  • I just broke a molar (it's had a root canal done twice so I'm assuming they'll just pull it now) and the oral surgeon won't put me under for it and I can't take my xanax while pregnant so I'm already having a panic attack and I haven't even scheduled an appointment. They need an ok from OB so I'm waiting for her to call me back so we can discuss options and what I can/can't have. FML.

  • @ladystout08 oh no! I'm so sorry. Needing dental work during pregnancy is such shitty luck. Is there anything safe to use? Laughing gas maybe?

  • @ladystout08 ugh im sorry that sounds awful.  I hope they can come up with a good solution for you!
  • @ladystout08 I'm so sorry that's terrible luck! Hopefully they can come up with a solution as pain free as possible.

@mrsmang I totally feel you.  I don't think there's anyone I love enough to want to stay with me for more than like a night.

Not sure yet. Waiting on a call from my OB. I'm luckily not in any pain b/c I think the tooth is dead anyway so it probably can wait but I worry about infection.

  • @ladystout08 I'm so sorry! My teeth fall apart during pregnancy, it's awful. I hope you are able to find away to keep the anxiety away.
  • Tame... but I spent so long doing my toes last night.  They looked so good. Cut to 10 minutes later and we took our dogs on a walk.  When I got back and took my socks and shoes off I heard that velcro sound and I obviously completely ruined my pedi. I don't know if I can blame this one on pregnancy brain either
  • @mrsmang - don't feel bad.  My MIL is super sweet and I'm very lucky too but I always love having my house back to myself or going home from their's.
  • I killed 25 flies in my house last night and probably 15 the night before. :o Idk how they’re all getting in! They’re harvesting the fields around us right now so I know it’s probably that, but I feel gross in my house when there’s so many flies buzzing around.

  • @snackheart now that is a FFFC!

I have my daughter and her little brother yesterday and today (their dad is MIA so we moms try to get them together as much as we can) . Even though they don't see each other all that often they'll still bicker like siblings and it's really starting to get on my nerves this morning, which doesn't take much this pregnancy. Guess it's time to get ready and go!
  • @molosmiles that's really great that you try to keep a relationship going with them. It sounds like it would be really easy to let that slip away with the dad not being in the picture.

  • I've never quartered grapes for my daughter, I only cut them in half.

  • @pttomato I’m so afraid to stop quartering!

@ladystout08 Yikes! Hopefully you can get it taken care of before an infection sets in. I put mine off and ended up with a root canal because of the infection. The infection was wayyyy worse than the tooth dying.

Apparently I missed it too. According to my local FB mom group you must quarter grapes until your child is 5 or you must not care if your child chokes!!!

My kid recently choked on pineapple though so maybe I guess I should be mincing all her food.

  • @pttomato I quarter grapes because #paranoid. DD is OBSESSED and just shoves them in her mouth by the handful. So quarters seemed the safer idea.

  • It doesn't matter how I cut grapes for DS. He just nibbles out the inside and puts the peel back on his plate. Sigh.

@mrsmang I understand how you feel. We hardly ever have people over at all. I just prefer it that way - just us.
  • @mrsmang I love the idea of hosting at my house but I don't enjoy doing it. The older I get, the more I enjoy spending evenings at home working in my yard and enjoy our garden. I sound like an old lady.

I never quartered grapes for DS. I halved them length wise.
  • Apparently some people also peel the grapes too? That seems like a ton of work.

  • I am late to this thread. But we were weaning DD2 off the binky this week and the Pedi suggested cutting the tip. As soon as DD2 saw it she laughed, then she got upset and automatically assumed her sister cut it. I couldn't help but laugh but told her that it was just broken. One night it fell out of her crib and rolled under and I didn't give it back. This week has been so dreadful but I am so thankful that binky is gone. I can now say I understand as a parent why some people hire other people to get rid of kid's attachment objects.

  • @Jackiemxoxo ugh. I really am dreading getting rid of DDs binky. She only uses it for sleep and in the car. But she LOVES it so much.

  • @BitterBetty12, taking the binky away is the worst. Last month I gave in and gave it back. This time I knew we had to get rid of it. Even our dentist said it was horrible taking it away from his son. I am really hoping this next baby doesn't get attached. DD1 never got attached but DD2 absolutely LOVED that thing.

  • @jandd2014 when I shared an apartment with my sister we had a MAJOR fruit fly problem.  They were everywhere but we had no food on our counters and couldn't track the source.  I mean our kitchen was spotless.  I thought maybe someone died and they were coming through the vents.  Nope.... we had this one cupboard we NEVER used that had a sack of potatoes that had rot because it was forgotten about since we never used it. Happiest and grossest day ever.  <--- bonus FFFC
I HAD LITERALLY THE SAME THING HAPPEN so gross lolol
  • We took DD's binky from her when she was about 19-20 months old. She was only using it for naps and bedtime at that point. We had her put then in a cup for the "binky fairy" to take and give to new babies. We had five terrible nights, then she was ok. Sometimes she will still say "binkies gone", but for the most part she seems to have forgotten about them. It was really important for me to have her off the binky before #2 comes along.

Gah i’m so sorry. I can relate so much to this, my teeth are exactly the same way. I have FIVE crowns and while my dental anxiety has gotten way better I used to full on panic. I still hate every second of it. I hope they can come up with a solution for you.

My OB called and basically I can have lidacine to numb me and that's it. Any prescriptions for after need approved by her.
