I went grocery shopping at 7:30am haha. It felt good to get it all done and put away by 8:15 but I felt insane haha.
Then I took the dog and went to my friend’s for breakfast (can you tell I’m working on socializing my dog lmao). She moved into a new townhouse so I brought a housewarming gift and then we took the dogs for a walk.
I came home and made my husband and I was a Stromboli for our lunches for work this week (he got a ham and cheddar with garlic butter crust and I made a pepperoni and mozzarella cheese with a Parmesan butter crust).
DH got home at 2 from his trip so we hung out the rest of the afternoon and evening, catching up and chilling out. I made cheesy tortellini and sausage for dinner and now I’m in bed! Great weekend for sure.

Did some last minute projects in our duplex before we move to the new house in 2 weeks Belt on the garage door broke so we bought the parts to replace it, but dh was too tired to start on it. We're saving it until next weekend I guess. I explained to dh that I'm slowly coming to the point where I'll no longer be helpful with household projects. I don't think he believes me lol. Plan to buy some things to pack my hospital bag soon. I'd feel better knowing I had it packed and ready to go since nothing else is finished yet lol.
I was NOT productive this weekend. I was still getting over a cold. Saturday was my bday so we started with breakfast and then did some shopping at places I like. As usual I can’t commit to buying stuff and DH found stuff or himself lol. My MIL checked in on the dogs so we could drive into Boston for some biscuits I’ve been craving- literally had biscuits and butter for dinner. Sunday was a total lazy day. I did a jig saw puzzle and spent the whole day hooked on it and never even changed out of pajamas. I don’t regret it. I realized as I was hours in that this won’t happen once the baby comes lol. Better enjoy it while I can.
Friday we went to a baseball game - Astros lost but my kids made it from 5pm until the fireworks at 930pm. I am trying to do as much as possible in public spaces because we won't do much for the first two months baby is home.
Saturday I had a chiro appt and went to a baby shower in the afternoon. No games baby shower. Just loteria (like bingo), food, open gifts, cake bam - go home! If my fam does a baby shower I want that!
Sunday church and.........Chuch E. Cheese. I don't love that place at all but my kids do so, eh.
Its only Monday and I'm already looking forward to Friday!!!
This weekend was cool weather and proved to me that my feeling awful is due to the heat, even with AC. I had so much more energy. DH and I adulted so hard this weekend. Saturday we went to look at two houses, then grocery shopping, back to school shopping (where I found a pair of casual sneakers that I'm currently obsessed with and need to buy, I can't stop thinking about them), I worked for a little bit in the afternoon, then took a nap. DH and I had a date night which we haven't had since May and was sooo nice. Then Sunday we did more grocery shopping and then started to fulfill DH's nesting urges. We had an extra house key made for family when I go into labor (to feed the cats, grab anything for DD, etc), we picked up new mini blinds for the baby's room and the bathroom and DH installed them, he put the car seat base in his car, we started to clean out the baby's room and decide where the furniture is going to go, did a couple of loads of laundry, and started to pack my hospital bag. DH is in full baby mode and I love it. He told me he spent all day thinking about what needs to get done and about her coming home outfit we still need to pick out. He also requested a copy of my crazy excel spread sheet lists for himself.
I had Friday off but ended up having a dentist appt and having a tooth pulled (long story short they screwed up the crown and it sucks, but they did refund all of the charges for it (!) so i suppose that was good in the scheme of things...) DH worked all weekend again so the kids and i went to a cub scout camping weekend on some friends' land just outside of town. i figured it was a good test run for a bigger, longer camping weekend in two weeks. other than the whole tooth pain thing it went surprisingly well. i just brought a light foam "mattress" and it was enough to keep me as comfortable as can be expected so i am feeling much more optimistic about the next one! Yesterday we just stayed around home and, other than some cleaning and organizing, we just relaxed and enjoyed some quiet time together.
Saturday we took the kids to Cedar Point all day, and oof did I feel it Sunday. But because I'm a glutton for punishment however, I spent 2+ hours Sunday morning crawling around on my hands and knees in one of our planter beds laying down weed fabric. Followed that up in the evening by spreading 40 bags of lava rock on top of the weed fabric to finish up the planter bed. I still have about 5-10 more bags to go before that area is done.
@jemmerjams we got pretty lucky with the weather - it was a high of 79 so the heat wasn't too bad, and since it was just the 4yo and 2yo things stayed pretty tame and we weren't traipsing about everywhere all the time. I won't be going back again until I'm not pregnant though - they day after was no joke!
Kudos for venturing to CP, especially with this weather lately. For someone who doesn't like roller coasters, I've been way too many times. DH's company often does their summer picnic there (or just gives us passes for use anytime), so last year we took SS and did a family trip. We live about 2 hours away, so it's a common destination. I miss when they had Geauga Lake/Seaworld over there (or Six Flags).
Late to posting here but this past Sunday was my baby shower! I was super nervous about it and it was just so overwhelmingly nice. I really need to stop being such a cynical person because honestly everything was beautiful and went so well and my mom and friends just made me feel so special, I didn't expect to have such a nice time.
And the nursery is finally empty of all the random stuff we had stored in there, so once my registry completion discount is active we are wrapping up all the remaining furniture and can start putting it all together! I think we finally turned a corner and instead of feeling exhausted like we're making no progress, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Hoping to take a page out of some of your books here and be ultra productive this upcoming weekend!
We STILL don't have the extra bed and dresser out of the baby's room yet so that we can set up the crib, but so far I have washed one load of baby clothes and have the 2nd load of sheets/clothes/etc in the dryer now. So at least that's some progress.
Car seat should be delivered today, so I think that pretty much wraps up all of the baby necessities. Just need to start nesting and cleaning my house and then i'll feel much more relaxed!
