  • Thank you @mag1cbeli3ver! I am counting minutes till my AS! I can't wait to see if we can find out if it is a boy or a girl! Good luck @Ilky!!!

How far along? 20w 2d! I am over the hill! Yey!
Appts this coming week? AS in 4 hours! I am dying!!!
How're you feeling this week? Feeling great as always! Zantac did magic for my heartburn so I have nothing to complain about at the moment!
Rants/Raves: baby is driving me insane with being very active one day and then being quiet the next! I go nuts on quiet days and my IF damaged brain goes into very dark places! I am also having IF and IVF themed nightmares almost every night now, not fun! Doppler is now seating on my nightstand so I can use it in the middle of the night if I have to!
GTKY: What have you loved the most about being pregnant so far? What have you been less than pleased with? I am the lucky one with no nause ever so I am loving that my food tastes so much better during pregnancy! I love that feeling of taking the first bite of something random I've been craving all day!
I miss exercise! I still do stay active or try to, but I miss that feeling after high intensity session or a long run when you are drenched in sweat, ready to collapse on the ground but feeling like a bad ass at the same time!

  • Hi Ladies!  To where has July gone??

    How far along?

    19w3d

    Appts this coming week?

AS on Thursday (at 19w6d - doc was unavailable on Friday). I sort of wonder if baby will measure a little big from high blood sugar   :-/ (borderline GD and not the best diet/exercise  lately). We haven’t seen the little one in 7.5 weeks though.

    How're you feeling this week?

Mostly okay, I think.  I’ve mostly conceded it’s futile to continue to try to conceal this pregnancy (I’m up about 8 lbs - nosier people around the office keep asking), so I’ve mostly stopped trying (but still not advertising it).  Otherwise, enjoying the 2nd tri return of energy and absence of nausea.  I’ve taken ballet and tap classes the last few Saturdays, but still feel worn out from them on the following Sundays.

    Rants/Raves:

Lately DH has had his alarm set for 5AM for NO APPARENT REASON.  Ostensibly, it’s to get up and run the dog before work, but poor puppy hasn’t been getting morning runs, and I’ve been deprived of an hour of sleep each weekday.  This morning I was PISSED.  His phone alarm is on vibrate, but the vibration wakes me up and he doesn’t even hear it because he has noise-canceling headphones on (before the alarm went off he woke me up with iPad light...).

GTKY: What have you loved the most about being pregnant so far? What have you been less than pleased with?

I’m growing a person!  Not quite sure it’s hit me yet.  PGAL brain makes in hard to enjoy, but at some point we just have to switch over from waiting for the other shoe to drop to actually planning (mostly those day care waitlists...).

  • How far along? 25+1

    Appts this coming week? Nope

    How're you feeling this week?
I had a huge scare this weekend. Friday I noticed that baby boy wasnt moving like he normally did, but chalked it up to me being busy. Saturday I noticed I hadn't felt him move at all. So I went in to L&D triage to get checked out. He fidnt move when we poked and prodded him, nothing. Luckily all turned out fine and I wasn't showing signs of preterm labor. It was very nerve wracking and I'm ready for him to be in my arms.

    Rants/Raves:

GTKY: What have you loved the most about being pregnant so far? What have you been less than pleased with? I love how he reacts when ds higs me. He always give me a little kick when he hears ds. It's precious and makes me think they will be very close. My body has a hard time with pregnancy and I'm nearing the end of the "good" period.

@mag1cbeli3ver @DecemberDoll27 I just came from my AS appointment. Dr. said we have an A+ baby lol. Everythign looked good and pretty much the entire time he was staring at us, so the dr. had keep nudging him so turns his head. lol. my baby is very curious and did some flips. It was gorgeous. I was in tears. I havent (or maybe a little) felt him really good yet to know everythign is ok, so I was losing sleep (not that I sleep otherwise anyways) over this last night. As @artemis618 said my IF damaged brain kept thinking the worse.

