Persistance paid off today! Every time one coworker comes in with a fancy coffee drink I ask him where mine is and today he finally brought me one!!!! (He gets donuts from me frequently so now I think we're even)
So I'm a very very snarky person.. and I have Discovered that my underwear collection is just as snarky as I am. Trying to find a pair that didn't say some form of "kiss my ass" or "smartass" basically most of my underwear says something that could be offensive or some kind of "screw you" message lol I have like three different ones that all say smartass lol so I've got snarky undies for the hospital. Oh well. So my little one must be coming soon! Lost the plug over the weekend, been having contractions both Braxton Hicks and the really mild cramp like ones. So I'm pretty sure I'm starting to dialate. And he's dropped really really low! Increased lower back pain and my hips are definitely lose. Just walking around I find myself having to stop way more or grab onto something. Thankfully my breasts have been leaky for a time so when he comes I hope it'll be easy to start breastfeeding. Fingers crossed. Our bags will be all packed and ready by tonight. My mom told me she thinks he's coming within the next week and a half. I feel like she's right! I'm 35+1 today, but he measures a month bigger (above the 98th percentile). I have always felt like my due date was wrong. We'll see!
@fftm9318 Just keep in mind that your plug can regenerate and you can have contractions for weeks before baby makes an appearance. I had all of those for a few weeks before #1 was due and he still came on his own 2 weeks late.
If this ends ends up being it, good luck! I just don’t want you to assume that it’s definitely baby time and be bummed if it isn’t time.
I started making a list of stuff for my hospital bag, but getting the motivation to pack everything is a different story. I packed baby's bag but ended up taking it all out to start over. I did start to really clean, starting with my bedroom so I guess that's a plus. Did I mention that I only have about a week and half left of work!?!?! 5 weeks and counting till baby.
@fftm9318 With my first pregnancy my son dropped and engaged at 28 weeks. Started having dozens of contractions per day at 32 weeks, measured a month ahead the whole time even though I was secure in dates. Plug loss started at 35 weeks exactly, full blown labor at 35+4. Born that evening. I was born a month early at 35 weeks, so was my mom-we were both small (4 lbs 12 oz for her and 5 lbs 5 oz for me). I wasn't worried about having him that early, but I should have been.
He came out breathing, and large (6 lbs 11 oz) for his size, but was not ready for the outside world. He became unable to breathe very quickly, and was a a full ventilator for an entire week. Not just oxygen support, but the machine had to do all of the breathing work. Then a week on CPAP and he was finally allowed to try food by mouth. He developed an oral aversion though in that first week with constant feeding tube placements, etc, so it took 2 weeks to teach him how to eat. It was by awful time, and he's been in and out of different therapies since then. He's healthy now, but likely our first six months would have been so much easier (bad reflux from stomach being immature, think eating every 90 min all day and night for months) if he had stayed in.
I started threatening early labor again last Friday, at 34 weeks exactly. Still having 70-100 contractions per day, most around 10-15 min apart all day long. I have terrible SPD that causes pain with every single step I take, and I'm chasing an active 2 year old. And I'm still wishing desperately to keep this baby in until at least 37 weeks (17 days!!). I'd willing to go longer too, but given family history it's unlikely.
Either way, hoping for a preemie isn't a great idea.

@fftm9318 That is exciting! I agree with @pourmeamocktail about how some of these signs can last for weeks. Also been having cramp like contractions for weeks here. However, I would alert your medical professionals so they can check everything and see if they can get the lung steroid shot in if needed. Good luck with it all!
@lpq0309 I've been slowly packing our hospital bag for a month. We're using my carrier on travel bag so my stuff, baby stuff, and some of H's stuff is in there + snacks and drinks. I keep it by the door, partly just in case and partly so when I get something else for it (hey mesh undies!) I can just pop them in real quick.
@fftm9318 like @SkilledSailor mentioned, please call your OB about your symptoms and see if you need that steroid shot. Underdeveloped lungs are nothing to mess around with and can lead to a lifetime of issues. Good luck! (I lost my mucus plug exactly 2 weeks before DS was born)
As others have mentioned @fftm9318 just because you think your due date is wrong doesn’t mean baby is ready to come out yet. I would second checking with your OB to see if you need steroid shots or other attention if they are concerned for active or imminent labor. But, as PP have mentioned as well, none of the things you are experiencing necessarily mean labor is near at all. I had nearly all those symptoms for weeks last pregnancy and still needed induced. I hope your baby keeps cooking longer, even though I know you are excited, because it really does sound like it’s too soon right now.
@pourmeamocktail I hope your LO stays in much longer this time and you can have a much different first week of life experience! Having a late preterm baby is not an easy road to travel!

