PGAL Check-in w/o 8/9

This is a check in for those of us who are experiencing pregnancy after a loss (miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, stillbirth, child loss, to name a few). Hopefully we can all lend support to each other through the hormone-filled craziness that is pregnancy! Just a reminder: there is a general loss trigger warning on this entire thread.

1. How far along are you? Any milestones?

2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

4. Any appointment updates?

5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):

GTKY: Do you have pets? How do you think they will react to baby?

  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
    26+3/ past my milestones

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
I'm ok. Still a lot of cramping, which I'm trying not to freak out about, low back pain, pretty tired.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I'm pretty keyed up. I was dx'd with ICP at this time with ds and at 27 weeks I was admitted to the hospital and he was almost taken. It was very scary and I didn't expect it to give me this much anxiety

    4. Any appointment updates?
I had an NST Monday because of all my cramping, all turned out well, which is good.

We have a 4 yo dobie. She is wonderful with ds and I expect her to be the same with the baby. If ds ever made a sound as an infant, she would give a soft bark to let me know. I swear, she was more on top of his moods than I was, lol.

  • @wildrainbow How has the cramping been the past few days? I'm so sorry your anxiety has been ramping back up as you get closer to 27 weeks. It goes without saying that I'm super hopeful you won't have to deal with ICP again and that your baby stays all snuggly in your belly until your due date! Please keep us posted and let us know how things are going. That is super sweet about your dobie!  <3

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 28w 1d! Third trimester, baby!

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Not many symptoms except for just feeling like my belly is HUGE already. It feels like the baby is taking up all the space already and I'm not sure how she's going to have room to get bigger! I have some occasional lower back and hip pain, but it's not terrible as long as I keep stretching it out.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Good. Mostly just getting nervous thinking about birth not being too far away now. I'm not super excited about going through childbirth and recovery again.  :/

    4. Any appointment updates? I had an appt on Wednesday and got my TDAP. I need to find the time to do my glucose test next week, but I'm already taking off 2 days of work (and I don't want to go to the lab on my days off!) so I'm trying to find the best time to fit it in.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I'm going to the party store this weekend to get some supplies for DD's first "real" birthday party next weekend. She's turning 4, but all of her other parties have been tiny ones with family, so this is the first time we invited kids from her school. I'm so excited! We're also continuing to work on getting her new bedroom ready to go.

GTKY: We have a tiny 7 pound cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix). She actually did not do very well with DD when she was a baby. It wasn't terrible, but she (very lightly) snapped at her a few times when she got in the dog's space, only when our dog was sleeping and DD tried to mess with her. However, now that DD is bigger and more like a real human, they are completely fine together and like to play together. So I'm sure it'll be a bit difficult at first with the new baby, but we'll just make sure that our dog always has private space she needs where the baby can't reach her.

  • @offtoneverland Yay third tri! Home stretch! I still cramp quite a bit, especially if I have to be active, which as a SAHM with a 2 yo is a lot. So, I just try to take it easy as much as possible.