    How far along? 20w5d
Appts this coming week? today! see above
How're you feeling this week? crappy since I dont sleep well. My hips are still killing me at night and I was tired being out all day long. My back was also hurting..Ugh too many aches and pains already. But it will pass and I will hold (God willing) my baby in my arms in 20 weeks :)
    Rants/Raves:
GTKY: What have you loved the most about being pregnant so far? What have you been less than pleased with? Witnessing the creation right inside me, God's love and grace, seeing my belly get bigger every week and still being in awe that it actually is happening is amazing and no words can truly describe my feelings.  We all went through so much but need to focus on how far we all came and how strong we each are, so we can get through the unpleasant stuff. It will be all worth it...
  • IlkyIlky member
@wildrainbow I'm sorry you had such a scare but glad everything turned out fine. Did they tell you why he wasn't moving much?
  • @Ilky Congrats on a great AS! That's so cool that you were able to see baby do a flip!
@wildrainbow Glad everything turned out to be okay with your baby and that you were able to go somewhere to get it checked out!

    How far along?
22 weeks 2 days! Baby is as big as a coconut!

    Appts this coming week?
Regular check-up with the OB on Friday. This is the first time I'm meeting with the OB instead of a NP, so I'm excited for that.

    How're you feeling this week?
Feeling good - just sleep deprived!

    Rants/Raves:
I need some more maternity clothes, but I'm being really cheap right now and don't want to spend the money! Grumble!

GTKY: What have you loved the most about being pregnant so far? What have you been less than pleased with?
I just love that fact that I finally am pregnant! I also really love the way DH is reacting to the pregnancy - he's been so cute and I'm seeing a side of him as a father-to-be that I never saw before. I do not like how anxious I still am. I will admit that the doppler and the growing bump have really helped, but that doubt is always there in the back of my mind.

@mag1cbeli3ver yay for 22 weeks! good luck on Friday.

Btw, I gained 24 pounds since the start of the transfer cycle. I'm still not overweight as my starting weight was 124, but 24 pounds is a LOT! Don't they recommend somewhere around 25-35 for the entire pregnancy? It's not like I'm eating for two or binge eating, so not sure what's causing it, but I hope its not permanent. The only saving grace is seeing my big belly and knowing he is safe and comfortable in my fluffy belly  :D
  • We are having a boy!
So everything is looking good! We are having a large baby, he is already around 14oz, 85 percentile.
He was wiggling around the whole time so our scan took an hour and a half because the tech was struggling to take pictures. So cute!

    Rants/Raves:

GTKY: What have you loved the most about being pregnant so far? What have you been less than pleased with?
I love feeling my LO’s kicks! Also, can’t believe I’m the first to mention it, but I love my new boobs! :D. I used to have really small boobs. So it’s a huge change ;)

i am tired of the GD. At this point in pregnancy I’ve been with GD about half of my pregnancy already. (Was diagnosed at 10w 6d). I hope they increase my insulin. As last week was scary with some really high blood sugar numbers.

Fetal echo went well. But they did say that diabetes can cause issues with baby’s heart.

And on that note, I just heard from the clinic and they doubled my insulin before dinner dose.

Have you ladies decided on the name yet?
  • @ilky we already decided on the name. We had boy's name picked out since we started TTC 3 years ago. DH was so excited that we are having a boy that he told his mom the name. Which is not that bad, but my MIL can't hold any info so she called and told it to my mom! Thanks lady! I am kind of pissed that I did not get to tell my mom the name of her first grandchild myself! Ohh, well...

@DecemberDoll27 that's a bummer! It's your news to share. Would you like to share with us? or, when it gets closer?

@wildrainbow lol I am on the same boat. Boy names are definitely harder to find than girl names. My dilemma is that I want to name my son a name from my heritage (turkish) but I am afraid his name wont be pronounced correctly etc. I already have a name in mind (havent told DH), but think that people might think its a girl name because it ends with "a". Poor baby is called "no name baby" thanks to his parents haha
  • @Ilky We’re no where near decided, but DH just learned baby’s gender this morning’s AS.  We’d just been calling her “Baby T” (T for our last name).  I shared with him my favorite boy name (Bowen - it’s very literal, meaning son of Owen) and girl name (Teagan - also Welsh like DH’s father, and then we get the T alliteration).  But he has some time to change my mind - as long as he gets off of his family’s dog-naming convention of naming after Greek mythology characters (our dog is Calliope).

