Re: Weekly Check In: EDD 1/22-1/31 (w/o 8/6)

  • Jan 30th

    Indigestion mostly at this point.

Appointment today! Ultrasound in 10 days to check my cervix.

Rant: Where is this glowing pregnancy skin they talk about? I just look like a hormonal teenager.

GTKY: Our day at Animal Kingdom. It was the only day that all three kids napped at the same time, in the strollers and the adults got to spend a solid hour at the bar catching up and we had a great time ride swapping between the kid rides and the fun stuff like Expedition Everest. I think it was our best day of the trip.

  • @ladystout08, I look like a hormonal teenager, too. It's ridiculous!

    EDD?
    1/23

    Symptoms?
Still some morning nausea, but I guess it's just part of life now.

    Upcoming appointments?
MFM and OB tomorrow! Hoping DH can get away from work and come with me. I could be nice and reschedule, but I've been waiting for this for 6 weeks.

    R/R/Q:
I was all proud of myself for installing DS's new car seat last night, but the tilt isn't right. Now I have to go out on my lunch break when it's sweltering and try to fix it.

    GTKY:
Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year (otherwise everyone will say their wedding day...:)). Around this time last summer, DH and I took DS to Solomon's Island and Calvert Cliffs in Maryland. DS slept almost all day while we went to coffee shops, antique stores, and a little hike to a beach. It was so lovely, and it was our first getaway after he was born (he was 3 months old).

  • EDD? 1/30

    Symptoms?
random nausea and voms still. WHEE. Also, while it's improving with chiropractic care, my hip and back continue to really mess with my mojo. Also, my boobs are out.of.control. As many of us can relate, I was already pretty booby (38D)... bought some new 40DDD bras this weekend :(

    Upcoming appointments?
none for a little while -- Aug 20

    R/R/Q:
I finally broke down on my DH yesterday and told him I couldn't stand his crazymaking anxiety fueled responses to everything (we bought our home in Nov and it's been nonstop crap going wrong, projects to do, etc). We had a really good talk and I feel like things might improve.

My bachelorette party (yes my bachelorette party was a year ago) had its moments, but seriously best day of my whole life was going to the Boyz II Men show in Vegas and getting to meet them. I am a HUGE fan and my sister set it up as a big surprise, where we were in the third row. I cried like a crazy person half of the show.

@wkuandrea hmmm indeed. I really want to go with 1/28 based off my O date but I'm measuring right on track for 1/30 so my RE left it.

FYI I was just tinkering and your next ticker is a cinnamon roll. Lol.

  • EDD?
    Jan 23

    Symptoms?
Bloating has come back again and I’m breaking out like crazy- grrr

    Upcoming appointments?
16 week appointment tomorrow to check heartbeat, ultrasound in two weeks!

    Rant
over the weekend my mom ran into a friend of hers and mentioned I was pregnant, her friend said ‘oh I was wondering you were walking like you’re pregnant’ which enraged me! I’m sure she didn’t mean anything, but I’m not even that big yet and don’t think I’m  waddling....it was just hot AF outside and my thighs were all sweaty!!!

    GTKY:

Exactly a year or so ago today- we were on vacation in Turks and Caicos and it was amazing, wish I was back there! Don’t recall exactly what were doing a year ago but it involved the beach, pool and drinks at some point!
  • EDD?

    1/27

    Symptoms?

So. Tired. I’m more tired now than I was in the first tri. I could nap at any point in the day.

Shortness of breath (I feel like it’s early for this?)

    Upcoming appointments?

    Normal check up on 8/29

    R/R/Q:

Rant: I’ve basically been a worthless employee over the past week because I’ve been so tired.

Rave: I’ve kept up with exercising, and it still feels great.

GTKY:  Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year.

We took DS to the zoo in May. It was fun seeing him get excited about the animals. It started pouring down rain, and we sought out shelter, but DS ran right out into the rain and had the best time splashing and running around. It was just a fun family day.

  • EDD?
    1/24

    Symptoms?

    Nothing really.

    Upcoming appointments?
I have an appointment with a dietitian tomorrow which will most likely be a waste of time. I am well versed in the "official" gestational diabetes diet. I grew up with a diabetic, my mom was a dietitian, this is not my first diabetic pregnancy and I did extensive research last time plus saw a dietitian. I wanted help with some difficulties I've been having with insulin dosing and this was my Endo's recommendation. :/ Maybe I'll get lucky and they will actually be helpful this time.

    R/R/Q:
I have been less active lately. My motivation to do anything is so low when I'm hot all the time. I did get in a good adult-paced hike yesterday though which made me feel a little better.

One of the days I got to do a long solo hike. I feel like I live for alone time lately.

  • @saltedcaramel518 I also have shortness of breath- I never had this with DD! I went up and down the stairs a few times this morning and had to lie down for a few minutes to get back on track.  I’ve not been getting too winded while working out so it’s odd how it’s just doing the regular things that causes this!
  • EDD?
January 31 - bringing up the rear!

    Symptoms?
Acid reflux/heartburn, gas, frequent urination. But energy is coming back!!

    Upcoming appointments?
Next Friday is the 16 week check! Can't wait to hear her lil' heart again.

    R/R/Q:
+1 on motivation & heat. My energy is increasing but it's been in the high 90s so I just haven't wanted to go outside. I have a hard time staying hydrated and get so lightheaded in the heat. Ready for fall so we can take the dog on walks/hikes and actually enjoy ourselves.

