  • How far along are you? How big is baby?

I am 19 weeks. Baby is the size of a zucchini?

How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms?

I feel super emotional this week. I cried all day yesterday and just had zero motivation to do anything. I also had heartburn for the first time that woke me up in the middle of the night, so that was fun. Yesterday and today I’m feeling some abdominal cramping too. Nothing too bad , but it makes me a bit nervous. I don’t have much of a bump yet though so I thinking it’s probably just stretching.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?

We announced the gender to our family this past weekend! We are having a boy! It was exiting to finally see the baby at my A/S.

I’m a teacher so August mean back to work. I’m nervous about having enough energy and stamina to keep up with my middle schoolers this fall. I’m such a hands on teacher do a ton of extra curriculars for the school. I don’t want to let my students down because I’m too tired!

GTKY: Are you doing now what you wanted to do as a kid when you grew up?

I am! I always wanted to be teacher. I love my job and my “kids.” They were so excited to hear I am pregnant. Of course they all want the baby to be named after them

  • @AdorkablePixie I hope your cold gets better soon! I had one a few weeks back and it knocked me out! Saline nasal spray was helpful for me!!
  • How far along are you? How big is baby? 17w1d, Pomegranate

How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms? Still have nausea and some vomiting. Wondering if that will ever end. Braxton Hicks contractions, RLP, Headaches, clumsiness, congestion, sneezing. Nothing really new though.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: My mom bought my my 2 year old a little tikes out door play ground, which makes me ecstatic because now he finally has something to do in our backyard! I was feeling bad being so sick and being stuck in the house, so now he can play outside at home instead of me bringing him to the park! Rant: My husband's car AC isn't working (and it's been 106 here in Texas so that's not going to work with an hour commute), and his breaks are worn down. So, he has been using my car, and I have been stuck at home and although I'm okay with it for the most part since I haven't felt like leaving the house, it's still a bit annoying to not have any freedom to go somewhere if needed. Bleh!

GTKY: Are you doing now what you wanted to do as a kid when you grew up? Kind of...I really always wanted to be an at home mom (I knew that when I was in college). But I also wanted to be a Zoo keeper or wildlife zoologist, and that hasn't happened. Haha. But I am perfectly happy being a housewife right now!

  • @AdorkablePixie I’m sorry you are not feeling well and are not going to get to go visit your family. I hope you recover soon!

@mkeys89 I hope you have a wonderful school year. I am also a teacher, but I’m taking some time off and I feel so strange. I feel like I should be prepping my classroom.

@Whitmore1027 I hope he likes his play set. It is so nice to be able to entertain them at home!

How far along are you? How big is baby?

18 weeks, 1 day, the size of an artichoke

How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms?

I’m feeling pretty good, just tired and I get winded easily.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?

The school I resigned from last month starts next week and they just hired a new principal on Thursday. They still have not posted my job or those of the other 4 teachers and 1 admin who left. No one can access the building and supply lists have not been sent out. I feel bad for my friends who are still there, but I’m so glad to not be dealing with that mess!

GTKY: Are you doing now what you wanted to do as a kid when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a mom, so yes. I also wanted to be a lawyer, but I became a teacher instead.

How far along are you? How big is baby?

18+6 today. baby is the size of an artichoke, a mango, or string cheese. or the size of an elephant or a soccer team based on the kicks she’s doing right now.

How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms?

The early pregnancy stuff like nausea/vomiting is fading but my hip is hurting, more RLP, and lots of late afternoon early evening kicking fests. I think the reflux is getting worse too.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?

Annoyed with poor care at my daughter’s summer program. 3.5 weeks to go; the countdown is on. We *love* the teachers in her school year preschool.

GTKY: Are you doing now what you wanted to do as a kid when you grew up?

Maybe not as a kid? But since I was 15 I knew I wanted to be a psychologist. Though I doubt I could have envisioned my exact niche area, which really wasn’t established at that time.

  • @mkeys89 I am sure you will do fine! When actually in the moment you may have more energy than you'd think.

@Whitmore1027 I hope the nausea and vomiting subside soon! My best friend got sick her entire pregnancy! I hope that's not the case for you. :(

@katy0990 I get winded easily too! I use to wake up the six flights of stair at work and be able to breath okay at the end, now I am breathing like I've just run a marathon after going up them. It's sad. Wow! I feel sorry for the people who still work at your old school. That's terrible.

@Katzalia Oh no! :( Sorry about the poor care.

GTKY: Are you doing now what you wanted to do as a kid when you grew up?

Always wanted to be a fashion designer which I went to school for. Had fam up in jersey and NY and the appeal to live there wasn't there so stayed in VA and did marketing and sales for a law firm which turned into a Trademark/Patent Docketing Specialist for the past 10+ years which I love. I feel like we all end doing what we didn't think we would. I still love love anything crafty so just make my kids costumes and gifts for friends when I have time which no longer exist these days!

  • Haven't seen a new post for this week so posting here. Feeling incredibly sad. Got a call from my son's school during lunch that a classmate of his (5 year old girl named Brooklyn) was murdered by her mother over a custody batter. So now figuring out what to say to my son besides she went to a new school. I can not fathom why anyone would hurt their kids over a divorce. And more than anything else why didn't she kill herself? Why the kids? I passed this lady daily and would of had no idea. I wish we lived in a better world.

  • @mcgeeva
I'm not bleeding anymore but it's still fairly large and it's right above my cervix. I think the placement is the biggest concern right now because I could go into preterm labor( which is apparently a side effect of SCH) and honestly I'm not even sure what would happen at that point. I'm just anxiously awaiting my appt to find out more.

I'm so sorry about your son's classmate. I honestly cannot even imagine how to deal with that situation.
  • @gorgeiousariel im sorry that's really scary. Well hopefully preterm stay far far away.

  • @mcgeeva so sorry for the senseless loss, and the challenge you, your son, and his classmates are facing. Sometimes schools have grief counselors come in when there is a tragedy/loss likely impacting many students. School counselors can also sometimes provide coaching on how to talk to your kid about  traumatic events or grief. I have some links I can add tomorrow when I’m at work that might be helpful in thinking about how to approach this conversation with your son in an age-appropriate way.
  • @mcgeeva That is terrible. We really live in a messed up world. I wouldn’t even dream of hurting my child. I have no idea what I’d tell my child, certainly not that her mother killed her. Ugh. Saying a prayer for everyone involved!

Thanks guys. Yesterday was rough. They plan to take the little girls stuff down tomorrow and tell all the kids her last day was last friday and she went to a new school. Whats bothering me is they courts had a restraining order lifted in 2016 knowing the mother was clearly not stable with a weapon and the father was retiring from the military this month to be a stay at home dad with her. Truly awful. We pass this lady daily she was a nurse. Blows my mind you can never tell from the outside that someone isn't right and I can imagine what the past two years she endured with her mother. Because lets be honest people like that don't just hurt their children once. We fear our kids will be beat up in school not hurt by their own parents. I asked my son yesterday if any of his friends were missing from class since she has a cubby next to him and thankfully he didn't know anything besides her being out.
