WAYDTGKU: I won't be lazy this time lol: Vitex, B6, Moon Cycle tea, OPKs, CM, CP, SMEP (ish). Side note: my doc told me last time that newer evidence is showing that you can HIO every day rather than EOD without loss of sperm quality, so I found that very interesting and I thought I would share.

R/R: Rave: work from home tomorrow! Rant: TMI, but we HIO last night and spotting has happened ever since :( once AF is done, I don't like to see any of that for another 25 days!

CS/Q: *edit* has anyone used Counsyl for their genetic testing? My OB suggested it as I have a heavily Irish back ground and Tay-sachs can be more prevalent in Irish communities.

  • @chichiphin - That is an interesting tidbit that your doctor shared. It might work for many, but I think us girls would be tired after awhile  :D  CD buddies, btw.

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: Just started temping again since AF left yesterday. Will add in OPKs on Sunday.

R/R: Planning on moving my sister into her apartment today, and then we need to start packing to leave for her wedding on Thursday. Just ready for the stress to be over with. I feel like this is my rant every day, lol.

    CS/Q: Not much yet.
  • @chichiphin Sorry for the spotting, I always hate that.

@marebear15 She's moving the same week as her wedding?!  Yikes.

    Month/Cycle: 10/11

    CD: 9

WAYDTGKU: All the things plus Clomid/IUI this cycle.

R/R: Rave: Going out for dinner with a friend tonight, excited to catch up.  Rant: On edge about timing all of this right this cycle for the IUI.  One day at a time...

CS/Q: Clomid has definitely made my temps about a half degree higher than my normal temps.  Hopefully I'll still be able to see a shift.

  • @Sparty18 - Oh it gets better. She only got engaged 3 months ago, so this wedding's been thrown together last minute. She just got kicked out of the women's only dorm (she's graduated but they let her stay for the summer since she's working for them for the next 2 years), and had to move in with us because she didn't get her other apartment yet. And she's using my car because she doesn't have one until she gets married. :s
  • @sparty18 fx for you and yes, one day at time is always good!

@marebear15 we are always pretty close on CDs haha. And your sister drama is stressing me out. I'm ready for this weekend to be done for your sake!!!

  • @chichiphin my RE uses NxGen mdx. They will customize any panel you want based on you and YH's cultural backgrounds or family medical history. Also, if insurance didn't cover/rejected the claim NxGen would only charge us $49 out of pocket for the service, if I remember correctly. You can actually email NxGen directly and ask them if they are in network/ what your out of pocket cost would be.

@marebear15 A wedding and moving in the same week is very stressful! Good luck!

@Sparty18 I'm glad to see you were able to move forward with the IUI this cycle. I hope that means everything with the cyst wasn't too bad and drained well. FX that this is all you need! Do you have to do OPKs and tell them when you get an LH surge? Or do you have a trigger shot?

    Month/Cycle: 14/15

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: IUI w/ Clomid, trigger shot, and progesterone cream. I guess I'll keep using my Ava starting tonight. I did shell out the money for it after all.

R/R: AF...blah. So much to do with work because August is the end of our fiscal year. I'm slightly concerned how that stress may effect us trying our first IUI this cycle. I'm thinking the actual IUI will be the last week of the month so after that stress should be significantly lower.

    CS/Q: no
  • @thegirlwhowaited_ The cyst aspiration was not too bad and I was relieved to be able to move forward.  The instructions from the RE are to use OPKs on the 18th/19th (CD13 &14) and to come in the next day if positive.  Otherwise, they have me set to come in on the 21st for u/s and trigger.  However, since I know I typically O very early, I have already started OPKs.  My gut is telling me I will still O early, so I'm prepared to be calling them before the end of the week.  Does yours just go right to trigger or are you doing OPKs as well?
  • @Sparty18 Just a heads up that clomid can cause false positive OPKs so just be cognizant of that.  I do hope the clomid gives you the same experience it gave me, in that it pushed my O date back several days.  It definitely screwed with my head though because it was 5 days later than normal!  I'm also hoping it doesn't give you the headaches, those were no fun!!

@Sparty18 I think its a good plan to start OPKs early in your case. I usually O later (CD16-18). So I don't think OPKs will be needed for me. I'm going to ask at my baseline appointment on Thursday if they want me to still do OPKs. I believe the plan is to take Clomid CD5-10 then I'll have another u/s somewhere between CD11 and CD13 to see where things are then they'll plan the trigger from there. These are the bulk of my questions for Thursday.