It's interesting how past pregnancy experiences really influence how you envision the next pregnancy. I remember hitting 37 weeks with my first and being like "baby could come any day now!" but then she was surgically removed 11 days after her due date, ha. Never made that mistake again. My second was a few days late and my third was on his due date. I realized today that I have basically ruled out the possibility that this one will come any time before a few days early (which is of course ridiculous because who knows when he'll come). I noticed after I responded to an email for my 5 year old's school activities. After I sent it I was like, hmm, maybe I shouldn't commit to something at 38.5 weeks.

Also (sorry I have a huge problem commenting multiple times in a row, hope that doesn't bother you guys), I just saw that Orange is the New Black released a new season. I am excited to watch it but I feel like I barely remember the last season so I don't know how it will go. It's hard for me to watch all the episodes over the period of a couple weeks and then go a year without thinking about them. Anyone else excited to watch it? Did you guys start yet? Do you remember what the heck happened in that whirlwind of a last season?

@crispy11 for OITNB all I remember is rioting, some guards making it, others not so much. I think someone escaped? Gee. I thought I remembered more. But I do know they were about to get busted. I guess it's an excuse to watch it again? Although last season wasn't really my fave. We'll see what this one has in store.
@crispy11@tpeci I just finished the new season of OITNB and it was much better than the last season! I didn’t remember much from the last season, but decided to not watch it again because I wasn’t a huge fan of it.
Last season there was a riot, Piper/Alex are engaged, corporate lady is mistaken as a prisoner, I think the asshole guard and the giant guard died, at the very end the riot was over and they were splitting everyone up to go to different places
I'm excited to start the new season, good to hear it's better!
@megnwingate 33 days here! But who knows... it could be 47 days!

@tpeci that is about how much I remembered. It's weird after being so engrossed in it. @klj0228 I felt the same way about last season. I'm glad to hear it's better. Thanks for the recap @EErin86! And @MandyMost maybe we'll be watching around the same pace. I'm still getting to "know" many of you guys, but I feel like you have an older child. OITNB is a tough show to watch if you have young children at home. Definitely an after-bedtime show!

@crispy11 yes, I have a 2-year-old...I basically only watch “real” TV from about 8-10pm, and that’s also the only quality time with my husband, so it’s not all available for binge-watching! I watched soooooo much TV when pregnant with my first. I basically rewatched the entire series of ER. Oh, and during maternity leave I binge-watched Pretty Little Liars, because it was juicy enough to keep me enter but mindless and easy enough for my exhausted post-partum brain and falling asleep for an episode at a time.
@MandyMost - There's a TV network we have called Pop that shows a lot of ER. DVR'd it and had been working through it when I had the chance. 88 episodes to go and earmarked for maternity leave!! Love that show!

@MandyMost and @DanyTargaryen ER is my favorite show ever. I own the entire series on DVD. I'm in season 2 right now. For like the 8th time or something. I also have all of Roseanne. Because I stopped watching new TV a long time ago, until Call the Midwife came to Netflix.

Oh @DanyTargaryen I am very familiar with the Pop Network!!! LOL. I get so pissed when it’s just Without A Trace all day and no ER! Although now they’re also playing old 90210, and I can totally get on board with that.
Last night I tried to order a crib off BRU website and when I went to check out, the shipping was $550! I live in the country, so I guess that is why. So I drove the hour today to BRU and ordered it in for only $11. Better deal. And yay, we got our crib. Check.
@chillmama1518@mrsman2018 that’s awesome! It makes sense for them to have been bought out there if you don’t have anything else like it. Although, I don’t find buy buy baby to be that great. Do you have toys r us too? If so, are they staying open as well?