@Ilky we're pretty much in the same boat as @DecemberDoll27 - we've had both a boy name and girl name picked out for a couple years. We actually picked the girl name first and is definitely the one we talked about more bc we both assumed we would have a girl first - boy, were we wrong (ha-ha corny pun, definitely intended)!!! We're going with Derek John. It's been fun to refer to baby by his name for the last few weeks!

I'm sure you have a wonderful name picked out. So what if people think it's a girl name - it just gives you and your family a chance to explain it's heritage! (But I totally get how that may get real old, real quick.) But if you love it, I say go for it!

  • @Ilky I had a girl name from the time I first did IUI, over 5 years ago!  Then,  after my first IVF, when I had 4 PGS normal: 2 boys, 2 girls. I found a boy name that I liked.

I’m still not 100% I’ll use the boy name I have in mind. But it’s still so far away that I’m going to wait for a while before I start thinking/looking for other names.

@artemis618 yay for learning the gender! I think her name is beautiful.  <3

@mag1cbeli3ver that's a very solid cool name and I wish I was calling my son with his name too. I feel bad for calling him my little lamb haha.

@prudence9-2 honestly we still have a lot of time. As long as we have a name by the time they are born then we are good. I think we need to pick the name by then because I believe the birth certificates are prepared at the hospital. I may be wrong! It's my first time lol

So, the name that I picked is "Kayra" (pronounced similar to Kai) Meaning God's grace, favor from God... I feel like it fits him perfectly and it reflects all that we had to go through to have him. What do you lovely ladies think about it?

  • Thanks @hopefulmom  Better late than never, right?  Hope you and the little one are doing just great!

@Ilky I love Kayra!  Ira also ends with an “a” and no one seems to have an issue with that name.  Go for it!

  • @ilky I also love Kayra! But if you are worried about it ending with "a" you can always change it to "o" or something. Playing with spelling can help!

I am not ready to tell the world the name of our baby boy, my IF brain is not letting me yet.

Also, do you ladies have wedding rings on still? I am not very bloated anywhere else but my fingers! My wedding band went at 15 weeks so I only have my engagement ring on at the moment. But it is getting to be too tight too! And I am feeling guilty taking it off.

@DecemberDoll27 we totally get it! you'll tell (or not) us when you are ready. My wedding and engagement rings were gone at around 18 weeks. They dont fit anymore and I didnt want to get my rings cut (or finger lol) to get them out later. It took me long time to get used to the new feeling of not having any rings and I've been looking for a decent (not expensive) ring to replace them in the meantime, but so far just bare fingers.

And, thank you and @artemis618 for encouragement on the name. I love the name but havent seen the list my hubby is working on. He thinks it doesnt matter what ever he picks because I'll get what I want  :D but, I do want to see his list and consider (maybe) his favorite names...

@Ilky Haha, your DH sounds well-trained :). It pretty much feels like I’m calling this little girl Teagan and the burden is on him to change my mind :p

@DecemberDoll27 My rings are still okay (just 20 weeks today) and loose in air conditioning (I have big knuckles so I’m pretty used to them just spinning around - though it is annoying).  I have a ring holder pendant from Etsy that I’ll probably use when the time comes:  https://etsy.me/1kvy00q Otherwise I have a Qalo I suppose I could wear when my fingers get fluffier - we got them for diving on our honeymoon, but really haven’t worn them much since.

Edit:  Actually, these were the first ring holder pendants I saw, but there are lots of people making them. The video shows how they “work”:  https://emilyc.com/

  • When we picked names, it was basically just me asking my husband if he was okay with the names. Luckily, we had a girl because he did not like any of the boy names I picked! I'm a history buff so I picked something I liked that has a lot of significance for me historically -- Anne -- and the name of a close relative who passed a couple years after our wedding -- Louise.  Anne-Louise is a very French name which works for me as a former french prof! But we picked Louise as officially a middle name so it wouldn't be toooo froo-froo :dizzy:

I told our close family our names after we got the official gender guess at around 23 weeks (she couldn't get a good look at our AS). My niece was calling the baby Annaweeze for most of my third trimester