@literatureandink I only wear it at night. Wearing it during the day can negatively effect the data because of activity. I like it because I'm terrible at temping. I don't wake to alarms well and I'm very forgetful. So I like having it collect the data for me. What I don't like is their algorithm is crap. It's supposed to be able to tell you when your fertile window is starting and then confirm O after. It always thinks I O on CD14/15 (most of the time), and most of the time I O anywhere from 3 to 5 days later. So I ignore that part and I just look at the data to confirm when I've ovulated. I do like that I can see resting pulse rate, skin temp, and breath rate. I also justified buying it because you can continue to use it into pregnancy as well as after as TTA. The premise of using other vitals to track your cycle is valid, but not so much their predicting unless you have a perfect 28-day cycle with O always on CD14 or CD15.

Edited: because my fingers won't work today and again to add another tag so I didn't make another post.
  • @thegirlwhowaited_ I'll look in to that if Counsyl comes back with a crazy high price! I'm also kind of freaked out that they test for 200+ things automatically. Just pandora's box waiting to happen.... Also a FY ending in August is just plain weird to me! What industry are you in?

@literatureandink it's tea with vitex ect to make your cycle more regular. I O at around 19-20 right now and AF is 9 days later. Maybe I should be doing acupuncture because you seem to be on the right track!!

Generally, EOD is recommended only if there is an known MFI issue, otherwise ED is fine

  • @lulu1180 Yeah, I am worried about a false positive OPK, but I'm assuming they deal with that a lot?  I guess I'd rather make an unnecessary trip in than miss it.  I am certainly hoping for O to at least be a few days later than normal.  We shall see...
  • @Sparty18 I'm guessing they generally only deal with the false positives with willful individuals like us who don't listen to the instructions they give us (because of course we probably know our bodies better than the average patient) ;)  :D

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: PNV, VitD, OPKs, BBT/CM, and HIO EOD

R/R: Ready for the beach this weekend, hoping O comes this week!

CS/Q: Chart in spoiler, nothing much to see yet.

  • @chichiphin I work for a private company that does mainly government contract work so our fiscal year matches with the US gov't fiscal year.
  • @marebear15 I can't even wrap my mind around planning a wedding in only 3 months!  My head would probably explode.

@literatureandink that comment about a chastity belt just made me snort-laugh.  I needed that today, so thank you! :)

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, prenatal vitamins, EOD sex, tracking with FF, red raspberry leaf tea.

    R/R: Nothing today.

CS/Q: Just waiting for AF to finish up so we can move forward.  I got the OPKs a little too late last cycle, so I am not sure what day to start using them.  I've read some people start right after AF ends and others wait until around CD10.
  • @emeraldduchess it would depend on how long your cycles have been so far. If last cycle was between 28 and 30 days long then I would recommend starting around CD10. I think any earlier than that would just be wasting OPKs especially if you didn't buy the cheapies online. If your cycle is on the shorter side then you could start sooner. After using them a few cycles (hopefully you don't need to), you'll figure out an "average" ovulation day and get an idea of when to start them that's best for you.
  • Thanks, @thegirlwhowaited_ .  My cycles tend to be longer, so I might wait until after CD10 and pay close attention to CM and other signs.  I did buy the cheap ones online, so if I start testing a little early this cycle it's not a big deal.

FX crossed for you this cycle!

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, pre-seed, tracking w/ FF, EOD sex

R/R: Just really scared. We always thought we'd be one and done, and now that we're trying for a second we're both afraid we may be making a mistake because we are happy with just us three. But, you never regret a baby...right? Ugh. Don't want things to change (which they would, of course), but also would love to give my child a sibling. I'm trying to tell myself that, in this scenario, I'll be happy whether or not we conceive. Pros on both sides. Our idea is to try until January, giving us five months to see what happens. I so envy everyone who is absolutely, positively certain they want a child, or another child. Am I alone?

CS/Q: Cycle was only 23 days last time, so using OPKs so I don't miss my window like I did last month.

  • @emeraldduchess I'm glad I could make you laugh! And regarding the OPKs, I don't tend to O until CD17-20 so I start around CD12.

  • @marebear15  FX that your week isn’t too stressful and everyone makes it out alive!
@Sparty18 FX this is your cycle!
@thegirlwhowaited_  Ugh sorry about AF. Hopefully the end of the month gets less stressful!
@literatureandink  Glad to hear you are noticing a difference with acupuncture! Keep us posted if O comes sooner than in previous months.
@jessg2223 Have fun at the beach!!

    Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: Using Ava bracelet starting tonight, PCOS supplements + pnv, OPKs starting tomorrow, HIO at least EOD

R/R: I go back to work Friday for the school year and really don’t feel prepared.

CS/Q: Temping resumes tomorrow with Ava, nothing to see yet. It’s been a nice break though!
  • @swiftlet they tend to be 30 days+.  Based on Fertility Friend I O'ed after CD20 last month, but since I am new to tracking and not temping, I can't pinpoint it.  I'll probably break out the OPKs around CD12-15, earlier if I notice other signs.