    GTKY:
Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year (otherwise everyone will say their wedding day...:)).
A day floating in the pool on a trip to Arizona. Cold beverage in hand (even if it's not a beer this time around), chilly water perfectly balancing out the hot sun, all the delicious tex-mex I could eat, browsing the local farmers market for peppers and fresh dinner ingredients, nights full of movies & skin feeling crunchy from the sun. Ahhhh
  • EDD:
    1/23

    symptoms:
still nausea, have indigestion, I can’t tell if I am hormonal or work is really just as stressful as I feel it is right now.

    Upcoming appointment:
a week from Wednesday and I am hoping we find out the sex since it will be 17 weeks.

    RRQ:
I actually helped my husband clean the house weekend for the first time in what seems like forever.
Ranty: I work for a school system so it is crunch time to get everything done and I feel like I am behind and keep disappointing my bosses. But it is also my first year there and I feel like sometimes I am flying blind...
    GTKY:
I keep trying to think of a day, I think it was when I passed my Registered Dietitian exam in October. I had switched careers and it has been a long road and the test was the last thing to do. It was the biggest relief I have ever felt.

    EDD?
    1/29

    Symptoms?

Tired! Like @saltedcaramel518 I am not feeling much improvement over first trimester tiredness. Before I was pregnant I would use DD's naptime to either take care of things around the house or watch a TV show but now I pretty much only want to nap when she is napping.

    Upcoming appointments?
Nope, not until 9/12 for my 20 week scan. I'm pretty low risk and have no concerns so first few appointments have been very scattered (8 weeks, 13 weeks, 20 weeks).

    R/R/Q:
I am not feeling super motivated, also feeling bad about work/life balance. I'm having a bit of a quarter life crisis re: career ambitions vs. pursuit of work/life c

    GTKY:
Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year (otherwise everyone will say their wedding day...:)).

This time last year I was on maternity leave, I remember lots of good days from this time. I used to take DD to 'Bring the Baby' movies on Mondays, I saw a lot of my family because my parents both work for a school system and had the Summer off, and I felt a lot better about going out on date nights with DH etc. since I was home so often. It was a really good time. I can't think of a specific day though

  • EDD?
    1/22

    Symptoms?
Tired, occasional nausea still, increased libido.

    Upcoming appointments?
Not for a couple more weeks.

    R/R/Q:
Sometimes I feel bad that I’m not paying much attention to this baby because I’m so busy. I don’t spend much time talking to the baby or anything like that. It’s probably a dumb thing to feel bad about, but pregnancy hormones.

    GTKY:
Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year (otherwise everyone will say their wedding day...:))

DH and I had an awesome date a few months ago. We both took the day off work and spent the entire day together doing things we love. I really want to do again before the baby comes.

    EDD? 1/26 (15+3 today)

    Symptoms?
Increased appetite (but I also get full more quickly), RLP, irritable, crying easily, feeling some baby movements

    Upcoming appointments?
Monday 8/13 for my 16 week checkup. Excited to hear baby's heart again!

    R/R/Q:
This humidity really can GTFO. I was out of state last week with zero humidity and I miss it so much! I feel like a sweaty mess all the time and my hair looks awful lol

GTKY: Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year.
Back in February MH and I had our first scheduled day date, which we now have decided to do quarterly. Basically we both take a half day from work and go out together all afternoon while our nanny has the kids. In February we used the day to see a movie, get some drinks at a local place, then have dinner at a new restaurant we hadn't tried before. It was so much fun!

    Symptoms?

    Upcoming appointments?
    16 wk appointment next Tues

    R/R/Q:
I realized today we have 25 weeks left and I almost cried. Pregnancy is such a trial and it seems sooooo long when you are the pregnant one.

    GTKY:
Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year (otherwise everyone will say their wedding day...:))
am I the only one who would not want to relive their wedding day? I mean, it was great, but exhausting and i would not want to do it more than once!

I would pick the time we took DD to Great Wolf Lodge last Jan. We had so much fun as a small family of 3 and made the decision to try for baby 2. I spied on families with kids about 4 years apart and felt good about the potential age difference. Lots of warm and fuzzy feelings.
  • @luckymay2x I don’t think I’d relive my wedding day either for the same reason. A couple of moments, yes, but not the whole day.

Also, DH and I were both virgins when we got married, and our wedding night was not magical (we had no idea what we were doing).  :D

  • @saltedcaramel518 right? I feel like I'm happy it went well and we all had fun, and of course it was intensely emotional. But the intensity is what would keep me from wanting to do it again - better as a fond memory!!!

I think DH and I were too tired for sex and waited til the morning, lol
  • FFWC: my wedding kind of sucked and I would not want to relive that day at all unless I could change many things.

  • I am with you all... I wouldn’t relive mine, there was a lot of drama and I am not big into weddings to begin with.
  • EDD? Jan. 29

Symptoms? Headaches! pretty much daily. I'll take the headaches over the nausea and fatigue of the first tri tho.

    Upcoming appointments? August 22

R/R/Q: Found out at my last appt that I have complete previa, anyone else dealing with this or dealt with it in the past? My OB said they'll check again at my anatomy scan to see if it has moved. She didn't seem too worried but it's still a bit nerve wracking after doing some research on it.

    GTKY:
Describe the one day you would want to re-live (without changing anything!) from the past year (otherwise everyone will say their wedding day...:)). I guess I would say this past weekend, we went on our annual family camping trip up north. No electricity, no water (except for the lake), and the campground only has 12 sites. It is so relaxing and peaceful up there. It's so nice to spend the weekend with family, fishing, swimming, just hanging out around the campfire and talking. I wish we had more time up there.
