I would love to see the Northern Lights. DH wants to cruise to Alaska some day so maybe if we did that and timed it right we would see them on that trip.
@jandd2014 seeing the northern lights is on my list too!
A lot of my my bucket list items involve going to Scotland... especially the Orkney Islands. I also want to meet the Pope and see a giant panda in the wild.

@jandd2014 I’ve been on an Alaskan cruise and it was amazing! I want to go again someday.
I want to visit England and Scotland someday. I’m fascinated by British history and want to see The Tower of London and the Scotish castles. My parents lived in England when they first got married because my dad was stationed there in the Air Force in the early 70’s. I love hearing their stories and want to go see where they lived and the places they visited.
I feel like 90% of my bucket list is travel-related and the priority order changes with my mood. Today, I’d say visiting Japan is the top of my list, but that may just be because we went to a new awesome ramen place last night.
more immediately, I’d love to get a cover up tattoo over a poorly done foot tattoo. I picked a nice reputable tattoo shop, they had a 6 month waiting period and I got pregnant with DD & had to cancel. Guess what? They don’t tattoo you if you’re breastfeeding either. So, since I was still breastfeeding when I got pregnant with this baby it’s looking more like 2020 is the year of the cover up tattoo.
i can’t freaking wait.

@cait32 I'd love to hike the AT, too! I went to college in western NC, and I fell in love with the mountains. It's also on my bucket list to live in Appalachia again - some day, hopefully.
Some others on my list: Get a tattoo. See Muse and/or Green Day in concert. Visit the Wizarding World of HP. Go on a cross-country road trip. Travel to France and tour Versailles.
I want to go to Romania so I can see where my husband was born and grew up and then travel around the country and see the castles. I also want to go on the Transylvanian highway. I also want to go back to England and go back to Africa.
Hiking the entire Appalachian Trail. It takes 5 months, so I feel like this one will have to wait until I'm retired. A more attainable goal is hiking and rock climbing in Colorado.

@cait32 it's cool to see someone else with a goal to thru hike the AT. The AT went right through our camp and also goes through our town. One of my close friends thru-hiked, and met her future husband and got pregnant on the trail! I went up with her and hiked Mt Katahdin (AMAZING).
@katethemom touring the Palace of Versailles was my favorite experience from my high school trip to France. It really stuck with me, and it's been 12 years.

I love all these hiking goals! One of mine is to hike the 48 4K+ peaks in New Hampshire. It’s totally a future goal when the kids are bigger but absolutely I want to do it.
Just to throw it out there... The Northern Lights can be seen in Alberta, Canada and are brilliant in the winter. Might be a closer haul for some of you who might not be keen on Alaska. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate this app? It always cuts off my responses. I used to live in the woods near Wildwood, Alberta, and I would walk around outside at night in the winter to see the northern lights - they were very beautiful. You could visit the mountains while in the area, too (Jasper).
I want to go to New Zealand. I want to be fully French/English bilingual (I have bilingual status, but it's not the level I want).
cait32, what are some of the financial blogs that you like? I like The Frugalwoods and Mr Money Mustache about retiring early. Not sure if retiring early is in the cards for me, but it helps me stay motivated to pay off my student loan debt.

I love that there are so many people wanting to hike the AT! It's my big life dream. I've done partials (day hikes) and sadly probably won't ever get to do the whole thing at once... I have a severe allergy to bees and it's just not smart to be that far away from medical care. @julesf817 I wish I'd known you were a hiker back when I lived in Boston! I did a few short day hikes when I was there! (we happen to know each other IRL, though she's still in MA and I'm in KY) Maybe one day if I get my bee allergy cured we can all hike the AT together
@leighbrek I really want to go to Alberta for the Northern Lights as I hear they're beautiful there! I'd really like to move to CAN to be honest, but DH is a little more hesitant. (I've worked for and with Canadian companies, and traveled in Ontario extensively for work) We both work in tech and I know we'd be able to find jobs (and I've briefly talked to an immigration lawyer about our chances of getting in, LOL) but he's still not sure.
@wkuandrea I'm adding "live in Canada" to my bucket list now too. Alberta totally stole my heart and I've always thought it would be so lovely to raise little french speaking children in Quebec.
A trip to Europe would be amazing. I want to take a month or two and really enjoy France, Italy, Ireland, UK, Germany, Venice. I don't think I'd be able to do all those in one trip, but I would love it. Eat the real bread, cheese, and butter. Drink the real wine. See the amazing architecture. See the castles. Tour the Venetian. I've heard of the European cruises, and that might be a good start. Then go back to the places we loved the most to spend more time.
I would also love to visit New York City, preferrably in December. I've traveled all over the US, but for some reason never made it here.
By the way...I've seen the Northern Lights in Minnesota once or twice in my life I believe, but also when my family vacationed in Canada we saw Northern Lights I believe twice. I can only imagine how much more beautiful they would be even futher North, like Alaska.
