My most recent house hunting adventure made me realize how many homes only had room for stacking units, and not room for my side-by-side LG behemoths. Then when we were camping in our house for a month waiting on our household goods to arrive, I was at the laundromat twice a week. I thought about washing in the bathtubs and line drying, but that just wasn't feasible for the bedding. When our things did arrive, DH got the laundry room set up ASAP, and I was too happy to wash the towels at home again. I have always appreciated the machines, but didn't realize until now how dependent I am on them. In future-land I would love to get a smaller European or Asian combo machine for the kitchen, but until we build a house, the giant American pair will continue to be a huge factor in future home purchases!

Non pregnant - lots of diet coke, wine/prosecco, sushi, cooking.
Pregnant - much less diet coke, breakfast sandwiches, naps/sleeping in.
Always - time to write, time to play/write music, 30 Rock rewatching, my incredibly nice and supportive husband (who brings me breakfast sandwiches and watches our daughter so I can nap), extremely dumb text conversations with my best friend, spending too much money at Target, various HGTV shows, long walks outdoors (when it's not a million degrees out.) ***Edited to add snuggles and fun time with my DD which is legitimately the best part of every day and I feel like a monster for not including, lol
@echo-charlietango Oh I cannot wait to buy a home so we can have a washer/dryer! We rent still and, luckily, we live literally next to the laundry room on our floor, but it's not the same. My husband was just dreaming about that day last night, haha.
Ugh @echo-charlietango we had to let go of our GEORGEOUS washer/dryer set when we moved to Vegas because our apartment had a stacking set already and there was no place to store the ones we had. It was so sad. Now that we own we had to re-buy a set. I was going to get a reasonable used set but MIL insisted on buying us a new set (all the eyerolls) and then paid for two cheap crappy machines that really aren’t getting anything washed well — including our diapers. I know, gift horse. But it still makes me miffed every time I think about it.
Anyway. I forgot about coffee, tea, and pizza. And alcohol, but clearly I’m living without it now, for the most part, so it’s doable if not a bit painful. I just want a nice strong Manhattan or a single high-octane beer.

Nike Air Pegasus running shoes. I've worn the last 7-8 models and have never been disappointed. I buy a black pair to referee in every other year and a fun color pair to train in once a year. Once I've worn them out for training, they become my wear around shoe until the next rotation. They fit my feet perfectly without having to break them in or get used to a new fit. I love that they are so consistent year to year I can just walk in to a store and pull a 10.5 off the shelf and know they will be awesome.
there are two motivations in sports, which is yours?
@PensiveCrayon Oy. When someone offers to buy us things I usually have to remind them that DH & I are super picky and would prefer gift cards instead. We just can’t deal with cheap stuff anymore - at least not where there are obvious differences in quality as the price goes up. Also, maybe we should just plan on boozing together in...April or May? You can enjoy a Manhattan, and I’ll have a vodka martini. The men can deal with babies. We’re moving in June again, I forget if you’re June-PCSers too

Freedom/flexibility/autonomy. I've only ever worked at small companies with virtually no policies about anything. I think I'd struggle bigtime with strict PTOs and set work hours.
@PensiveCrayon I would love an old fashioned with a small batch bourbon.
Today: I can’t live without brownies
Ever other day: I can’t live without my hubby to make me laugh, my DD who fills the world with joy and the unconditional love of my pups! I also like good bedding and a shower with pressure annnnnd all the other luxuries we take for granted!!
Pizza, a blanket (I NEED to sleep with a blanket on, no matter what), carbs, and I'm totally stealing A/C from pp's (especially this summer, and especially while pregnant)!
I have been trying to think of something interesting all day! Didn't come up with much but my list is: Coffee Hot showers Yoga Being outside My phone (i could, but it makes life so much more convenient)
@echo-charlietango Yusssss. I was already planning on inviting myself over after I read your dinner party/hospitality post earlier this week! Also I forgot you're only here for a year. We're here for a regular three-year stint -- just passed our one-year anniversary last month.

In no particular order except the essential first two: Snuggles, adventures, conversations, and silly time with my girl MH who keeps our lives running and makes my heart happy, especially when he relaxes enough to play with me My phone Coffee Strawberries Sparkling water Excellent organization systems for drawers, closets, storage. If I have a good system in place, it’s easy to maintain and keep everything in its place, which makes me happy. When I don’t: clutter and chaos. A double-hinged corkscrew and a nice spicy zin. Meaningful work where I get to maximize & continue to develop my skills. Good music. All sorts. At least some of it live. Satin pillowcases to prevent hair frizzing. Good shoes, in any season. Good boots in winter (yes there are fully waterproof stylish boots. so worth it). And a good community of people, in all my areas of life.
Music New and/or interesting, delicious restaurants A good pair of flip flops A good pair of jeans Travel My car Air conditioning Ice My family and friends
Chapstick! I get anxiety if I accidentally leave the house without one. A book-same as above. Coffee Prior to moving abroad I would have said AC, but apparently I can live without it, albeit not happily.
My hubby, son, dogs, best friend, and my mom! Coffee Chocolate AC Chapstick Gym time My running shoes (Altra one) Water My car because I need it for work
Probably more stuff but I can’t think of them..
@deutschmama I am the same way with chapstick. I always have one on my and carry and extra in my purse. lol

First and foremost, my people! DH, DS and my immediate family whom we live very close to. Every one of those people are a very important part of my daily life, and it just fills my soul. Alcohol. Yep, I can live without for 9 months, but it's my vice to relax and I damn sure miss it. Jealous of @PensiveCrayon & @echo-charlietango meeting up with a stiff drink! My kitchen A/C for sure! My phone A hot shower Coffee
PIZZA! And air conditioning! We lived with my ILs for awhile, and they don't have air conditioning in their house. I survived exactly one summer with them and told my husband I wasn't doing it again lol My only stipulation when we moved out was that wherever we went HAD to have central AC. Still true :P
@temmetime@rosebud332 I wasn't even thinking of faith when I thought of this list, but I guess it can go at the top. Along with DH.
Then the sillier things: Caffeine (tea or coffee, okay with either) music/my piano craft supplies books my comforter - even in the summer I need weight above me to sleep well and I guess the portable A/C in the bedroom so I can sleep with the aforementioned comforter! Laughter board games (not like Monopoly... but strategy and party games. Like 7 Wonders, Caverna, Catan, Terraforming Mars and then games like Dixit, Cards Against Humanities, etc.) And yes to the washer/dryer!
Re: GTKY- What can you not live without

Fresh fruit - that is probably 70% of my kids diet. For ds2 it’s probably 70% fruit 25% milk 5% other.
